Walked in at 1235. Hostess asked if we had reservations, we say no. She says that they are full and to find a seat at the bar. We walk to the bar and there are no seats. My smart ass decides to make a reservation online on my phone. I walk back up to front at 1240(my friend thinks this is a ridiculous idea by the way) and I tell a different hostess that I have a 1 pm reservation and I get seated IMMEDIATELY. My friend’s mouth dropped. It was hilarious and ridiculous at the same time but we took it! We had a very sweet and patient waitress. We ordered cocktails and they were both delicious. I had the John Daly and my friend had the«I wanna know what love is». The food was great too(I had the Oaxaca scramble and my friend had the salmon) and came up super fast. The only issue we really has was the seating issue so minus a star for that.

Be sure to call in for a reservation! Awesome spot in the Midtown area~ yummy Sunday brunch with different options to stay healthy, but to cheat a little :) Their cocktails are a hit or miss for me~ so sip open minded and be sure to ask the bartenders(if yay sit at the bar) what they suggest. The beef wagu Benedict that most of my friends ordered was superb! Cali-vibes, cool waiters, and a beautiful layout of a restaurant. Would be 5 stars, but I ordered the Avocado and Toast and subbed out the toast for a jalapeño scone(ITWASEPIC!) and the«green harrissa» sauce it came with was littering the dish. Harrissa is a morroccaan spicy sauce… Instead I got literally a mint slop that destroyed the meal~ I think the mint might have been a mistake for cilantro or another savory/spicy herb… It was a total failure! I was very disappointed but still the place is greatness !! Can’t wait to go back and explore the menu more :)

«I know you can be overwhelmed, and I know you can be underwhelmed, but can you ever just be whelmed?» Came here for Saturday brunch with the girls. We started with coffee and mimosas. I ordered the daily omelet(squash blossoms + asparagus + queso fresco + salsa verde) with egg whites and spinach on the side. It was tasty especially considering the egg whites which can be a risky order. One friend got the wagyu short rib Benedict and was extremely unhappy as she tasted something gritty in her food. The waitress was quick to rectify this problem though. Otherwise everyone was happy. The girl who got the nutella peanut butter bacon toast definitely won the day though. The girls who got mushroom toast and French toast were happy with their orders too. Service was good except my water didn’t stay full which is kinda my # 1 requirement. Oh well. Decorations are neat, very 80s themed. Space is open and can get noisy when they’re busy. Not a bad choice, not the best choice. But worth trying once for brunch.

Finally made it for brunch. We made reservations and our table was ready right on time. The ambiance is nice and airy. They could pack more tables if they want to but I prefer the open space. Drinks are bland and not at all exciting. Mimosa was okay. Bloody Mary sounded fantastic on the menu and it looked promising when it arrived. It fell flat big time. Not spicy, not tomatoey, I can’t even describe it. The flat white was cold and too bitter. Overall, drinks were my least favorite part of my meal. We tried the doughnuts and chicken and banana toast. Doughnuts and chicken were dry and way overrated. My friend raved about her banana toast. The beef sausage as a side is a must. The other sides are okay. I think eggs are the way to go here based on the dishes I saw coming out of the kitchen. Service started out great, then our server disappeared. We would have left earlier and cut down the wait time for people who needed a table if we could have gotten our check sooner! Came home with some pastries. Underwhelming. Reservations + food + ambiance make it worth the visit as long as you have good company.

I read the reviews on Unilocal and decided to give it a try. This is a relatively new spot in Midtown that is trending. The atmosphere is trendy, but noise level is loud. Since I was alone, I sat at the bar. Everything looked great, from. the drinks to the food, but everything was bland. I guess this place is trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator in spice. The Bloody Mary was more like tomato soup. The omelette of the day needed salsa just to give it flavor. Even the syrup for the Cake Doughnuts & Fried Chicken was too runny. Service was good, and they readily agreed to replace the Bloody Mary with a Mimosa, which is hard to screw up. All in all, if you have friends that care about this thing, then you should go just to say you’ve gone. Otherwise, best to skip this beautiful, but bland and over-priced restaurant. If you want good chicken and waffles, the Breakfast Klub is a better bet.

This is one of those places that the OLD David, would have bookmarked and visited within the first few weeks of it opening. However, NEW David is no longer a hip ITLer, and visits it almost a year later. I came in for brunch, closer to closing, and it was still packed! It’s definitely, what you would expect from a hip/trendy spot. My fiancée finds these places adorable and cute! I however, only care about the food and service. It being close to closing, but all the tables were still full, so we opted for open seating at the bar. We didn’t drink, but we still ate! I had the doughnuts and chicken and my fiancée had the soft shell crab benedict. Both dishes were delicious! The doughnuts were fluffy and not too sweet, the syrup came on the side so I was able to dip both the chicken and the doughnuts in them. The soft shell crab benedict, kept the soft shell crab very crispy. I had mine with potatoes and she had hers with spinach. We had excellent service from the bartender, and their water has been infused with cucumber!

Came here for brunch for the first time on a Sunday. We expected a wait, so we made reservations for two for when we would arrive in 45 minutes. I would recommend doing this on their website or on ! It’s super easy to do, and we were sat at our table within minutes, while there were many people waiting to be seated. They have ample seats inside, and they have an outdoor patio with 3 – 4 tables. I ordered the peanut butter toast, because Nutella. It also had banana, bacon, and an egg on it. Was unsure, if it would all work together, but it did and was so good! My friend ordered the house smoked salmon toast with dill mascarpone and truffle egg. Also tasty! So far, they’ve gotten their toasts down! I love the industrial look and homey feel of the place! I want to visit again and try their desserts at their bakery and drinks at their bar. By the time we finished our meal(which was around 1:30 p.m.) and visited the bakery, many of the baked goods were gone. Will definitely be back!

I was up early and needed coffee and a snack while in Houston recently(that one hour time difference from the east coast gave me crazy jet lag). As others have noted, they are open at 6, although at least on the Saturday I was there, that means that only their bakery is open. No biggee. Pastries and espresso for me.

This place deserves a second chance. I think. My first visit to W+M was Sunday brunch. Not spectacular food, not a great waiter(at all). Overall I was unimpressed, but I think there is so much potential. I could be judging a book by its cover on this one, but I think W+M could pull off some delicious food, well made drinks, and fine fine fine baked goods… it just hasn’t yet. I do want to go again and try some different menu items. I ate the B.L.A.T. and it was meh-L-A-T. Nobody at the table took a bite and said«Wow!» In a food city like Houston, that should be a requirement these days.

Came for brunch on Saturday around 11:45 and it was pretty packed. Parking lot sucks here since there’s an abundant amount of spots for«compact cars» but giant SUVs take up a majority of them. –_-. No. the interior of the place was really nice though. Lot’s of natural light and industrial with clean lines. Service: the hostess was really great but that’s where the good service stops. Our waiter sucked. I’m sorry to say it but he was terrible. Actually, I think the entire restaurant staff was meh. Had food runners come up to other waiters asking if they had such and such. Seems like there’s not really a system here. Back to our designated waiter. Terrible service. He tried to remember drink orders, got side tracked and had to ask again. Dude, you’re not impressing anyone by attempting to remember 2 drink orders. Waters had to be asked to be refilled. Overall just bad. Get it together people. Food: I ordered the donuts and fried chicken. Again, meh. The fried chicken is really just a breaded filet of chicken that is dry as all hell. The donut was also dry. I’m a big fan of cake donuts, but they’re supposed to be moist on the inside. Mine was crumbly. The only good part of my meal was the spinach. Tried the Salmon and that was decent. The cracked egg pizza left a lot to be desired in my opinion. Bake Shop: picked up a cranberry citrus glazed muffin for later and it was good. Would recommend using some orange zest inside the actual muffin, but that’s just me. On the fence about returning but they do take reservations so there’s that.

We called in ahead of time to ensure seating and brunch was still available and sure enough they serves brunch until 3pm on Saturdays. The hostess kindly took our names down and we were seated immediately upon arrival. Our server, or lack thereof, never helped us but luckily a staff member noticed and took over. The food was pretty darn good. We had the smoked salmon and the donuts and fried chicken. I’d hate to say it but the smoked salmon is quite doable at home. The bread was too hard for us to cut through. I enjoyed the smoked salmon with a side of perfectly crisp and seasoned potatoes. My boyfriend ordered the donuts and chicken and it was delicious! The dish is basically two donuts with a fried chicken in the middle. It was quite delicious but very heavy. We also got a side of the sausage which I would HIGHLY recommend. So good! Each entrée was about $ 14. We also decided to try their vanilla lattes and it did not disappoint! Overall I really enjoyed Weights + Measures and would come back!

Ample seating/good bakery/coffee shop/nice bar to wait at . The wait was only 20 min on a Saturday around 12. Brunch egg pizza had a great crust and a lot of flavor. Would not recommend the stale, unsavory fried chicken and donut sandwich The place/décor has potential but the crowd was not as uplifting as I would like for Saturday brunch.

Came here for brunch on. Saturday. Prompt service, and Taylor was a great waitress with great recommendations. Mimosas, Bloody Mary, and very tasty good! The Avocado Toast is very interesting. It has a green harissa sauce, very fragrant and silky. The house smoked salmon toast was delicious!!! The star was the French toast, and I’ve never been a fan of French toast!!! They soak the bread to make it taste like custard… Mmmmmmm, they brown it perfectly, and it’s just awesome. If you order it as a side like we did, order the kids plate. Is more than enough. I look forward to coming back. It was great!

I came here for brunch with a couple of friends to meet up with one of our out of town friends. We made reservations, however we were not allowed to be seated even when a majority of our party arrived. Everyone had to be there before we were seat. That’s fine, however I was disappointed that even after our party arrived we still had to wait about 10 to 15 minutes for our table to be ready. After being seated and throughout our whole meal, service is practically non existent in this place. Our cups of coffee and water were never refilled unless we flagged our waitress. Some of us had ordered mimosas, and since we were sitting by the bar we could clearly see our drinks ready to be serve. However, our waitress didn’t get them to us for about 10 minutes. I really wanted to get up myself to grab our drinks since we couldn’t find our waitress anywhere. Food was entirely mediocre. My husband ordered the house smoked salmon, and the crust of the pumpernickel was entirely inedible(extremely chewy and hard to eat or cut off). I ordered the cake donuts & fried chicken, and the chicken was definitely on the dry side. Overall, none of my friends were very impressed with the food. At the end of our meal, this place also refuses to split checks unless you want to divide the check evenly between everyone in your party. I’ve had friends in the restaurant business that have always told me how easy it is to split checks so having this restaurant deny being able to split checks doesn’t go well for me. In addition, our waitress didn’t even leave us a pen to write down the amounts, and I had to go get her to give us a pen since I didn’t want to wait another 10 to 15 minutes for her to appear. Overall, the only thing I can say I enjoyed about this place was how they remodeled the old warehouse. Other that, I was very disappointed with this place and don’t see myself going back.

Visited the bakeshop this AM and shared the citrus muffin and almond + chocolate croissant with a friend. The croissant was a bit smaller than I had expected(they were not on display), but it was really yum. The muffin was great as well, esp the crunch on top. Employees were friendly and there was plenty of parking(Sun. 9am).

This was a good spot, but I can’t say I would return if I were alone. If a group wanted to come here though, I’d be back. I got the chicken BLT with a side of the blue chips. The blue chips were pretty heavenly, but the sandwich was just a sandwich. I also got a croissant for later and I can say that was great stuff. It wasn’t great enough for me go back alone, but it was great. The blue chips were house made chips with chunks of blue cheese and a white cheese sauce drizzled over it. The bread for the BLT was good, but it was cut poorly so one side was very thin and falling apart. Otherwise it was a decent sandwich, but nothing I remember enough to crave again — like the blue chips.

It was a beautiful Sunday morning — enough of a reason for this night owl to wake up early for brunch. Parking is a pain for any restaurant in Midtown. For a 5000 square foot space, the parking lot is relatively small. There’s plenty of street parking around the restaurant. So, we were good. Also, definitely make reservations for this place because it gets full on weekends. A couple of my friends came slightly late. But, W+M can only hold your reservation for 15 minutes, then they’ll just seat you wherever they find space. I love the modern industrial design of this place. The first thing you notice coming in is the lovely bakery attached to the restaurant. The smell of pastries and coffee woke up my senses. I did buy some pastries to take home with me, such as the blueberry danish, chocolate croissant, and the pecan roll. The chocolate croissant was the tastiest of the three. Once everyone in our group arrived, we were seated at a spot in the restaurant where we could see the open kitchen. Our waitress was good, and was attentive to our needs. For starters, we ordered some flat whites and a café mocha. I’m a coffee lover, and I didn’t think that my flat white was strong enough for me. My friend who ordered the same agreed with me. Our other friend doesn’t really drink coffee. But, she enjoyed her mocha. I have to say I feel slightly jipped because our flat whites were smaller than the mocha(see photo). I did also order the popular cardamom doughnuts for our group. None of us found this very impressive. I was trying to taste the cardamom, but it really just tasted like a honey-glazed doughnut. For the entrees, we ordered the sausage pizza with purple onions and basil, avocado toast, and breakfast pizza. My friend and I loved the sausage pizza. Good flavor, texture, and portion size. The avocado toast was just ok. The green sauce wasn’t fantastic, and the portion was small. The plate was even larger than the entrée of avocado toast itself. Our other friends liked their breakfast pizza. But, they were too full to finish it. Overall, I think this is a chic restaurant to have gatherings like birthdays, graduation parties, or just a girls day/night out.

Quick tips: Great brunch for my husband and I since he loves a sweet brunch, but i want savory. Try the bake shop extravaganza to sample a number of their delicious baked items. Reservations available on opentable and they get fairly busy on Saturday and Sunday. Food: Bakeshop extravaganze comes with five bake shop items including their muffins, scones, doughnuts, croissants etc. Try it for some variety, but it may be a bit too much for just two people. Avocado toast is delicious, but a little light on the avocado. Check out the specials menu as well — I got a sausage omelette off the specials menu that was delicious. The home style potatoes that came on the side were also delicious with their house-made aioli. Ask for a side of it(definitely a splurge, but so worth it!). Service: Great friendly service. Ask you server for the recommendations, they are very knowledgable. Ambiance: Casual trendy. Perfect place for a fun girl brunch or date.

Friend suggested coming here for light bites and dessert. The parking is horrendous as it’s shared with a few other establishments. You’re better off doing valet if that’s your thing. The bakery portion is indeed impressive but the only problem I had was how exposed the desserts were. I guess I expect doughnuts and pastries(read: sticky) and other edible items to be bagged, boxed, or some other method of the covered variety. But no, they are strategically placed near the cashier, which is also the most high-traffic spot next to the door. Awesome. Had the gnocchi and a punch. The light bites did heavy damage on my wallet, and the only saving grace was the Dough Knots. FYI: bakery items are half off towards the end of the evening.

I went here with a friend for a 10 am Thursday brunch. I was immediately greeted with a fresh, open space and super high ceilings. All the décor was modern, simple, and clean. The first thing I noticed was this restaurant focuses on baking, as their were many delicious breads next to a glass wall enclosing the baking area where you could watch skillful hands kneading bread and the largest kitchen-aid like machine I’ve ever seen. Even though bread is their specialty, the waiter easily accommodated my gluten-free needs. We both had the cup o’ joe, a solid orange mug of endless, steaming black coffee. I had the peanut butter and replaced the brioche toast with delicious home style potatoes. The fried eggs were cooked perfectly over easy and they dressed my potatoes with their hot, golden yolk. The crispy, buttery bananas and nutella were a sweet ending to my meal. My friend had the mushroom toast and enjoyed it. The service was gracious and allowed us to talk and refilled our coffee long after we payed our check. I recommend this place for brunch as they even offer it on weekdays, especially if you like baked goods. I’m sure it gets crowded on weekends. Two thumbs up.
