This place deserves negative stars. My wife purchased 2 beers and they ended up charging us $ 75.00 after we signed for $ 13.00. We called the manager and left many messages but no callbacks. This happened in October and still no callback to solve this issue. Never ever going back.

On one of my last trips on Washington we made a quick stop inside of here. It’s a shot bar? It’s a hookah bar? Dance club? Not really sure but the place was kind of empty. We just stuck around for a drink and it «On to the next one».

Yep. 5 stars. Everything we needed, wanted and more. We swung by Washington St after hitting up St. Arnolds Brewery. FIRSTIMPRESSION — While this place didn’t open until 4pm, they let us in about 15 minutes early since we wandered in :) The general manager was very friendly and took good care of us until the cook arrived(albeit a few minutes late). APPETIZERS — We sampled a handful of the appetizers including the Southwestern Hummus, Greek Nacho’s, Chips and Queso and fried calamari. The appetizers were great. Good flavor and well made. They did take a bit to come out of the kitchen. but when you beat the cook there, thats to be expected!!! FOOD — We had a handful of the main courses. I personally Jalepeno Pepper Jack Bacon Burger with Chicken. They put it on a Jalepeno roll of some sort. and it is FREAKINGAMAZING. The burger was very good, not great, but more than good enough to have me come back. My wife had the mac n cheese sliders. This is a bit deceptive. she expected mini hamburgers topped with mac n cheese. NOTE — there is no beef just mac and cheese! They were good, just not what she expected. The rest of our group was impressed with their food and the experience overall. FROSTYBEVERAGES — They have a slew of liquor in ice cold taps… They also have a handful of beer on tap. The beer taps were not extremely cold, they are in the process of being fixed. More than enough to keep you happy. Overall great experience. I hate the fact the parking lot cost’s money. but not much you can do about that. We will be back. maybe I can steal some of the Jalepeno bread!

I went on a Thursday night at 7pm. There was a group of about 35 of us gathered to chat. We were nearly the only people there. There might have been five or so others. The waitresses were very attentive, cute and friendly. Drinks were generously poured. The place seems more bar than grill. I didn’t try the food but the pizza’s looked yummie and cheesy. Unfortunately, the A/C went out and it was very hot inside. Add to that about 9 pm the DJ came in and started blasting music. We couldn’t talk anymore and disbanded. I guess they were giving us a hint to clear out to make way for the younger late night crowd which consisted of those five others at the time. Don’t know if it picked up but they had the atmosphere to accommodation a party but not conversation. Too bad they didn’t ease the music in… we would have stayed a lot longer.

Decent bar, décor and set up is similar to Kung Fu but it’s so sad here. Mainly because it’s absolutely empty. The bar staff is friendly, but not hot. Actually, they’re kinda weird. They do have $ 5 Hennessy VSOP’s though. Their $ 6 appetizers aren’t that great, very typical n bland. Everyone just stops by, actually just walks in, then walks right out…

We had gone here after work for happy hour and to our surprise, we had an awesome time! Joseph, the GM was very accommodating, and brought us appetizers that were to die for. You usually don’t expect appetizers to be all that great, but the food was incredible. We actually were at Kung Fu Saloon, but they didn’t have any food, and the bathrooms were nasty, so we’re glad that we ended up @ V 21… this is definitely our new secret HH spot!

V21 is definitely a bar first. We had the tot tower… over rated, deep fried mashed potatoes served with ranch and cold marinara. The empanadas were delicious and the pizza was just ok… nothing exciting, crust didn’t blow me away. The service was good but the seating was kind of strange if you wanted to have a meal. The prices were ok and it shares a parking lot with Kung Fu that you can park at for free if you are going to V21.

WARNING: CHECKYOURBILL!!! They charged me full price for wine that was $ 5 during happy hour. When I confronted them about it, they first said it was only $ 1 off(which would still be $ 7) but anyway they refunded me the difference and slammed the register drawer followed by sly remarks to the other staff. Really??? Anyway, just count your pennies to make certain the bill is accurate before you walk out the door. Oh yeah and keep your credit card receipt just in case they try to submit a different amount than originally charged.

I called for a reservation to host my birthday brunch for a party of 17 and when I showed up not only was the greeting warm and friendly, but they decorated our table with a variety of balloons. It was a really nice touch– it made my experience all the greater. The ambiance of this place was amazing– it’s very swank in style. Nice music combined with delicious food and an outstanding level of service. Not to mention $ 2 mimosas and $ 10 carafes, it’s simply unheard of. To say I was impressed is an understatement. I absolutely loved my experience here and there’s no doubt that I’ll become a regular and will recommend this place to all of my family and friends. Thank you V21 for helping make my birthday phenomenal!

V 21 is a pretty cool place, and is definitely worth a try. In addition to the vodka on tap(which is something out of my dreams), the food is pretty good, and the service is very quick. V 21 is the type of restaurant one likes to see succeed, and I get the feeling that as it works out the kinks of being a new restaurant, it will reach its potential. Definitely a good spot to start a night on Washington.

It’s a new bar/restaurant off of Washington right across Kung Fu. Went here to meet some friends for a drink and I’d say, they have a good variety of vodka drinks and bar food on the menu. Parking is pretty tight, well it’s Washington Ave. If you’ve never been here, I think you should at least check it out.

It was cool that they had ice cold Vodka on top, but that’s about the only thing that seemed to wow me. I thought I would try this new place since it was across from Kung Fu Saloon’s and maybe grab a bite. The drinks were okay, nothing special. I ordered the Mango dessert, which was good. The service was quick, but they had to since the restaurant/bar was pretty dead on a Wednesday night.

If you have never been to this place, it’s worth a try because it’s new and has been open for just about 2 weeks now. I went there to count down for the new year and it was packed! oh c’mon, it’s NYE i know! it was cool n fun. But, if you are looking for some place nicer, fancier, and lots more fun on a regular basis, go to Bayou Live or the Red Door. Parking is limited and may be difficult over here.

I considered only giving 2 stars to V21, but decided to be generous since I went on their second day open. I think it has potential to improve, so I’m interested to try it again at a later date and see how they’ve changed. My boyfriend and I had driven by the empty space for a couple months and had been curious about what type of place would be going in. With a great location right next to Kung Fu, we had high hopes. As soon as it opened, I was ready to give it a try. I looked at their menu online ahead of time and it looked interesting, but I couldn’t really tell what type of place this would be. Wine bar? Cocktail lounge? Tapas? Gastropub? Turns out it’s a strange hybrid of all of the aforementioned. We went on a Friday night and I wasn’t sure if we would need reservations, so I tried giving them a call. The phone number on the website didn’t work and seemed to go to somebody’s personal number, so we decided to take a risk and go anyway. Turns out not a lot of people know it’s open, because it was practically empty inside. The inside is actually really nice, and could be well suited for date nights, ladies nights, happy hours, or any small group of friends, really. They had sofas in a lounge area, high tables, and low tables. The outdoor seating also looked really nice, and I think it would be great for when the weather starts to warm up. You could definitely go for dinner and drinks and end up staying through the majority of the night. It makes the transition from restaurant to bar pretty smooth. When it came time to order food, my boyfriend and I were a little confused. The prices seemed steep but the portions sounded small. We couldn’t tell right away how the plates were sized, but the waitress informed us that it was tapas-style and everything was meant to be shared. Our original order included the charcuterie plate, steak kabob, and steak and arugula salad. Turns out they were out of steak(WHAT?!) and so we went with the scallops instead of the salad and got chicken kabobs instead of steak. With the place being so empty, I had to wonder– where did all the steak go? The food turned out to be really great though, and with 3 plates between the two of us, it was the perfect amount. The scallops were tender but crispy on the outside and the corn relish gave it a nice kick. The kabobs were good, but I would have preferred them with steak(just sayin’). The charcuterie plate definitely stood out to us though and the quail made it very unique. I would order it again for sure, but would really have liked to try the steak and arugula salad. Hopefully next time they’ll have it available. Right before it was time to leave, a trip to the bathroom knocked a star off this review. Really, a bathroom attendant?! There were 3 tables full at this place on a Friday night(at dinner time) and they’ve got a bathroom attendant? Honestly, it’s the first time I’ve seen one in Houston since I’ve lived here. It made me wonder what type of vibe they’re really aiming for. Maybe they should have sent the bathroom attendant on a trip to Kroger to re-stock their steak supply, instead of sitting around waiting to hand somebody a clean paper towel. With all of that being said, I thought that for it only being their second day open, the experience was pretty good. I’m really interested to give it another try later and see what, if any, changes they’ve made.
