I’ve been to many large tile showrooms in Houston in search of tile and decorative mosaics for my kitchen & bathroom remodels a few years back and now for my soon to be custom built house, but Thorntree blew me away with the spectacular customer service, the wide selection of materials, the warm and pleasant ambiance and the competitive prices. This time Rebecca Adams helped me with the selections and everything she suggested was spot on. She must have a knack of reading other people’s mind! She is very courteous, professional, sweet and quick to reply to all my email. Other staff who was around when I was there was also very pleasant, caring(quickly offering cold bottled water to people who’d just walked in from a 100 degree heat) and conducted themselves in a warm, courteous and professional manner. The showroom has an upscale feel and a mind boggling selection of materials. I found some spectacular floor tile and mosaics that I’d not seen anywhere else and the prices were surprisingly reasonable. You may say that other large tile showrooms have large selections and competitive prices too so what’s the big deal, but the big deal at Thorntree is the personalized customer service which makes shopping for tile a fun and pleasant experience. Thank you, Rebecca!

Amazing customer service by Renee Lawrence. I can not thank her enough. I started a small yard project for my Chicago Bucktown home. My dear Texan friends would be surprised to learn that our Chicago city lots of 24 by 100 are smaller than don’t-mess-with-texas size swimming pools. So our yards are really small. After visiting a couple of Chicago shops in the design district, and subjecting myself to some snootiness, googled my way through America and found Thorntree in Houston. I still remember the summer heat of Houston when I first moved to America, and had a pit stop in Houston. The heat and humidity of Aug. 23, 1979 was so bad that I avoided Houston for many years. This time, I felt a lot more welcome. Thanks to Renee. Our yard is very small. Most Chicago houses have steel or concrete stairways which rust, erode due to the dry salt used to prevent slippage during winter snow and ice season, and such. I hate that poor aesthetics. I settled for Oceanic Blue Stone. Renee sent me some samples and taught me a lot about stones, their variety, design options… all the work and advice done via email, phone calls and drawings/pictures. There was no pressure selling, or attempt to sell. All done professionally. Renee let her knowledge and good work do the job. Our yard is very small — smaller than a walk in closet in Houston. Renee’s effort and great customer service by far surpassed my expectations for such a low revenue generating sale. Thanks Renee. Mehran(of Chicago).
