I was not impressed at all with the service or the food the price was ridiculous and I will not be back.

We decided to try State Side Deli and this is our new favorite restaurant! Five of us went and we got five excellent meals. They even have gluten free and dairy free options. If you enjoy hot, delicious food, you must try this place. You won’t be disappointed!

Went there for their Sunday breakfast buffet and it was amazing. The coffee is hot and smooth. The challa bread French toast is great and their applewood bacon is to die for. Never had their lunch but I’ve been told by friends it’s great. A little pricy but well worth it for quality ingredients.

The meats are freshly sliced and generous. Just the way a deli is supposed to be. They will make it the way you want it. Come hungry.

Can it take over 30 min to make a sandwich and a pancake? Yes It can at state side deli. The food was awesome(sandwich and pancake) but the food took so long we will never go back. We don’t want to spend half our Saturday getting lunch.

I went to get a pastrami sandwich which was served on extremely hard bread. The crust was so hard that it literally could not be chewed. I confronted the waitress and she made no attempt to fix the problem and blamed me for not asking for a new sandwich. When I paid she informed me that she just got rid of all the ‘stale’ bread. So I said — what you are telling me is that you served me a sandwich using stale bread? She was clueless. Obviously this place does not get enough business to keep fresh product around. The sandwich was over $ 10. I guess I don’t mind being overcharged for a premium sandwich but this sandwich was crap. Horrible experience I will never go back. I don’t see this deli being in business for much longer anyway.

Great service and clean. The chicken noodle soup was hot, bland, and was unsatisfactory. The small Reuben which I think was called the D Flat was very good, but it was enormous with 5oz of pastrami. One sandwich is probably enough for two people with hearty appetites. Also, it was pricey. It was $ 15(not including tip) for a sandwich, cup of soup, and a pop.

We were just there. We were the only people there. The waitress took our drinks and brought them out. Then we sat by ourselves for 25 minutes. We threw $ 4 on the table to cover our two cokes and left. What a joke… the owner should be ashamed of his employees.

Food IS delish and that’s why I am a fan! Been here more than a few times and every time has been the same. Service leaves MUCH to be desired — consistently! I’ve learned not to expect too much here in this area. Take out: check your bags for the correct items ordered the way you ordered them. Better to dine in than to take out. Chili cheese fries AREYUM, sandwiches AREYUM! Cleanliness and bathrooms are meh… I dare say price seems to be average, I guess, considering everything has went up in cost — they may be a little on the pricier side for what they offer. The ambiance is poor. I’m not really sure what it is that feels off; the seating and how it’s all laid out, the lack of character, the set up, the indoor temperature… But, the food IS good! If it wasn’t for that, I wouldn’t go back, at all.

I like the Stateside Deli for takeout. They have some really good breakfast burrito and breakfast sandwich options. We got 2 salads and a burger and a couple of soups for dinner last night. I really like the way the to-go soup has a container lid on top, then a thick slice of bread, then the whole thing is Saran-wrapped to keep it together. It’s basically spill proof soup to go. The salads we ordered came with chicken, but I thought it was a little strange that the chicken is served in a separate container.

Had Sunday breakfast, husband had buffet and I had egg white veggie omelet. He loved their corn beef hash and that they make your eggs to order and not put on the buffet. My omelet was wonderful, had rye toast which was thick and fresh, great bread. Waitress was very friendly. Little pricey but not bad. We’ll definitely be back soon!

Just walked out of this joke of a deli after waiting for food! Horrific service, understaffed, yet the place was only half full, sandwiches don’t take an hour. I actually walked up to the kitchen window to inquire about our order to find the waitress had just out it in… after an hour of waiting!!! Stay away, unless you have a day to spend waiting. Oh, and the rest too was filthy too. The single star was for the mediocre ice water.

I love a good NY-style deli, and State Side is a good one — unfortunately it is also currently the only one in Greater Lansing. Sandwiches here are top notch — excellent meat and wonderful bread. I recommend the #4 «Price is Right» but all of the Signature Sandwiches are quite good. Side dishes are a la carte, but the sandwiches are so large that you don’t really need a side dish. Facility is so-so and could use a facelift. The parking lot for the strip mall was recently reconfigured which definitely helps with traffic flow. Table service is also so-so — last few times I have been in during lunch there has only been one waitress working and she was a bit overwhelmed. Everyone is very friendly, though. They offer catering and trays of sandwiches to go – great for office meetings, etc. If you are hankering for a good pastrami or corned beef sandwich, this is the place to go!

Delicious deli food and they deliver! Great sandwiches and fries. Our family eats there frequently and have not been disappointed. My daughter loves the baklava so much she wrote a song about it. Looking forward to trying the breakfast hashes!

I haven’t tried many of their sandwiches, but«The Famous» is a great sandwich; it’s really a classic Dinty Moore, but they can call it what they want. I went there with a friend who ordered the«Rare Ron», which one would presume would be roast beef cooked somewhere close to rare — it was more like a «Well Ron». Friend said it was decent; he’s not as picky about sandwiches as I am.

I travel a lot and this place was close to the Hampton inn where I stayed for the night. The quality of food was«POOR» at best. The lack of better terms disgusting would be better. The place was nice. I had the three eggs with has-browns and bacon with toast. The toast and and eggs were the only thing on my plate that was made fresh. The time was 10am and the place had only one table, so there are zero excuses. The hash browns were made the day before and warmed up. Parts that were cooked were still cold from the refrigerator. The bacon as you can see in the picture I posted was also from the day before. The bill was 10 $ and that is ok I would have paid 20 $ if the food was good. But paying 10 $ for leftovers is just crazy. It does not cost that much for fresh has and bacon, I get it that they are trying to save money but this was just a cheap shot. I for one will never go there, if you do I hope you like leftovers. Maybe next time you guys can come to my house and pay me for the food I have left from yesterday. Pathetic is the most I can say about this place. My honest opinion.
