Whataburger

So I’ve heard all the hype about the quality of Whataburger. Was not impressed. Maybe because this was an airport location quality was not good. Better than McDonald’s, similar to Burger King.

I’m not going to elaborated much on a fast food burger joint so here goes.
Not much seating here so plan on bagging it and finding a spot elsewhere to eat. The food was as ordered which many times is a miracle in itself. Overall it’s decent but plan on spending $ 10 or so for a regular burger meal and $ 12 or more of you want a double burger.

Good burger. Spicy ketchup option is awesome. Everything was hot and flavorful. Very good fast food burger and fries. Not greasy or cold. Great value at $ 7 with a large drink.

Honestly the best fast food burger Ive ever had. You can tell its real meat not like mcdonalds. Loved it all, the breakfast taquitos were great too! would come back

When flying through Houston, I thought I should try a local place. Their burgers are more than filling and I couldn’t finish it. The burger was pretty smashed, not like the photo. The staff were friendly. I also liked how I could substitute apples for fries with the meal. You can stay somewhat healthy with a burger, right?!

Beware Credit Card Skimmers somewhere in this airport. Watch your cards carefully or use cash. If you see an employee’s phone out notify a manager and/​or airport police. Camera phones have high quality optics and can discreetly record your card’s information. Regular Whataburger locations have contactless payment terminals or customers can swipe their own card. Here those terminals are suspiciously absent. Food is good, typical Whataburger.

Slow. For a place where everyone is going somewhere in a hurry you might think there would be more staff for this popular burger shop. The food is up to chain standards but the service is dog shit slow so they get 2 stars.

Just had a hot breakfast here: 530am on a Saturday.
Taquitos were made to order and coffee was self serve. All tasted great.
The lady at the register put a smile on my face. Excellent service.
I’m sure this place can get packed during peak hours, but today it’s quiet as a coffee shop.

Whataburger is one of my favorite burger places besides In-​N-​Out but as far as ordering and waiting it makes you feel like you are at In-​N-​Out due to the lengthy wait. However this is an excellent choice for those who don’t want to eat overpriced airline food. If you have a rush for your flight, early arrival is suggested, especially if you are in another terminal besides Terminal B since taking the Skyway (IAH’s version of the Plane Train is required).

This is my favorite place for burgers in Texas! The bun is so thin and large, the meat has a different flavor, and the thin fries are good enough for me!
I’m glad that I had a connection at IAH so I could try them again at the food court of Concourse B.
A must have if you normally have Burger King, MacDonalds, or other similar burgers.

I tried Whataburger for the very first time ever at the insistence of a local, it turns out its the most overpriced and boring crappy burger of any chain restaurant. I don’t see the appeal at all. it takes forever to get your order here, very busy place with long lines. Dining area is super small and super crowded. I get it, its an airport but still would suggest eat something else while at IAH. save your money.

The worst Whataburger I have been to, the service is so bad that I don’t understand why I even bother anymore. No one really listens to you order because they are too busy talking. I asked for onion rings not fries, and where is my order?! They think someone else took it! Well I have ears and was standing within 10 ft I know what #757 sounds like if I heard it! The managers are a waste, the chick is sometimes too busy flirting with my co-​workers.

Friendly and fast service, although it is a very busy place. The fries and Whataburger was hot /​warm, tastes good also. Portion size filled me up. I would have liked to try several other food items on their menu but my stomach can only hold so much. Next time I will try the strawberry shake or the chocolate one. I will be back

After messed up. It took forever to be served — one cashier needed register tape (understandable) and the other was clicking out. Once I ordered, it took over ten minutes to receive my food. A whole line of people who placed orders were complaining that it was taking so long. No explanation for the delay was given.
My Texas coworkers suggested this as a lunch option. I got a Whataburger, and it seemed like a Burger King wannabe. It was about the size of a Whopper, but it had no flavor. The fries were some of the worst I have had as well. They were bland and something seemed off. At least it was cheap…

The food is what you would expect: cooked quick and decently sized portions. Not too healthy but if you’re here that’s not a priority anyway.
⁴⁄₅ for speed and quantity. –1 for quality and area being tight.

Okay so I have to start by saying what the heck was I thinking getting a burger at 9:00am? Guess since I was up at 3:00 to fly and had no breakfast it sounded like a marvelous idea. NOT!
The prices here were pretty good and the variety of burgers certainly teased the mental palate so being a bacon lover (my breakfast justification) I thought I would try the bacon burger and enjoy a little combo of breakfast and lunch. The burger looked pretty good and came with fries and a drink. Your typical combo. The drink size was pretty big and the burger was definitely bigger than any fast food chain. So one bite was pretty good but no ketchup which I had to go back up to get. Still pretty tasty. Before I put on the ketchup I took a 2^nd bite and hit something hard and super sharp. I opened the burger and found a huge piece of white plastic.
The employees didn’t even know where it could have come from but it was kind of mixed in with the lettuce. I just don’t know how anyone could not see this when assembling the burger as it is not a small piece of plastic at all (see picture). The staff were very apologetic and mortified but no one offered to reimburse me. They did offer another burger though. Really! I know they were trying to do their job but plastic is not on my diet list although if it were I might be more compliant with meal intake.
Oh well couldn’t give zero stars and staff were really nice but not a place I am going back to whether it was anyone’s fault or not they need better quality control.

Okay my crewmembers was raving about this place, so I decided to give it a go had the combo #1. Ordered the onion rings instead of fries and instead of a soda I ended up getting a chocolate milkshake.
The burger was okay, but the chocolate milkshake was delicious. The onion rings was tasty. Make sure you get the spicy ketchup :-)

Ok for the good. It is great having real food after spending a moth in Angola at the Houston airport. Bravo.
The good; I ordered four taquitos after a long 14 hour flight from Luanda. In my humble opinion. Egg cheese and sausage in a gooey great mess of a meal. Pretty cheap and just love em
The bad: Servers who act like working there is pure hell. They could not look more miserable if I took a puppy away from them. I truly put one out by asking for half and half for my coffee. The horror.
Despite the terrible customer service the food is decent for fast food.

WHATABURGER for a weary traveler!
I have heard the hype about this place for years. NEVER tried it. We don’t have this place in California and whenever I was in Houston area (the airport) I would forget because I was more interested in having HEIFER sliced fresh from the carcass and cooked to perfection!
So on my way to NOLA I had a layover going and coming and when I checked in to the airport a Unilocal friend said he always wanted to try one. So since I had already stopped somewhere I told him I would try one on the way back!
So I’m back in Houston, TX and saw the sign, stood in line with all the other weary and starving travelers to grab something to eat. I got a basic cheese burger with all the fixings… hold the tomato! The line was long and no one cared! I guess they figured a burger is better than the pre-​boxed food the airlines try to sale you on the flight! And if I’m going to fork over $ 10 bucks I might as well get something warm and tasty.
My food came up in no time! The place was buzzing with customers and staff trying to handle all the travelers needs with a quickness so they could catch there next flight out! The employees were SUPER DUPER FRIENDLY and oozed with that SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY and CHARM despite the long lines, chaos and irritated tired travelers. Not sure what formula they are using but its working!
My burger was up in no time and I was off to make my connection flight home! Cuz I’m going back to Cali, Cali, Cali. I’m going back to Cali… I don’t think so! For those of you not alive and kickin in the 80’s you probably didn’t get the lyric reference by LL Cool J!
Anywho once I settled into and we were flying the friendly skies I busted open my burger and got a cranberry and cup of water from the flight attendant!

My first bite was on point! Not good or bad but I was starving and beggars can’t be choosers. I actually enjoyed it but it wasn’t all that to me! I think I have been spoiled by the gourmet burgers that I eat these days that are all dressed up with egg, and special sauces like bacon fig artichoke lemon truffle sauce… I made that up but most have some fancy sauce that packs a punch!
This was just your typical cheese burger. Maybe INO or CJ quality! It didn’t blow my skirt up but it didn’t kill me either! It severed it purpose which was keeping me from truing into a hungry witch with a «B» and loosing it on some misfortunate airport employee that happen to cross my path!
I would probably stop there again if I was leaving out the same terminal. I believe this place is located in terminal B or C. I can’t really remember since I was a little delirious from canceled flight, re-​booking, long day at the airport and flying! But it is located around all the other eating places so you really can’t miss it! And then you could always ask if you have a little time to go from terminal to terminal on the train.
They are pretty quick so once you hop on the train you can probably grab your food and still get to your gate in time! Service was GREAT and a smile goes a long way when you’re tired and lugging around luggage and souvenirs!
Give them a try if you’re in the area!
