I’m surprised to hear poor reviews with this doctor! First time meeting the Dr. Z, he appeared distant, but figured it was one of those days. Doctors get them too! Let’s show some grace towards them. Anyhow, we were recommended to come here. I’ve taken my mom here several times and with my children in tow! Staff is soooo friendly! They made my mothers visit go smoothly every single time! Staff was so helpful with my children! Dr. Z is so gentle and kind to my mother! I would recommend checking this place out before you listen/read poor reviews.

HORRIBLE! I was satisfied in the beginning with the medical part of the visit but decided I would not go back because he was always calling né Honey and Sweetheart — so condescending. He refereed to his office staff as «the girls». I found out later the prescription he gave me for glasses was wrong so I made a return appointment. I had to argue long and hard not to pay for a re-exam. We finally agreed I would pay, then get a refund if it was his fault. I nearly walked out because the receptionist wouldn’t give me a receipt for the second visit. The visit started by him telling me I had lied to him in my first exam and ended with him telling me I had high blood sugar. WRONG on both accounts. In order to get the money back for the second visit I sat for nearly an hour while he accused and degraded me. When he wasn’t doing that he repeatedly told me he was a nice man(nice people have no need to declare their niceness). He «wrote me a new prescription» but when I took it to Costco the lady looked at it and asked if I had seen it. nShe was pretty shocked and had a few choice words about the man. The prescription wasn’t a prescription but a list of everything wrong with me and why he wouldn’t give me a prescription. This was the most unbelievable experience of my life!!! STAYAWAY from this man!!! he has no business being a doctor or working with another human.

My first impressions of this place was not good. I had read the previous review and was a little scared. I had to take my 5 year old to get her eyes checked. The address to this place was incorrect as well. When I walked into the office, there were a bunch of people waiting. Since the office’s waiting area was small, I felt uncomfortable especially because we had to wait over 45 minutes after our appointment time. I believe we had arrived early too so it felt even longer. Finally, we were called back to talk with Dr. Zarzour. I was pleasantly surprised that he was a nice guy. The previous review, like I said, scared me. I felt that he was thorough and I didn’t feel rushed. He also interacted well with my daughter. Overall, he’s a great doctor but the office’s waiting room space and wait time needs to improve.

He had the worst bedside manner I have ever seen from a «Pediatric» M.D. I took my daughter here because she has a chalazion(clogged oil gland). Four months earlier I had initially taken her to see Dr. Gonzales(whom her pediatrician recommended). The option was on the table to perform a surgery to remove the clogged oil, but with that doctor it was going to cost around $ 1,000 even with our insurance. And it was really a toss up to whether it will come back or go away on it’s own. Anyhow, I was pleased with Dr. Gonzales. He was warm and friendly and it was nothing personal. I just wanted to get another opinion and also see what it may cost using a different doctor that was in our network. That’s really nothing unusual when it comes to making a decision like this concerning one’s healthcare and finances. Well, Dr. Zarzour seemed to take offense to me having previously visited another doctor. He greeted us with NO smile, NO handshake, NO emotion at all. My daughter is 4 and I also had my 2 year old son with me. He being 2, was having a hard time sitting still in my lap. He kept wanting to wiggle out of my arms to get down and look around the room. Dr. Zarzour had NO compassion. He told me, «I’ve asked you repeatedly to hold onto your son.» I basically said that I was sorry, but I was doing my best given the circumstances of trying to sign consent forms while asking questions about treatment options. He then told me, «Well maybe you should get a babysitter.» I could not believe the nerve he had telling me that! I haven’t lived in Houston for very long and I do not have any family here to help me with my kids. I have struggled to take my children with me to dental appointments, etc. It’s not easy. I shook my head and told him that we were leaving and he proceeded to reply very sarcastically, «Good luck with the 3rd Ophthalmologist.» His rudeness was so uncalled for. I was coming to him as a concerned parent, wanting to weigh out the treatment options for my child. I will now gladly go back to Dr. Gonzales and pay the $ 1,000 for her eye surgery. I’m sure Dr. Zarzour is an excellent surgeon, but his personal skills need MAJORIMPROVEMENT. That, or he doesn’t need to work with children since he doesn’t appear to enjoy interacting with them. I left his office crying, that’s how much it rattled me. His office staff was friendly however. I had no problem with them. But for children, I do NOT recommend this doctor based on this recent experience.
