The salads are really good and sandwiches so-so. I will definaltely be back for the salad! A little pricey for what you get but big portions.

Surprised this place has lasted so long. Bland, boring, overpriced, and bland again.

Today I tried Tossed for the first time out of convenience. I normally go to Which Wich across the street, and I probably will from now on. I ordered the turkey and cheddar panini. I said I just wanted the sandwich with no chips, and I was told that I had to get chips because the price included them. Getting fruit instead was a $ 1.50 upcharge from an already plainish sandwich for $ 8. I just wasn’t impressed. The sandwich is just ok. I’ll definitely be going to Which Wich next time. In no way am I a cheap person, but I feel like I just wasted $ 8.50. :/

This is a decent place for a quick salad or sandwich. There are a few vegetarian items, which is what attracts me. My favorite on the menu is the spinach salad with goat cheese and strawberries.

I used to come in several times per week to eat a variety of things. My fav were the fruit salads. Due to poor customer service from the owner/manager, I no longer have a desire to spend my hard earned money on people who do not care. I won’t get into the way he treated me, The cashiers were not bad, they seemed to have fun at work and gave you time to view the menu properly. Looks like Panera Bread is my new favorite spot. Happy again.

We went last night. Only people there, staff was all in back. I had to shout out to get there attention. If the owner cared, you’d think they’d do a better job of showing it, rather than leaving a bunch of kids in charge who seemed not to care. Lettuce was limp, not fresh, Cobb salad had some unidentifiable meat, maybe bacon or ham, but very odd texture. Best thing I can say is, I’m glad we had Groupon so we didn’t have to pay full price. If the owner doesn’t figure out soon that they better watch over their investment, they will be closed by the end of the year. There are too many places to go that serve quality fresh food, and have staff that give a sh**. Like Café Express a few blocks to the north; where you can get a great salad and a much broader selection of foods.

Went on a lunch date here and I was impressed by the set up. Walk in, get in line and watch them build your salad. I had a spinach salad with strawberries, pecans and feta cheese instead of the blue cheese crumbles that came with it. They put way too much feta on my salad and it ticked me off a little. They have a lot of options and I’ll probably go back to try something else with meat on it.

I always enjoy going to Tossed. Going in you have to know to expect higher prices Subway sandwiches, but the quality of the food matches the price. The Apple Walnut Salad is absolutely delicious. It has grilled Chicken, golden raisins, Walnuts, and balsamic dressing on romaine lettuce. You can choose to have your dressing mixed in or on the side. Their soups and salads are wonderful as well. You probably won’t leave paying less than $ 13.

Mom says 3.5 stars. I’m not sure how to rate Tossed because these are big city prices but not big city quality food. It’s probably a 2 star place in Socal, but maybe a 3.5 star place in Houston. Anyways, it’s a nice change from all the fatty alternatives in Houston. Lots of families and young children here, i’m glad to see Houstonians worried about the health of their children. Place is nice and clean. A nice black chick took our order and our server was really nice. I was reading previous reviews about their service. It must have improved since then. Prices are about a dollar too expensive. They were a bit slow in serving our food, considering the food is probably already prepared and there weren’t many people here. I ordered the tuna sandwich. Multigrain bread was a bit old and not soft. The filling was good. The grapes add to the color and taste of the tuna. Mom’s salad looked fresh enough. She said the southwest sauce was too hot, and we asked for some sesame dressing instead. I would like to see this place offer free wifi, and create more of a Panera feel. They have plenty of empty tables for it.

Came here early this week for lunch because I heard that their wraps were crêpe like and its so good. So, I tried their Cheddar Chicken Wrap which came with a bag of chips and other co-workers got their soups or salads. After finishing our meal, we were not really impressed with the food here. Yes, this place is healthy but I feel like you can get alot more healthy food somewhere else instead of here. Plus the price is pretty pricey.

I hope people give this place another chance if they had a bad experience with the service. I went in today for the first time around 1:00pm and I was greeted promptly and nicely. I saw some of the bad reviews and was a bit leery of this place(the bug incident scared the crap out of me), but still, I was willing to give this place a try. I ordered the Apple Walnut Salad and a cup of the Tomato Basil Bisque. Unfortunately, they forgot the raisins in my salad… but that’s no big deal. The soup was OK, nothing to write home about. The salad wasn’t the best I’ve ever had(I can make better ones at home), but it was still tasty. My meal cost around $ 11. I don’t think it’s that expensive. I’m willing to pay for convenience and friendly service! I like this place because it has a variety of salads and their menu is pretty decent. For people who want fast food but don’t want the burgers and fries, try this place. Maybe you will like it!

I used to live across the street when they first opened up and it still is AMAZING! If you haven’t had their chopped bbq chicken salad with the chipotle dressing on the side with a side of ciabatta bread(50 cents extra), you’re missing out. Some people may complain about price because its a salad, but I wouldn’t. The salads are huge and the produce is fresh. Turkey avocado sandwich, pretty good also. I’m a big fan of the loaded baked potato soup. I mean, defeats the purpose of the salad eating but hey, i’m eating a salad!!! I deserve a little fatty goodness. So in summary, better than fast food. Quick, affordable, healthy, delicious and wait, do I need to add anything else?

APPLEWALNUTSALAD! I interned for a summer across from this Tossed, and without fail I would make sure to at least get that salad once a week. They definitely aren’t the cheapest, but I was definitely willing to budget around it :) I always did take out, and occasionally got half a salad and half a sandwich(smoked turkey and avocado) which was great as well! Granted that is all I ever got, because I feel that their choices were quite similar to one another, and the ingredients were the same just served in different ways i.e. salad form, wrap form, or sandwich form. Not much fantasy into this menu. But what can I say? apple walnut salad haha

Today, thanks to Tossed, I learned how disgusting a big green bug tastes. During my break hour at work, I drove over to Tossed because I felt like a fresh, healthy salad. Because it would take me another 20 minutes to drive back, I took my salad to-go. I got back to my building, went inside, opened my salad, and dug in. Just when I was thinking to myself that I had made a good choice for dinner, my mouth was suddenly filled with the taste of a spicy, perfume-y, bitterly acrid chemical. In surprise, I quickly spat out whatever I was chewing and examined it. To my horror, it was green, it was black, it was three-quarters of an inch big, and it had WINGS. The body of the bug(or the parts of the body I hadn’t chewed on) was round, ended at a point like a shield, and had ridges. I called a co-worker over to confirm that I had indeed just taken a bite out of a bug and then went to the restroom to throw up and wash my mouth out. I immediately called Tossed, explained what had happened, and told them I would be back to show them the bug and receive a refund. When I drove back as soon as work ended, the cashier told me that the manager just said I should leave my number and he would be in touch tomorrow. Excuse me? I got him on the phone and explained again what had happened, but I was appalled at his response. He basically said he couldn’t be responsible for what was in the salad once I had left the restaurant and insinuated that I had either made up a story or stuck a bug in there because he was«99.9% sure» that with all the cleaning they take their ingredients through, it would be «impossible» for there to be a big green bug in the salad. I told him I was not going to drive back here a third time tomorrow, and he told me that because it was 7:45 pm, he wasn’t going to come to the location to resolve the problem. He basically refused to accomodate me in any way at all and told me he may give me a gift card after he investigated the problem. No, thank you, I think i’m done eating your salads. Oh, and when I told him I would be posting my opinion of the place on the internet, he said I was threatening to slander the restaurant. Manager Trent, sir, it’s not my $ 10.00 that I’m concerned about, it’s the principal of the matter. You disgust me more than that big green bug whose entrails exploded in my mouth. After doing some research, by the way, I think the bug I ate was a green shield bug or a green stink bug which are commonly found in vegetable gardens. The physical description and the fact that it «produce[s] a fairly sweet odor from glands in the thorax» when handled or disturbed seem to match my experience of the bug.

This salad place can be inconsistent with service, hence the reason I’m giving it a 3-star instead of 4. One time we went in a grou pof 6 and waited around forever for our meals… manager gave us complimentary cookies for our longer-than-usual wait. You can ask for substitutions on the ingredients that go into your salad. Some cashiers do it correctly and don’t overcharge where other times, I ended up having to pay extra for swapping. I’ve done online ordering and ½ the time it goes well, while the other times their computer crashed or other issues resulted in them having to make it for me on the spot instead of being already made. Overall, I think they’re a good salad place, although a little pricier than I would like for a salad. Not all the salads are a hit. My favorite is the Spinach Salad, which I’ve decided to stick with since I know that I’ll love it.

Actually, the place LOOKS very nice for the type of restaurant it is… when you come in you can see all kinds of salad«fixins» and a lot of it looks pretty good. There were hardly any customers and it seemed odd because it looks nice-ish for the price of food. Two of us both ordere«crepes» or what they call crepes. But when we got them they weren’t crepes at all just tortilla wraps. Maybe soft-ish tortillas. And, unexpectedly, COLD. We didn’t have any information up front that they would not be hot food(as crepes so often are) so it was kind of a turn off… We had two small kids with us, there was a kids menu but no kid friendly drinks only soft drinks and iced tea. Other things, the soft drink I wanted didn’t work. I had to go back and ask for a small part of the order they forgot to give us. the place closed at 8.

Tossed — my first salad bar in Houston! Was here for a quick lunch — Service was very very quick. I had a veggie salad — don’t remember the name though. We started working on our salads and chatting about work. First look, the salad looked so very fresh with all the green leaves and nice dressing. 5 mins into the salad — feeling is still good. 10 mins — did they serve me just leaves 15 mins — am I a goat? 20 mins — finally tasted the other ingredients of the salad 25 mins — still more leaves 30 mins — Finally the leaves were over Food was below par, even my colleague disliked the Tofu crêpe he had ordered. My overall experience got tossed by paying 10 bucks for the leaves.

I’m normally more about meat but every once in a while after eating too much ice cream, I feel I have to eat something super healthy so a neighbor suggested this place. Hey some people hit the gym. i eat weeds and leaves. First impressions. This place is super clean and open. There were 2 people working and greeted us hello. while taking a moment to absorb the plethora of wraps and salad varieties, I just told the guy to pick me the best tasting thing on the menu. He gives the the apple walnut which was pretty good and man it was a huge salad with the leaves so green looking, I thought they were radioactive. Anyway, they also served shakes and crepes to my surprised. I think i should have opted for the crêpe. Next time. We did get there during a latel lunch so it was expected that service was fast and friendly

I am a salad FIEND — I make them at home and I eat them in restaurants, there’s just something about having a great big fresh salad that just keeps my day going. So I thought that Tossed would be a shoo-in for a new favorite lunch spot — a neat-looking place near my office with specialty salads with tasty soup and sandwich options if I needed something extra. Perfect! Wrong and wrong. To start with, the customer service is rotten. Walking into the restaurant is like walking into some weird world where people have no social skills(what able-minded people just stare straight at you without even a smile or a hello or at least a ‘can I take your order’?) and forget that a restaurant is actually in existence to… you know, serve food to the people that come and pay for it… and maybe even provide a pleasurable experience that will make them want to come back. The food itself is less than mediocre and far too pricey for what I received. I’ll GLADLY pay over $ 10 for a great salad, but when the ingredients are wilted, tasteless and less-than-fresh that’s just embarrassing — especially for a salad-focused place. There’s no hiding that. The dressings are very ‘meh’ and the crepes are not, in fact, actually crepes at all and my daughers’ was just plain gross. We also had some black bean soup and that was probably the only relatively okay bit of the meal, besides our water with lemon(cough). And then there was a weird incident where there was only salt on the tables and no one would bring us(or tell us where to get) pepper. Are we the only people that like pepper on food that has no flavor? NEXT. Just weird. This vegetarian /salad-obsessed family will NOT be back — a shame as I thought it could be a nice spot to meet other veggie friends or a place to stop post-work out, etc. Hugely disappointed. Sweet Tomatoes and Sandy’s, you’ve still got our business!

If you really absolutely have to have a salad, Tossed is the place to go. If you’re not the mood for a salad, you might want to skip this restaurant because they don’t do much else. I saw this restaurant going up and was interested in the idea. Once it opened checked out the website and found the most delightful thing — they had crepes on the menu. When I saw that, I was totally up for a trip to Tossed! Well, my definition of crepes and the one they have at Tossed are very different. I was expecting, well, crepes and they only offer a wrap called a crêpe. There is also no sense in pointing out the difference to an employee there because they’ll tell you there isn’t one. I, however, still believe there is and was really disappointed that I went in for a crêpe and got a tortilla. I can’t speak for the salads but I don’t think I’ll return after receiving my wrap. Everything did look fresh and well prepared but the salads seemed a little on the expensive side and you’ll end up paying a lot more if you want any extras. Like I said, if you want a salad — this may be the place for you. But, if you want a crêpe, go someplace else.
