Major crap hole. Expensive for what you get. Had the octopus salad appetizer. 4 paper thin, tiny, very chewy(because the don’t know how to cook it) slices of octopus, laid over a small amount of greens, with a sickeningly sweet dressing. Lousy. Asian crab cake… REALLY offensive, if one is a crabcake aficionado. There are, commercially speaking, 3 grades of crabmeat that come pasteurized in a can. The cheapest is finback, next is claw, and finally the better grade, lump. Well, they obviously use the cheapest of the cheap. The fake crab used for seafood salad would have been better. Then, they fill it with a starch filler, bread it, and deep fry it until it is rock hard… and they only give you one. Then they drizzle commercial mah ploy sauce over it, obviously straight out of the bottle. Surf and turf is comprised of 2 shrimp, fried of course, and a far-less-than generous slice of loin of beef… I can’t dignify it by referring to it as filet mignon. They do. I won’t. Bathrooms, like the rest of the restaurant, were so filthy that one of the women we dined with used the can of Lysol to coat the soles of her shoes. All in all, a far less enjoyable dining experience than I’d hoped for. For me, there is nothing worse than a substandard restaurant, and by substandard I mean ‘you can do better in a diner’, that poses as a contender, replete with valet parking, and a façade of being a ‘real’ restaurant, deserving of a reputation. Would absolutely never return. 5 Guys is a better, more predictably reliable expenditure of your dining buck.

This is such a gem of a place right in the Howard Beach Area! So happy I’m around this area, and I can order from this restaurant which is my favorite restaurant !!! The food here is off the hook I must say!!! ah my fav is the Panko Crusted Shrimp Roll, Beef, Chicken Teriyaki, and the Basil Chicken !

I ordered sushi from here thinking it was going to be so good and what a waste of $ 58 dollars. The sushi was super fishy and gross the pineapple fried rice was hard and had no flavor and the rock shrimp was basically fried shrimp that was drenched in oil. Never again will I order from here. I’m crossing my fingers I don’t get sick !!

It’s my first time here and so far so good. Very friendly servers and the food is great. The ambience was nice they even have a outdoor sitting area. They have lots of food on the Appetizers menu just in case you don’t want to have a big meal. I would have gave this place 5 stars but what made me give the 4. Is because the advertise buy one get one free drinks and afters having a few they told me and my coworkers that deal is only for people who sit at the bar grrrrr.

The sushi and roll were good. The only problem is when you order the entrée. It takes too long and it’s not even busy, there were just a couple of customers at the time, including us. The servers were nowhere to be found when we needed something and also when we wanted to pay… TOPAY. No hatred here, just my honest review according to my experience.

Fresh sushi rolls and prompt service. Berry flambé and cappuccino for dessert were definitely on point. We will definitely return and recommend to our friends and family.

Used to be a nice go to spot. Simple bar and easy to access. Great menu with lots of options for appetizers and quick bites. Because of this I didn’t mind putting up with a borderline dismissive waiter(slim male with tattoos and a lukewarm attitude) who thinks that putting 1 menu in between two grown adults counts as a form of welcome. He then disappeared to the other end of the bar and began to have a conversation so I had to get my second menu for myself. That’s ok. I was there to unwind and drink anyway not chat it up. It was annoying when the food took a while to come out. Longer than the couple that came after us… Worst when the waiter took my soy sauce(which I was using) and gave it to another couple without asking if I was finished. I had to request it back… sigh… To top off the evening my friend went to get her car from the valet and was told that she had a flat tire. Mind you she drove in on four perfect tires… no Flats. Her car was in one spot when she arrived and they moved it to a second spot. Then stated when she came out that she had a flat tire??? Management was very unresponsive and unhelpful even after she returned to speak to them the following day.

Just ordered a party tray, sushi is fresh. But they messed up my order and when I called the person who answered told me that they had to cancel one of my rolls because the computer(seamless) put in 8 rolls instead of 7. Basically they messed up my order and gave me 2 of the same rolls TWICE instead of my tray having variety. You can’t choose the same roll 2x when ordering anyway, and my order is listed on my receipt the exact way It was placed. I PAIDFORITANDITSONMYRECEIPT. When I called to explain that to them they were firm on not taking responsibility and said that I placed a wrong order. They were rude and hung up on me. Seamless tried to call as well, I don’t know what happened, but I was instantly refunded by Seamless.

I previously wrote an excellent review a year ago. I came here a few weeks ago, late in the evening right before they closed on 2÷26÷16. I ordered spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls. I don’t know which one it was, but some of the pieces tasted sour and NOT fresh. I lost my appetite and didn’t finish. Almost the entire staff had left and at this point we just paid the bill and left. Even if we came in an hour before closing, the food given should NOT be spoiled. If what we want isn’t fresh, tell us, and we will order something else. We were loyal customers, have come here many times in the last 4 years. This was my fav sushi place. Now we will only come here for drinks and appetizers.

I enjoyed the atmosphere of this place. I’d have to say the pricing is pretty high for the food that you are receiving. All and all the sushi is fresh, and the habachi is decent. I must admit that the habachi location leaves room for it to be loud, so you can’t really hear your partner because the bar and its crowd is located right there. The dinning room is close seating with a romantic setting, and the patio looks very pretty(would try to eat out there in the summer– beautiful water/boat view). I wish the wait staff was a little more patient when it comes to paying the bill, and no one is really in the dinning area(especially during conversations). I also want to note that I went here on a Friday so that could play a big roll with the atmosphere.

I love this place. I come here all the time :-). Try the oysters with the mango sauce. Absolutely delusions… And if you get lucky you might sit with the view of the water.

Hibachi: Came here with my boyfriend’s family for his birthday dinner, we all got variations of different dishes and we were all satisfied. The hibachi chef was very interactive and made us all laugh and have a great experience; he got our large party dinner done quickly and professionally. The lychee martini was good, I am particular picky with this drink and they made it perfect. Take-out: We always usually get the same thing with a new addition of appetizer here and there; all options were delicious and blended well with all of our meals. Our favorite is the super spicy tuna roll, crispy and perfection, mouthwatering and wanting more after it’s done. We also get the pineapple fried rice, this one I am not that crazy about since I’ve had better to me it’s just ehhh but we still get it because the boyfriend and I share the dish along with the sushi and he loves it. I can’t wait for warmer weather to enjoy our dinner in the water front area of the restaurant.

A nice water front Asian fusion restaurant in Howard Beach where in the summer you can have a nice lunch/dinner outside or enjoy it anyway inside the place. Appetizer: One of the best Chicken or Beef Satay Ive ever had, great options with peanut sauce Hibachi: I always get the filet mignon & lobster combo, it comes with soup, salad, shrimp appetizer, veggies, your choice of rice or lo-mein, the hibachi is a-okay but with many hibachi options in Howard Beach this is not my first pick. But when it comes down to sushi it’s one of the best sushi in south Queens hands down. My favorite roll is the Super Spicy Tuna Roll and it contains Spicy tuna, crab, avocado & cream cheese wrapped w/crispy panko, served with eel, spicy mayo and sesame vinaigrette sauce. Crispy and delicious. I always order the Chicken lo-mein or the pineapple fried rice for my son and he loves them both and usually cleans the plate because of how good both are.

Let’s talk about the ambiance first, really nice décor & the view when you sit in one of the back booths amazing. It has an outdoor patio with a full bar which looks amazing as well. The food was good & so was the service. I will be coming back !

I left Frenasia thinking«meh». So for the positives, it’s a pretty good location. Right on the water with outdoor seating and windows on the bay if you’re seated indoors. Fairly small, but not too small — it had an intimate feel being seated in the back booths. It was nice for a date. The waiter was friendly and attentive, the lychee martini was good.($ 10 each) We ordered a specialty roll and a hand roll appetizer, both were really good. Negatives: It could use an update, I’m used to newer/modern looking Asian fusion restaurants. Hibachi was overpriced but it was good. I ordered the pineapple fried rice and it was bland. I found myself sticking my fork into my fiancés plate more than my own. The hostess rejected my request to be seated outdoors on a beautiful day because SHE thought I’d be cold. Maybe I’d come back here for the outdoor seating & sushi, but… Maybe not…

It’s a very clean and nice hibachi restaurant!!! What impressed me the most is that all the hibachi chefs were wearing clear mask. Very professional and clean! Great Food! Great Experience! I would like to come again!

So my last experience 9 months ago was horrible but I ordered delivery tonight to give Frenasia another try after management responded to my review and apologized and promised a better experience. I ordered a salad which was pretty good, the lettuce wraps again with shrimp which were AMAZING! And I also had a mama Mia roll. The roll was very fresh and delicious! Their quality of food has definitely gotten way better. Also delivery came in less than 30 minutes so that’s definitely a plus too.
