UnWine on Almeda

Unwine on Almeda just may be my go to wine bar from now on. I’m not a big wine drinker, but I needed to find a place for my book club to meet. This place is awesome and did not disappoint! They have an extensive wine list (as they should), but they also have an excellent dinner menu and the food is on point! The portions are HUGE! The quesadilla tapas plate is basically a lunch portion. I had the chicken mango quesadillas. It was sooo good! The ladies in my group had pizza, the kale salad, and some other things that I can’t remember. Everyone enjoyed their food. Bill the owner was so nice and hospitable! This place is quaint and feels like a neighborhood bar. There’s an upstairs roof top area, but we didn’t go up there since it was chilly outside. They also have a small patio area. On top of the excellent wine and food, they had smooth jazz playing in the background which definitely helped to create a relaxing atmosphere! There’s a tiny bar area with a TV too and there seemed to be some regulars hanging out watching the basketball game. There’s a back parking lot that is shared between a few businesses. When we left around 9 pm the gate to the parking lot was closed, so Bill had to open it up for us. He said it’s usually open until midnight so I’m not sure what happened, but I’m glad our cars weren’t locked in! There’s also street parking if the lot is full (the lot is not very big). My visit to Unwine last night was just what I needed to unwind from a long stressful day. I’ll certainly be going back!

This is a must! The food, the wine, and The Desserts are wonderful. There is so much to love about this Houston Hotspot! The owners are inviting and welcoming! I live in East Texas and was looking for a mature atmosphere that I could enjoy and lucky me found Unwine! Everyone (owners and patrons) made me feel like family! Check it out you will not be disappointed.

Enjoyed the Butter Chardonnay and Big O salad. Really nice laid back spot!

Had great wine and yummy flat bread Asian style. Greeted and waited on by the very personable owner Mr McQueen. Nice cozy jazzy place. Give it a try you won’t be sorry.

Had a wonderful time. They’ve got an amazing selection of Rosés.
We will be going back for more wine and for tastings Overall, I really like that this place exists in my neighborhood.

I had my Birthday Girls Night Out at UnWine on 11÷7÷15 and the experience was awesome. I love the atmosphere, the music, and the staff especially my personal birthday song from Shemar! I was treated so nice by entire staff especially Chef Chase Davis who made sure my food and wine selections per taken care of for my party. The women in attendance ALL had great things to say about UnWine and all state they want to come back again. It was awesome I’m actually planning something for the roof area cause it is very sexy for a gathering. 5 thumbs up from me!!! Thanks UnWine Staff

Dine at Unwine! This place is FABulous with a capital FAB. It’s cute and quaint downstairs & upstairs is rooftop dining. The owner, Mr. McQueen is very personable & takes time out to greet every customer who comes in. He came to our table twice to make sure we were enjoying our dining experience.
The Food: delicious and unique. I mean my plate was so clean it looked like I licked it after the meal. I didn’t but I sure used my quesadilla to gather every bit of balsamic drizzle on my plate because it was that good!
The Wine: I’m literally in love. We ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir and got a sample of the Port. Next time I will order the Port. Gonna try something new each time.
Do yourself a favor & experience UNWINE ON ALMEDA! It’s great for date night or girls’ night out.

This place is a hidden gem. I was invited to a birthday party there Friday night. It is a small venue but the ambience is wonderful. We sat on the rooftop terrace which was very nice. I would have given them 5 stars except for two things, one, while the wine is good, it can be quite expensive, two, the food, could use some more flavor, especially the guac dip. It was terribly bland and the chips, gluten free, we’re also flavorless. But otherwise, a great place for a meet and greet or after– work wind down.

Great location, great wine, great atmosphere. The upstairs waiter, Nate, is very nice and attentive.

Unwine is a greet boutique wine bar. The staff and owner are very attentive and knowable if you need some help in making a wine selection. And if you are looking for a bite to eat the menu will not disappoint. Every visit has left me happier and wanting more.

«Wine Bar» is an understatement. The menu is extensive and hugely creative. The chef uses all of this wonderfully organic ingredients to create these amazing dishes… nothing is «basic» …every dish is lovingly prepared with just the right balance of flavors.
From Charcuterie to Sandwiches to the Orgasmic Salad (real name) and ahhhhhmmmmaaaaazzzzing Flat Breads… you’re bound to find something to pair with the yummy wine selections.
…the finale? Ménage Trois Pear Tart that’s to die for.

Cute wine bar! I will have to go back and enjoy the rooftop area next time. I had a glass of the Mascon Malbec and it was perfect for my palate! The venue is small and quaint but that’s what I like most about it. Although it’s on the small side the décor and ambiance is very nice. Nice date spot :-) Or just a girls night out! The owner and his family were very personable which made the experience even better.

My first visit was the past weekend with some of my friend girls. We had an AWESOME TIME. The food was wonderful. Excellent wine selections and personal attention from the owners. I will be back again and again.

Great atmosphere and ambiance. The owner was very nice and came to talk to us about his wines. I would definitely patronize it again and recommend the establishment. The cheese platter was very filling.

Absolutely wonderful place. Took a date for a glass of wine and dinner. Order both the wine and pizza recommended by the waitress/​bartender. They were both fantastic. (spice Asian pizza and the pear dessert is to die for)
During our visit, both owners came to chat and it was not like the chat you have with the manager at apple-​bees, I know his name, where else he works, etc.
Ever other patron of the place was also very nice. people often introduced themselves and I got two complement on my shirt.
I think Ill try the entire menu.

My boyfriend and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. I prefer it on a non-​busy night. like a Tuesday. I even had a birthday celebration with my girlfriends here one night. It is intimate and the food is bananas!!! Try the quesadillas or the sals!!! We come so often I feel like family almost.

My friend Nikki brought me here to celebrate my birthday. I was immediately greeted by Coco who sang me Happy Birthday. She escorted us upstairs and the view was stunning. She suggested different wines to us based on our preference. There were 3 other ladies on the patio that greeted us and we struck up a pleasant conversation. The best part of the evening was our conversation with the owner Bill and the chef Tangela came and asked us how our dinners tasted. We will definitely come back.

Great place! Just opened a few weeks ago in the 3^rd ward area and is already one of my favorite spots in town! Good food, good wine, good people, good atmosphere. This is definitely going to be my new spot whenever I just wanna go out and have a glass. The staff is very attentive and they make you feel right at home. Definitely try the pumpkin cheesecake. Exquisite!

Great customer service food, good wine selections and the food is flavorful and fun. On select nights there is have live music R&B, jazz. it’s an intimate setting with patio seating, which will be great in the Spring.
