Really good diner food with friendly servers. Awesome burgers and great soups and onion rings. If you go, just be prepared for their grill cook(also the owner) spewing a constant litany of racist, anti-Muslim and anti-Obama tirades(sometimes all at once, sometimes separately) as well as him swearing every 8 seconds. So I give it a 5(by diner standards) for food and 1 for the atmosphere. Pity I don’t want to put any more money in the dirtbag’s pocket.

I’m new to Unilocal and the iPhone. This is my second review and like the first, I am giving Poopie’s 5 stars.(1 for the name) I am slowly reviewing all the local restaurants that offer delivery. We tried three items today and I have to say the burger: Out of this WORLD! I am a picky eater in general and more so where burgers are concerned and they have garnered my seal of approval. Delivery was speedy and the driver a super sweet lady. The prices are very reasonable and the food is fabulous. I will be ordering again! If there’s one complaint, it would be the short hours and I can live with that.

This place is amazing. Everything I’ve had here is amazing. The steak and eggs, omelettes, pancakes, French toast. It’s all real good. And the prices are insanely low, so it’s even better.

I highly support family owned and run business and this place is incredible. I go here atleast once a month. Food is amazing good old fashioned greasy diner food burgers are the best around. Atmosphere is homey and fun. I’d give 6 stars if I could.

Food is excellent. Staff are super. Jerry works his butt off. Depending on the time of day the wait is a little longer but worth the wait. Give the local guy your business. You won’t be sorry. Oh and don’t piss off the cook cause you might not get fed!

The acoustics… dear Lord the place is loud. Other than that the food is good and the wait staff is excellent. Dining out with a toddler is never easy but the staff has done their best to be accomidating.

Gotta love this place, great breakfast, service, and price/value. Pros: 1. Food is excellent, Poopie is a great short order cook. Home fries have bacon in them, enough said. Corn beef hash is yummy, but ask for it well done. Sausage gravy was good, but ask for Tabasco. Eggs were perfect and avoid the toast(generic bread). Pancakes are like cake, no joke, chocolate chip is a must have. 2. Cheap, what a deal, go hungry! 3. Service is all local and family, they remember you and you feel at home right away. 4. They take credit cards now, save the ATM fees for another day. Cons: 1. So packed, that parking is hard and you have to wait for a table, and then it takes a while. Poopie needs another griddle and another set of hands and louder faster music to motivate more. Hah! 2. That’s it, expect to wait and enjoy the people watching, and plan around the morning rush, its great, a must go!

Listen, there is a reason this place is so close to five stars. Lord knows why it isn’t. In fact, stop reading this review right now, or any of the reviews here for that matter. Just go and eat here. Just do it. You won’t regret it. You’ll get a damn good breakfast fit for a king. I came here on a whim, starving and ready to eat. I wasn’t expecting to be blown away so much. The food was beyond awesome. I’m stuffed FULL. Best corned beef hash I’ve ever had in my life. The fried eggs were cooked perfectly. My mother whom I was with ordered buttermilk pancakes that made her feel like she could die happy. I had a bite, I could have died happy too. True buttermilk pancakes and honestly, the best I’ve ever had. Seriously I’m not exaggerating. They also had this homemade italian toast that was insane. I could go in just for that toast. Overall, I am in love. It sucks that this place isn’t closer to me or I would be here all the time. If you’re reading this still, clearly you didn’t listen to me earlier, but it’s fine. Listen to me now, GOANDHAVEBREAKFASTHERE. You won’t regret a single bite :) Jerry, thanks for the fantastic food, and for your team’s incredible service.

Jerry’s omelets are works of art. Sitting at the counter is like going to the theater, for no extra charge. The 1&½ burger with onions and cheese is fantastic. Homemade soups as good as my Mom’s. This is a G.F. institution, with incredibly reasonable prices, and an atmosphere that only took 50-some-odd years to perfect. LOVEIT! P. S. Katie B from the Bronx — you must have gotten lost on the thruway… why don’t you try Mick-y-Dee’s next time, instead of embarrassing the loyal yankee fans that frequent this place?

Great locals breakfast spot. Def looks veryyyy dated inside but the food is awesome, the portions are large, the staff if friendly, prices are low, and the food was really good! It was definitely worth driving a bit away from Lake George village to have a really good breakfast!

I always get my usual here: a hamburger, fries, and a Pepsi. This has always been my favorite place to eat around here. Their soups are homemade and delicious! Christina, Annie, and Meghan(the waitresses) are always working so hard and are always moving. Everyone here has a great attitude and the atmosphere is like a busy diner. Totally would recommend it to anyone. Best food in town.

was here picking up my daughter from soccer camp at nearby Golden Goal. I’m glad we stopped by — this place is real Americana, as authentic as it can get. My daughter stated it’s the best burger sh’e ever had, and she’s had quite a few! I had the Philly steak sandwich, just to be different, and it was what I expected, good meat, excellent cheese and bun, greasy enough to raise my cholesterol 15 points. Free refills on all drinks! And the staff! Wow — I felt like family, even though it’s our first time, service is superb! Can;t say enough good thinks about the women. I’m not sure if that was Mr. Poopie cooking in the kitchen, but if I had to give him a name, that would fit.

Great place to mingle with the locals. Guy at the grill is a jerk. Waitress are very helpful. Kitchen looked pretty dirty. Food was pretty good for a diner. Don’t come looking for anything fancy. Atmosphere is very dated

Wanted to support a local business while staying at Great Escape Lodge, quick Unilocal led our family here. I can’t recommend it enough. Great menu. They serve lunch all day, we had burgers for breakfast! Fries were plentiful and crispy. Son who chose pancakes was pleased. Son who had egg sandwich enjoyed his. Staff is quite friendly and attentive. You can watch them prepare your food. The atmosphere was great. Lots of pictures on the wall to look at. The music was from our generation. Coffee flowed often and was delicious. Served quickly and affordably. We will be back this summer. Highly recommend.

A little off the beaten path, this place is a MUST-visit for locals and tourists. I finally made it there yesterday after hearing about it for over 2 years. The wood-paneled-locally-decorated walls(with lots of pictures, hockey sticks and other cool stuff) and the long counter with bar stools brought me back a few decades. The reason for that: it was established in the 1950’s and the same family is still running it. Love the atmosphere… love the family vibe… love the constant stream of locals that are on a first name basis with the owners and other customers. Behind the counter is the grill where all of the magic happens. No kitchen mysteries here… you can even see into the back part of the kitchen(where the soups, fries and onion rings emerge from). The food: authentic, homemade, fresh ingredients… nothing frozen. I started with a cup of creamy tomato soup; my companion had the new england clam chowder. The creamy tomato soup delivered — it was VERY creamy and rich — I could only finish half of the cup(which is actually served in a coffee mug… nice touch). The clam chowder(also homemade) was fabulous. I ordered the single burger with a side of fries. Fries… fresh cut and cooked to perfection… just the way I like them(with lots of crispy ones and some that were crispy outside and tender inside). So glad I just got the single burger(the options are single, one and a half or double)…with cheese and tomato. The burger is not too thick and the bun was fresh, soft(and yes… buttered!). They also cut it in half… which I really liked. I ALMOST finished everything but couldn’t do it… but I wanted to keep going.(I rarely eat burgers but this one was gooood). Even the iced tea was great(fresh brewed… and refilled 3 times). My friend had the goulash served with a side of dense italian(buttered!) bread from a bakery down the street. I didn’t try it but she really enjoyed it. We didn’t have room for dessert but I’ve heard that you can’t go wrong. Total package — great comfort food, family atmosphere, friendly. It’s cash or check only, but the prices are so incredibly reasonable. They aren’t there on Sundays(they need a day off once in a while) and they close at 2pm every other day during the week. Go there. ENJOY!
