So this place is pretty new and I’ve only been on Tuesday when they have the live jazz band. Love that band. Place was pretty empty both times I went. There alot of TVs which I think would be great for football watching but I would only come here to watch a game if they have some type of drink specials due to their prices. The bartenders are friendly and will let you taste any beer you choose. I didn’t eat but they do offer food. Crowd was mostly men in their 30s-40s. First time, I went, there were several couples there listening to the band Yes, there are alot of taps but I’m just not a fan of their selections or their prices. It’s cool that you can get 10, 16, 20 ounce. But it’s the same beers you can get from Flying saucer for 4.75 pint. Here it’s 4.25 for a 10 ounce Real Ale, 6 or more for 16 ounce pint. 9 bucks for oscar blues 16 ounce. Some of these beers are not even high alcohol content and I’ve never paid .9 bucks for beer and I love me some IPAs. Some folks and I were looking at their beer list and some of the prices are a little much for some of those beers Just my opinion What takes me back to places that specialize in beers is originality of selection not quantity, such as Hans Bier Haus who always has at least 4 or 5 beers that you can’t find anywhere else in town and probably have never seen or tried before. Everything here I can get right down the street from my current location at Hans or Local Pour. I’m sure they will change some taps around and hopefully make a few price adjustments. I’ll be back for the music every now and then

If Hay Merchant and South Beach Night Club were to have a really ugly baby, it’s name would be Worhals. This location is easy enough to get to, with 2 free parking lots across the street. It can be a super shady area at night and if I ever were to think a bum would be hiding behind a corner waiting to attack, it would probably be around this part of town. So you walk in and whoop whoop bathrooms are right there! They have the entrance set up kind of like what it feels like walking into a movie theater. Inside it looks like the interior decorator got very confused, started with an idea of club, quickly changed their mind to a restaurant and then slapped a bunch of taps on the wall. Pop/club/deep beat music is pumped through out. The beer selection is great but the prices don’t make me want to have more than 1 or 2 drinks here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Attentive would be an understatement. It could be because they hired some great bartenders or it could be we were 1 of 3 other groups of people, so they had some time on their hands. At 11:00 on a Saturday, this place should have had a healthy flow of customers. So a word of advice, either take out the tables and make the large area a dance floor so that you can lean more in a club direction or kill the neon lights and make it more of a relaxed atmosphere for the laid back craft beer crowd.

Let me start by saying, I am SOTHRILLED someone finally did something awesome with the old Sammy’s spot. Aside from it being across the shady Mcdonalds on Main, the location is perfect since its still in Midtown and a short drive from downtown. I cant wait to hit this place after work for happy hour. It has a great laid back atmosphere, and Enrique the bartender is awesome! I went with a friend who is into the beer variety, and I was sure I would get my normal Vodka tonic, but after Enrique explained a bit about the different kind of beers, I went with the Purple Haze. LOVEDIT! And the ACE pear was mighty refreshing. Maybe they’re both girl beers, but either way I liked them! They had a limited food menu when I went, so I tried the burger. It was a good burger, but fries needed more seasoning. I will definitely try something else when I go back, from what I hear they will have a some tasty things on the menu. Oh and can’t beat the free parking lot right across the street! Overall, its a nice change to the other Midtown watering holes.

This is the new midtown spot that opened up where Sammie’s used to be on the bottom floor of that living complex. Parking is across the street and free. Watch leaving items in your car though. the bus station and that sketch McDonalds is across the street, and there were lots of people just wandering around. Just be cautious folks(and its still free!) A friend of mine is going to start working here and invited me to come down. It is open to the public at this point, and man its really impressive on the inside! The concept is a beer heavy menu, but they have a really pretty full bar area as well. The beer selection is super impressive! They had a great selection of Texas and regional beers. The bartenders were super nice and helpful! They do have a menu, it wasn’t quite ready yet. My friends had the burger with the brisket, and they were raving about it. I also saw a chicken sandwich with pineapple aoili. I think they are trying to really get away from the typical bar food thing. There are TONS of tv screens plus a big projector, so a great place for football and other sporting events. The feel was just really cool, honestly. I really liked this place. I will add it to my regular rotation!

Huge tap wall. Friendly staff without pretension. Food is great for pub food. The Texas poppers are _insane_.
