The Vapor Lair

I have been to Vapor Lair around 3 or 4 times now. Today I went on account of it being open today, Memorial Day. Lucky me, it’s also closest to my house in midtown.
When I walked in I was greeted in a friendly manner. I found Skyler to be really knowledgeable about what they carried. He’s great at giving recommendations based on your e juice flavor preferences. This shop carries a pretty numerous selection of brands and their flavors. The only thing I found a little lacking was they stocked just the big, well known juice brands. I easily found a flavor to suit my needs yet I still like «little guy» brands.
This is a solid shop with a great employee behind the counter. Plus they are open till 9 pm, which of an extra hour longer than my main shop. I know I’ll be back.

I bought a vape from this business on a Thursday, by Sunday the vape was automatically shutting g off and restarting every time I used it. Then by Thursday the vape would not even power on. Upon this happening I returned to Vapor Lair and explained what was happening with the vape. They looked it over and could not get it to power on either. They inspected the vape and found a scuff on it and said there was nothing they could do and told me to send it into the manufacturer. They accused of dropping the vape and offered no customer service. I had spent the close to $ 200 in a week at The vapor Lair.
I would advise anyone wanting to purchase a vape to purchase so. e other place and make for sure to ask them about their warranty policy.
If you want to sample great juices at a reasonable price the vapor lair is excellent to but for actual ‘hardware”, to purchase at some other vape store.

I left my juice in Dallas on a recent trip to Houston and was desperate to find a good place with premium juices to get me through my stay. I called a couple locations near my hotel and pretty quickly established that none of them had any idea what a PG/​VG ratio was and no one carried my desired premium brand. Luckily I called this spot and Patrick was able to alleviate all of my concerns!
Patrick was extremely patient with me as I tried a bajillion flavors until I found one I liked. I really enjoyed that they use box mods with great quality tanks for their tasters instead of ego style pens (that everyone else used and are never charged). It is not often my expectations are exceeded and I am grateful for that!

Texas has vape shops all over. Houston is no exception. I would say I am a very above average vape guy. This place had a great premium juice line up, drip tips for days and a decent selection of mods. Walked out with 90ML of juice happy vapor! Definitely worth a stop in.

Honestly: awful. Walked in to see 3 staff (?) not really giving af. Sure, I understand it’s a hipster sort of place but upon saying my «hello», got a very strong «well. want do you want» vibe. I’ve been vaping for four years but I’m very much a passive user; by that, I mean I’m not into modding/​building. I do it to quit smoking. They seemed very disinterested to answer genuine queries without rather responding in condescension (I was very polite the whole time fyi and even bought some liquid even tho it was fairly meh, purely and only out of good faith — I’m British). Irrespective of intent, they made me feel uncomfortable. As the only positive, the fella who served me had above average knowledge of the industry but that itself doesn’t outweigh said issues.
Cliffs: if you’re a novice or need help, go elsewhere. If you’re looking for a circle jerk environment (perhaps a budding competitive vapor), this is for you. You might even get a handjob.

Too busy playing video games to help me. Felt like every time I’d ask to try another flavor it was irritating the guy that was assisting me. Bad selection, poor customer service. Urban Vape was way more helpful, gave me their full attention until I found the flavor that was perfect for me. Better selection too.

Just had the absolute worst experience here tonight. We have been in here only once before because we live in austin. The first visit here was great! However, today we made a special visit on our way back from new orleans. We stopped in and the guy starts asking how he can help us. We say we want to try some flavors. He starts asking questions to what kind we prefer. We tell him and he brings one over. Tasted shitty… So i asked for a book or list of flavors to look at to see about trying the few that caught my interest online. He says they dont have a book its «being updated». Uhhh ok give me the old one to look at… So he asks our nicotine level. We both say 6. He advises they really dont have much in that nic level. They are waiting on a truck. Etc etc etc.. We also also asked specifically about a brand and were told they we are waiting on a shipment from that vendor because they are changing out the bottles. When we pointed to a set of bottles sitting in the inventory rack he said they were not for sale they were samples given by the vendor. And i asked for a specific flavor i saw online and was advised there is no tester for that flavor because it’s «specific to the online store». so in all they had no list to look at. Shitty testers and overall douchy staff. Id go somewhere else

I really like this place since it is walking distance from the house.
Been coming here since the opening and Peter (the owner) is friendly as well as the staff.
For you RDA folks, they do charge a nominal $ 5 fee for rebuilds, but they sincerely make the best coils I have used in my Valhalla dripper.
Solid selection of juices, and have very good taste (pun intended) in their selections.
There are so many options in the surrounding area that this is one of my two places to go for juice and accessories.
Friendly staff that will remember your name if you come in regularly.

I get an «inmates running the asylum» feel when I shop at The Vapor Lair these days. There are ways that’s really nice: they know about the stock and can explain anything you care to ask.
There is a downside. Their list of flavors tends to change as often as the wind, as often as the staff decide some new flavor line is the hot new thing. If you’re not in every week, there’s a good chance you’ll be running through all the tasters again, trying to find something in today’s stock, wondering if they’ll have the same flavor & concentration tomorrow.
They do have a nice little chill spot up front. Maybe the place can be your «Cheers», where you’re in every afternoon and the crowd all know your name.

Saw this vape shop while driving through Houston, decided to check it out and was glad i did! The guys working here are really knowledgeable and up to date with the vape scene, but what really impressed me was their enthusiasm and passion for what they do. Walking out of the Vape Lair I had a newfound passion for vaping that I didnt have before, and that’s all credited to these guys! The selection of juice and hardware here is phenomenal. They carry new and upcoming products that are bound to be the next big thing. If you’re in H-​Town you will definitely want to check The Vape Lair out.

My go-​to vape shop in the loop. What kept me from giving them 5 *s is their no longer carrying Bowden’s Mate by Five Pawns. However they’ve got great service!

These guys are HEMO to the socks. They have HEMO mods, HEMO juices, HEMO attys, even HEMO drip tips. Don’t come half stepping in this store with clones. My vaporshark was the worst mod in the store. They will get your Vape game right in this lair of vapor. Really nice staff, great service, and knowledgable.

Chauvinistic and condescending about diddly squat; referring to «clouding» or whatever hobby that is. No thank you. I’d rather go to (smooches — they don’t charge to show you how to build your coils) or any other store that sells e juice and order all my mods online than go back here. Some white dude who was trying to make me buy more shit than I actually needed I only needed one battery not two so stop asking me if I’m sure and cocking your head to the side like I’m a fucking idiot. lol

Ive been coming to vapor lair for over a year pushing 2, and the service has been so consistent and staff is knowledgable.
If you’re a newb or old pluming pro, you should get your juice here.

Your experience all depends on who is working. The first time I went in, mid afternoon, the staff was really friendly, chill, fun guys and knowledgable. When I went back in the evening (around 7:15) the two guys working were a combination of apathetic and condescending. it really seemed as if I was impeding on their movie night.
The one common theme with both visits is, service is slow. I had rebuilds done both times, and while I admit I have a unique build, it took considerably longer than any other vape shop I have ever been to.

Best vape shop in all of Houston. Every time I go it’s such a chill environment. Great selection of juices. All the employees know there stuff. Would always recommend this place over any other shop in town.

I walk in to see what flavor of juice they have. I ask for replacement coils for my innokin iClear tank and the guy behind the counter (very rudely) states «we don’t carry those and you will be hard pressed to find them around here.» I told him this was Houston and I get them all over town. He then ask what strength nicotine are you looking for, I tell him and he states we don’t carry that strength.
So I’m confused why the good reviews!!! I struck out on both equipment and juice!
I will not return!

The individuals here are the friendliest and most knowledgeable in Houston when it comes to premium high end vaping. They bring the knowledge that has been cultivated in their California branch to help filter out all of the extraneous and useless eCig products that are out there.
Looking at the shop’s inventory, they have the most premium eCig products in Houston. Typically their juices and products fly off the shelf as soon as they arrive, so I recommend following them on facebook to keep up with the newest arrivals.
For most of you who are not experienced in these shops, they are designed to facilitate and foster a community of individuals trying to kick the habit of cigarettes. They let you hang out to ask the questions and relax and not be judged. So in Erin W’s comment about seeing a group of individuals sitting down hanging out and vaping, you’ll see this if you go to any of the other premium shops around the nation, I know because I’ve been to a lot.
Overall this shop is stocked with some of the most knowledgeable employees in Houston and can help teach you to troubleshoot and rebuild your ecigs. If you have questions and can’t find the answer online I recommend paying these guys a visit!

Been here a few times and have nothing but good things to say. As a little background for credibility I have been vaping for over 3 years, know many of the shop owners at the premier shops in California (vape rev, local vape, Newport vapor room, and Bruce at cov in Florida) also am close friends with many juice manufacturers. Some of which are carried at vapor lair. Also am an avid APV collector (advanced personal vaporizer/​mods).
After moving back to Texas I thought it would be great to go see what the vaping scene is like here. So first place to start was the shops. Checked out create, spring, and vapor lair. Out of them all vapor lair takes the cake. Great set ups for beginners as well as mid to high end mods for the more seasoned vapors. Juice is great, they don’t try to make more money off manufacturing their own juice in shop, which even if it is sold cheaper there is a much larger profit margin. Also don’t have to risk spending $ 15 on a bottle of juice and it not stepping well (goes bad after 2 days) or tasting like what you wanted it to. Try it and buy it.
The staff is awesome and really nice, also if you need help they will do there best to figure out how to make it happen and not send you out the door on your own. They gave me a real sense of community. Couldn’t be happier that there is a shop like this in Houston to offer new vapors a good first experience which is really what it’s all about, the person who needs to quite smoking.
This is a place you must go if interested in quitting smoking or are an avid vapor.
