I can’t disapprove of this location enough, the location manager and doctor were aware after checking my family’s insurance eligibility that we were not yet eligible for service until 1÷1÷16. They did not make us aware, performed services then post charged my account. An accidental miss is understandable, but the location manager advised the doctor was aware we were ineligible and«overlooked» it. I spoke several times with location manager to explain if we were made aware we would NOT have had services performed until coverage was eligible. We were told we had no recourse. I had been coming here for nearly a decade before this, will certainly not be returning.

Since I have only been here for a couple of months and have not utilized my benefits, I decided to go get my eyes checked. After looking on my company’s insurance carrier(Texas True Choice), I was able to find some optometrist near my work place. However, after arriving at those optometrist, it appears that they do NOT accept my insurance, when it specifically states that they do on the website. After going to a couple of offices around the Galleria area, I decided to give up my search and look closer to home. That is when I stumbled upon the Vision Source. This place is literally 5 mins away from where I live. The outside does not look appealing, as well as the fact that it is in a «restaurant» area. I went to this place on a Saturday and was told that the person who performs the eye exams does not come in on the weekends and rather the weekday. I almost gave up right here, but luckily I didn’t. I decided why not and scheduled an appointment on Wednesday at 6:30PM. When I arrived for my appointment, surprisingly, they were still open and there were a couple of other people there as well. So I asked what time do they open. They told me that on Monday and Wednesday, they take the last patients at 7 and on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, they close«early» at 5. Saturdays, they are open until 3. However, I would suggest you call ahead to make sure. The lady at the front desk(I believe her name was Cheryl) was very nice and courteous. On that Saturday, I had given my insurance information to them and when I arrived, they had already checked my insurance and said all I had to do was pay the $ 20 co-pay. I had the whole eye exam. The one that checks for diseases, as well as obtained a new prescription. The staff nurse asked me tons of questions to input into their system. She seemed a little cranky, but I understand, since it was so late in the day. Another lady then walked in who performed the tests to see what my prescription is. I thought she was the actually doctor, but it turns out that she was just another assistance. After all the«routine» stuff, the Dr. Shuchart(pronounces like Shoe Heart) came in and talked to me about my results as well as run a couple of other tests. After all of the results, I was a little hesitant to ask for my prescription, as they did not have a good selection of frames. But I asked and she provided me with the prescription. She was not pushy about forcing me to buy frames from her. I really appreciated that. She was also very nice and helpful in explaining all the different type of diseases. I would recommend this place, as well as Dr. Shuchart. I will come back in a year for my annual eye exam. Now I will go and find another place for some frames…
