I’m more of a dive bar kind of gal, so third floor isn’t my absolute fave. Compared to neighboring bars with super cheap beer specials on weekends, Third Floor just doesn’t cut it. The tap options are pretty awesome, though. They have a little bit of everything. I agree with some of the other reviews that Third Floor hasn’t found its«niche“as a bar, which can make it a bit unforgettable. Is it worth stopping by? Sure! Its centrally located, so walking to another bar isn’t a hassle.

Absolutely horrible staff. No sense of how to talk and they ended up ruining our evening!

This place isn’t bad for a bar. Drink prices are no bargain, but at least they have comfortable seating and a decent view out the windows. There is a nice patio as well, but it can get overrun with smokers. Staff is pretty friendly and I would recommend this as a chill place to hang out.

3rd Floor is located in the heart of downtown close to Dogwood, Shot Bar, and Pub Fiction. It’s actually in the same building as Pub Fiction. Rooftop bars are one of my favorite things in life and this is exactly what 3rd Floor is. You take the elevator to the the third floor and you’ve arrived. There’s a large bar in the middle of the space. There’s also a nice patio overlooking midtown. There are some things I like and some things I don’t like about 3rd floor. Pros: good music including a good amount of hits from the 90’s/early 2000’s(i.e. DMX, Notorious B.I.G., etc.). The kind of songs that take you back and make you reminisce on the good old days. Another pro, it’s a rooftop bar and that’s always a plus. Cons: it gets pretty packed so it sometimes takes a while to get a drink. There also isn’t a dance floor so what happens is people just start dancing right next to the bar. Drinks are also overpriced for what you get but hey they’re in a prime location so they can justify hiking up the prices.

Went last saturday with a friend. She and I had a great time, we met some cool people and the bartenders were very engaging, which they have been everytime I’ve gone to 3rd floor. My friend enjoyed herself, and she wants to go back!

Stopped in here last Saturday night because we were in town for the Jets v Texans game. The place was packed and the drinks were cold. Nuff said.

I went here a couple of weeks ago with my friend and let me tell you, the atmosphere is so fun! The ppl there were all young business professionals, minus a few old guys. but the crowd was so diverse. The drinks came out fast to my surprise because it was so packed. The music variety was okay, it was literally a variety or everything. I kinda wish they woulda played a lil more reggaeton or hip hop but because I like to dance.

Found this place just by doing a Unilocal search for places open on Sunday with outdoor seating. I have to admit that I have driven by this place several times but I had never wanted to fight the crowds for a table or drink at the bar. On Sunday the vibe was very laid back with a few patrons enjoying the day with a few drinks on the patio which was very enjoyable. The wait staff was decent. The drinks were on happy hour and weren’t great but for half off a carafe, it was fine. My group ordered the meat and cheese board and the pretzel. The pretzel was the bomb; it was warm, soft and tasty. The meat and cheese board was blah and that’s being generous. The meats for the most part were deli meats — why? I could have done without it and saved $ 15. I’ll keep this place in my back pocket for Sunday drinks at a place with food and a good view.

Very cool atmosphere overlooking the skyline. Had the meat and cheese tray and a giant soft pretzel– it was amazing! Great drink selections as well. Would highly recommend checking it out!

Nice view, good patio, no cover, not too crowed, no wait to get in, lots of beers on tap, close enough to the train to walk and near other bars for bar hopping. Best part is the photo op of downtown from the patio.

My boyfriend and I both love 3rd Floor. We love how spacious the layout is and the fact that the balcony has some of the best views in Houston. It can definitely get crowded at night, but it can accomodate quite a large crowd without feeling cramped. The drink menu is extensive with bottled and draft beers. There is also a wine list for wine lovers. I especially love their food. My boyfriend and I have yet to try anything that we don’t talk about for months after. The cheese and meat board is large, filling, and so tasty. The pretzel is also beyond good! The fruit mustard sauce that they pair with the pretzel is phenomenal. I could smear that on everything!!!

Another eh Midtown bar. I had a hard time figuring out what kind of bar it wants to be. Not quite clubby or fratty or divey or classy or upscale or trendy or casual. Maybe I was just there at an odd time(10pm on a Thursday)? But it was a hodgepodge. Not memorable. Good things I did notice? LOTS of beers on tap(some local options as well). Helpful, friendly staff. Nice, clean bathrooms.

I don’t go out much, as you can tell by the shift from bars/clubs to parks/museums. I guess that is what happens when you settle down. But on this particular night it was a guy’s night out and we were going HAM! We started the night here and what a great new addition to midtown. This is my kind of crazy night joint. They had so many beers on tap! There is an outdoor patio, which would be better if overlooked something. The view of downtown was beautiful though. As far as the crowd, it’s not packed, but there is a decent sized dance floor if you want to get your groove thing on! There is plenty of seating so you can post up and just people watch too. From my friend’s post, it seems I’m a bit late to the scene, but I still enjoyed it on my night out.

One of my favorite places in midtown. Seating is plentiful, view is awesome, and drinks are delicious. You aren’t packed in like you are at some of the other bars downtown. Space is good, guys.

One of the better spots in midtown on a Friday or Saturday spot for many reasons. Great patio with lots of seating if your just wanting to relax and chat with some friends over a drink. Inside the bar is pretty huge and usually it’s not too crowded so you’re able to get drinks quickly. Music here is great as well. Definitely enough room for dancing. Clean restrooms. You get the point, solid choice. 3rd floor really is just one of those places that does everything well. I think it really does benefit from not being swamped by so many people like the other popular bars in the area are. Note: not a Sunday Funday spot so don’t expect to see many people here unless it’s a Friday or Saturday.

I really enjoyed this place. The staff was knowledgable and friendly and not annoyed by the antics my friends and I usually carry on. The bartender suggested a cocktail, since we told him we wanted a carafe and he even made us a sample one. It was delicious and we were sold. The patio is fantastic. There were many open seats overlooking the city with views of the tvs for watching sports. The chairs were comfy and we were somewhat secluded so we could carry on with our loud laughter and catching up without being obnoxious to the other patrons. They brought us water and checked on us regularly. Sunday pricing is reasonable and the atmosphere is quenticential midtown. It’s a nice spot to chill without a blasting dj and swarms of people. I’ll definitely be back.

What a great place to have a beer or glass of wine! I have been here a few times now. and although I tend to steer clear of Midtown(too many guys in Columbia button downs, boat shoes, and cargo shorts…), somehow 3rd Floor isnt full of them yet. I will write on my recent Saturday night experience. We came in around 10:30pm, and immediately found a table outside. THEVIEWHEREISGREAT! If you can sit outside(weather depending of course), do it! The music was lively and fun without being insanely intrusive. You can actually hear the person sitting at your table. The bartenders are fast and attentive, and they have a great selection of craft beer, good wine selection, and decent spirit collection. Don’t come here expecting craft cocktails, it isn’t that kind of place. The setup is nice, the crowd is good, the staff is friendly, and the view is top notch. I really enjoy coming to 3rd Floor!

To start with great view of downtown, only obstructed by a few telephone poles. The bar has a nice inside as well. The seating area outside is nice. They do serve food, but I have never tried any. Went here specifically on Saturday for the half price bottles of wine. They have nice bottles, not your typical bar wine menu. Glasses are fine, but don’t expect Riedel. The service is excellent, but not overbearing. They serve, or least we were served, water with the wine. Note: They ID everyone.

Too expensive and too pretentious for my taste. Crown on the rocks cost me $ 11.91 or something like that. At least that’s how much I was being charged by my waitress. Although on the menu, Crown Royal was listed at $ 9. I gave her $ 14($ 12 for the drink and $ 2 tip) and I didn’t order another drink and left. I normally pay anywhere from $ 7 to $ 8.50 for Crown on the Rocks. No problem getting in(I was in t-shirt and jeans) and no line when I got there(around 10:30 pm on a Saturday night.) I’ll only come back if I have friends celebrating something. Otherwise, there are lots of other places in Midtown area that’s cheaper and better.
