Best family style restaurant around. My husband and I have been going here for over 8 years. Everyone knows us and our children. Most times we do not even have to order because they already know. My husband loves their fish and chips. My favorite is either the chicken Bella Rosa or homemade alfredo. My youngest loves the fact he can get fried bread dough any time. Jimmy and Sarah are the best.

As others have said, this is a seat yourself place, but there is no sign letting you know this and the wait staff doesn’t say anything either. Also, it is rare that we’ve ever been here and not had to wait, however it moves pretty quickly. I don’t remember waiting any more than 20 minutes or so. Almost always go for breakfast, which is fantastic. The Ginny Rae’s special is a family favorite but I also like their Adirondack Benedict, which you swap hollandaise sauce for sausage gravy. They do have traditional Eggs Benedict though, if you want that as well. We’ve also had the french toast(made with Texas Toast) which is pretty good, though just basic french toast. Home fries are pretty good. They aren’t overly seasoned and seem to be cooked to perfection most times we’ve been there. They do have hash browns as well, but those are the formed, pressed patties not the shredded kind, just fyi. The wait staff there is pretty good. I find that they are attentive without being intrusive. They also seem to be looking around while back at the counter, as we’ve been able to flag them down with ease when needed. Although I’ve seen other reviews say the prices have gone up, I don’t think anymore so than any other place we go to. I don’t consider it to be expensive at all, especially for what you are getting. Overall, this a place that is worthy of 5 stars.

Although Ginny Raes doesn’t look like much, the home cooked food is delicious. I recently visited for lunch with some from out of town. We had to wait for about 15 minutes for a seat. During that time he pointed out the dust/dirt lining the walls, the place does need a thorough scrub down. We both ordered the crispy chicken sandwich, one southwest, the other with bacon and ranch which I added hot sauce too. They were excellent. Was not much a fan of the potato salad. The potato seemed to be ground up and would have been a good consistency if you were lacking teeth. I prefer mine to have chunks of potato. I still gave Ginny Raes a 4 star rating because the crispy chicken sandwich was so good that I’m thinking about it even now almost a week later.

3rd time I have been year for dinner in the last few months. The dinner menu has great variety, that changes almost daily. One great feature is that several entrees are offered in smaller portions. Prices are very reasonable and service staff is very friendly and attentive. I look forward to coming back!

This place was exceptionally good. The lunch we had was amazing! I had a chicken salad sandwich that came out nice and thick, with side of homemade fries. Everything else that was coming out of the kitchen look very good as well. Service was great! We will be returning soon.

I Have been to this place twice. The food was good the first time(we had dinner.) The second time we had breakfast, it was alittle cold but they made it right. It was good.

Great diner food with friendly and helpful staff. Very reasonable prices with large portions. Everything is made to order, so sometimes there is a wait. Most recently ordered the three egg cheese omelet. It came with home fries, choice of toast and coffee. The omelet was huge, and the potatoes were delicious. Under $ 7. The prices are so reasonable, we have started going at least once a week.

We love right near Ginny Rae’s and visit frequently. The meal we got most for is breakfast and usually get the«Ginny Rae’s Special(a little bit of everything). It’s a lot of food for not a lot of money. Right off the bat you should know to seat yourself. If you stand around for ten minutes, an employee usually won’t mention it to you which is unfortunate. The facility should really expand as it’s very often full. I found the owner to be accommodating as we spoke on Facebook and he added Belgian waffles to the menu(temporarily) because we asked. We visited and found them to be very delicious. I recommend visiting Ginny Rae’s for good food if you’re in the area.

Love eating breakfast here every Saturday. The staff is great and I love the feeling of come on in and seat yourself. It’s more like being at home then being in a restaurant. The pancakes are awesome.

Real down-home food for dinner. Lots of countryish choices. Very reasonable prices. Nice staff. Big parking lot. Most diners are regulars from the area.

For something new, took the family here earlier tonight. Food overall was decent, but I have to honestly say, I wasn’t impressed. My wife ordered the prime rib and I had the smothered grilled chicken. She said he prime rib was good, and my dish was as well, was a tad surprised that a salad did not come with either of our meals. Any other place I’ve eaten at where you order a full meal like this always comes with a salad and maybe even a basket of bread/rolls. The other 2 things I found confusing here was that there is no sign about searing yourself or wait for a staff member to seat you. And the other thing is the menu — most dinner listed state that they come with a choice of 2 sides — a list of the sides on the menu would have been real helpful. So, unless the usual places we go to closed for whatever reason, doubt I’ll go back.

This review is based on dinner. Ginny’s Rae’s is a popular local diner located in Hudson Falls and serves up breakfast(until 2PM), lunch, and dinner. The atmosphere inside is where American diner meets family restaurant with tables, booths, and counter seating. The lighting is a bit on the dim side(not bright). There are plenty of framed photos of classic cars in the front doorway. The breakfast menu offerings include eggs, omelets, breakfast burritos, pancakes, French toast, fried bread dough, and breakfast sides. The lunch/dinner menu offerings include sandwiches, clubs, burgers, fried foods, salads, soups, pasta dishes, seafood, steaks(sirloin, ribeye, filet mignon), prime rib, chicken, liver & onions, and desserts(pies, cakes). Several specials and kids menu are offered. Pepsi fountain drinks served here. The prices here are fair, breakfast($ 2.49-$ 8.99), most sandwich plates($ 5.49-$ 9.49), most dinner entrees $ 9.99-$ 17.99, and desserts($ 3.75-$ 5.99). A 3 Course Menu($ 13.99& $ 17.99) is also offered which includes soup or salad, entrée(8 to choose from), and choice of dessert(add $ 2 for a Cheesecake Factory dessert). I stopped here for an early Saturday dinner around 4PM to beat the dinner rush. The parking lot was half full when I arrived and most of the tables were occupied with hungry customers upon entering. I sat myself at one of the last empty tables(menus/specials already at each table) and the waitress promptly arrived to take my order. The portions of food arriving to the tables looked very generous served on big platter dishes and bowls. I decided on the Chicken Carbonara Special($ 12.99) which included a side salad. The side salad was a basic plate of iceberg lettuce mix(carrot/red cabbage), red onions, green peppers, thick cucumber slice, tomato, and croutons, a Newman’s Own salad dressing packet on the side. The Chicken Carbonara though not piping hot(warm), was pretty decent. This big dish had soft fettuccini pasta(closer to being linguine) tossed with a rich alfredo sauce, peas and smoked bacon and topped with a tender grilled chicken breast, parmesan cheese shavings and sprinkled parsley. The dish was heavy and filling to eat and I decided to get a to-go box so I could have dessert. For dessert, the Key Lime Pie($ 4.99) was a good dessert, though not a very big slice, which had a soft creamy texture(like cheesecake) with a slight tart taste, more sweet on graham cracker crust and whipped cream on the side. Overall, a good dinner with left overs with the check totaling $ 19.24 with tax and before tip. The service was decent and the food arrived in acceptable time during a busy dinner service. There were several folks waiting by the door for an open table by the time I finished. CLOSED on Mondays (3.5÷5.0 stars) PSA: Use caution when exiting the restaurant via apartments driveway onto Dix Avenue since there was an property damage two vehicle accident in front of the diner. A car heading westbound on Dix Avenue t-boned an old lady trying to make a left turn onto Dix Avenue eastbound. The Washington County Sheriff’s Dept, Ft. Edward Ambulance and a few good samaritans had the scene under control with a few traffic delays. The folks in the accident looked alright.
