Great sandwiches. Have been here twice for lunch and the bagel is wonderful. Can’t wait to try their breakfast.

Friendly staff and clean place to eat. I love that you. Can order lunch for breakfast as well. The prices are very reasonable. I will definitely be back for more to try other menu items. I love they have healthy choices as well.

Awesome, awesome. It’s freezing cold in there and they seem pretty«new», but the breakfast sandwich was great.

As a New Yorker, raised on bagels, I have high standards. I expect a REAL bagel to be chewy on the inside, with a brown, crunchy crust. They should be made with high gluten flour and boiled, not baked or steamed. I bought a dozen of a variety of bagels at Toasted. They were terrible. They had none of the taste and texture characteristics of an authentic bagel. They were merely rings of bread. Needless to say, my family was disappointed and the bagels wound up in the trash.

Well came here for the first time. Had very good visual appeal. However as i placed my order it came out to be quite expensive for just a sandwhich and orange juice. Came out to about 15 dollars. Now the price wasnt the issue but the serving size was. I couldve got the same thing at mcdonalds and spent way less. Tasted good tho. I think tbey should adjust the prices a bit but other than that the food was about 6 out of 10. Service was good tho. Will try again on a later date for an updated review

Enjoyed a steak and egg on a onion bagel. Just an all around perfect start for the morning. There is plenty of room at this location and a clean environment for its customers. The only complaint that I could have is the over all taste of the regular cup of coffee they serve to the customers had a l burnt flavor to it.

If New York Bagels, Inc. along a remote patch of Hillcroft is characterized as the«real thing», then TOASTED at 34th and Ella is the REALREALREAL thing. You have to know bagels to know the best. Einstein’s is truly **** in comparison. The biggest problem TOASTED has is being too remote. Too remote for mainstream bagel lovers [ I think} not near nor close to the downtown Houston area, not near the West University area, not near the medical center. The interior of the place is upbeat and clean. The seating is ample and nicely done. The bagels and the selections are as good as any you’d eat in New York, or Brooklyn, or Chicago, or… and if you get one or more to go they’ll wrap them individually in a plastic zip-lock«type little bag for you. The restrooms, the men’s at least, are clean and that’s a telling feature with me. If the restroom[s] is clean it follows in most cases that the kitchen is as well. It’s a bit of a drive to get there but if real estate rentals weren’t so pricey in an area like West U for example, there’d be a line out the door all week.

I have tried this place 4 times. Each time was a disappointment in service and food. Went when it first open, service has slow. On the 4th visit it was still the same. Coffee is terrible, burnt and bitter. Eggs are over cooked and rubbery, bacon was deep fried which I can’t stand, bagels are only slightly warm and not toasted at all. Sent the bagel back 2 times for additional toasting after asking for a bagel that was toasted when I placed the order because of previous visits. The orange juice is great but they ruin it by putting ice in the cup with fresh squeezed juice. I really wanted a good bagel shop but this one was a disappointment in all areas.

I am far from authoritative on bagels, but I found this little café hit the spot. An open dinning area, some counter seating, and order at the register. The waitresses will call out your number when it is ready. Service is quick, knowledgable, and obviously enthusiastic about their products. Always good to see. I visited on a late Saturday morning, and it was not overly packed but obviously had regulars. I ordered the Nova Lox with bagel chips and it came out before I knew it… oh man it is great to see bagel chips and these are done right. Not to salty, fresh baked with a cream cheese spread. I am always a sucker for bagels and lox and I was not disappointed. The Everything Bagel is perfectly chewy, good smoked salmon and capers, oh yay. Pretty good coffee as well. Really enjoyable for a late breakfast/early lunch on a weekend. Simple, well made, and quick. There is a pretty extensive menu, and I will be back to try some more for sure. Though I have a feeling I am going to keep coming back to that Lox… MMM.

To be honest, I would rate the food a three and the service a two. To focus on the Good lets start with the food shall we? Many bagels to choose from, even chocolate chip, pretty cool eh? You can order just a bagel, or a dozen and take them up on their flavored cream cheeses. YUM-O. I like that you can get a breakfast bagel or you can get one of their sandwich bagles. I ordered the Nova Lox. Just what I was craving, smoke salmon, red onion, capers and yes dont forget CREAMCHEESE. I had it on a pumpernickle bagel. Bagels are fresh and smell devine. This comes with a pickle and a side of either bagel chips or potato chips. I oped for the bagle chips and these I think were the jalapeño bagel chips. Very crisp and thin sliced. Not salty like some of the brands you can get at the grocery store, these are way better. They also offer pizza bagels, something I do not think I have ever seen outside my mothers kitchen. Frankly, when she made me pizza bagels, I thought she just made it up. I did not realize it was a thing until some years later I saw the frozen treats in the store. Not into bagels you say? Well fear not… you can get this on a biscut or a croissant. Going carb free? They have salads, so, really, there is no reason not to try this place. The only downfall is the service. GOODNESSSAKE it is slow. My husband had gone next door to the Shipply’s which had a carline that backed up almost past the light, and got in and out faster than I got my food. I waited twenty minutes for my food, five of that twenty was it was sitting in the window while the two people in the front ignored the bell ringing signling to the staff in front that my food was ready. It took three rigns of the bell before either of the two staff members turned around to see it was a to-go order. place As for asthetics, nice holds about fifty customers with tables and a barstool area. Parking is a bit limited, but there is an older shopping center to the left that has plenting of parking areas one could use.

First time to try this place, so 3 stars for now. I plan to give it a go a few more times to get a better feel. Pros: Bagels were fresh. Breakfast sandwich was pretty good. Place was very clean and organized. Affordably priced. Cons: Drip coffee was terrible. I will be getting an espresso drink next time.

OMG! Definitely a must if you live in oak forest/garden oaks. I was here for a quick lunch after working out and it was a very pleasant experience, I had a poppy seed bagel with egg white and skim cheese and it was great(: We needed something like this around the neighborhood.

Still trying to keep it healthy for lunch and saw a couple reviews of the lox bagel which comes with Salmon. I wasn’t disappointed and I asked for baked chips over fried. Looks like this is still a new place as the interior looks new and everything was clean inside. It’s definitely great having another eating option within this strip mall besides Golden Wok. It’s not the Einstein Bagels I’m used to in the past, but this will do for lunch.

I really do like this place but when I stopped in this morning to get a Breakfast Sandwich the girl taking my order could not understand what an egg white was. After several attempts to explain what I wanted she finally asked someone how to order an egg without a yolk. They proceed to both look at me and said I needed to order an egg white. Frustrated I said that is what I am trying to order but she’s not understanding. I received my sandwich and looked at it before I left. It looked like egg whites so I was happy and proceeded to head back home. Shame on me for not cutting into it before I left, 2 bites in I bit into the Yolk. The sandwich went directly into the trash. The place is good and I will probably go back but I will stick with bagels and lunch sandwiches and stay away from eggs.

Toasted specializes in Bagels and Bagel Sandwiches. We tried the Nova Lox($ 8.99), A Bagel with salmon, cream cheese, red onions and capers. Seafood lovers will enjoy this bagel sandwich I was full on half the sandwich. Nova lox comes with your choice of chips or bagel chips with cream cheese. For two people expect to spend about $ 20 to $ 28 dollars. I also ordered a 2% flat white which was perfect! Service was fast, staff was friendly and facilities are clean. Free wifi is available. Lots of sitting room(see my panoramic photos)

The other evening, while picking up pizzas next door at Marco’s, I looked all over the doors and windows of this place for the operating hours. NONEPOSTED. C’mon folks! Retail 101… let people know when you are open!

Really good breakfast sandwich’s! My egg was slight undercooked but I asked for it over medium which is kinda hard to do exactly right anyways. We also had a cinnamon roll, we didn’t ask but I will next time for them to warm it up, it was good but kinda hard, and couldn’t even cut it with the plastic silverware. All in all, pretty good and pretty affordable. Interested in trying the pizza bagel next!

Although I’d driven through the construction everyday, I didn’t really have any interest in it until I read about this place in the Leader News community newspaper. I thought this was going to be a strictly coffee only place, but after finding out that they were also going to be serving food, I made it a point to try this place out. The first time I came in was for late lunch. It was around1:30 pm, but I didn’t get to try anything because although there were still customers inside, there was a sign on the door saying that they were out of everything. Boo! Not a good first impression. I tried again a few days later, also for a late lunch. However, this time they were still open. I went in and was immediately greeted by the people behind the counter. I took a quick look at their pretty extensive menu and decided to try their Turkey Club sandwich. You get the option to choose your carb: bagel, croissant, bread, or wheat/spinach wrap. I opted to go with the bagel and in a moment of insanity, I wanted blueberry bagel with my turkey club. Whoa! When you order a sandwich, you get one pickle spear and you get a choice of some bagel chips with veggie cream cheese or just regular chips(Lays). I chose the bagel chips and I’m sure glad I did! The food didn’t take too long to prepare and in only a few minutes, I had my meal in front of me. The meat was fresh and delicious; the bacon was yum; and the bagel chips with the cheese cream were perfect to eat along the sandwich. Knowing that I was only getting 4 oz of meat, I didn’t think I was going to get full. However, at the end of my meal, i was full. However, that didn’t stop me from trying their cinnamon roll though. When I placed the order, the owner warned me that the roll was left over from their breakfast rush and she asked me if I really wanted it. I appreciated her honesty and I asked her to just heat it up for me. It was delicious and not too sweet. I personally thought it could use a little bit more glazing on it(I love sweet). They offer free WiFi. The password is posted by the fountain drink machine. The connection was fast so this could make a great place for studying, or even a quick business meeting where WiFi may be required. The staff that worked here was super friendly and all smiles. The owner was also nice and sweet. Toasted is definitely on my regular lunch rotation now. If you work/live in the area, I go ahead and check it out.

Went today and very pleased. I had Lox and a Sesame bagel — they gave me a lot of smoked salmon. It was perfect! I got a coffee — very good — strong like I prefer it. I also got a BIG bag of bagel chips — for less than $ 5! Service was pleasant and good. I’m going back!
