So. I ordered a mocha Latte and got what tasted and looked like a bowl of. Hot chocolate. Not even resembling a, late, while sitting g and waiting for my crossiant to be warmed it was clear they forgot it, service was fragmented at best. My companion ordered a Chai latte and she got a bowl of milk, laughable. When we brought it to the attention of the staff, they took them back and tried to correct it, and then I stead of a bowl of milk, she got a mug of milk. Mind you are croissants still haven’t come out of the oven at least 15 minutes have gone by. THEOWNERSNEDTOREALLYPAYATTENTIONTOHOWOTHERPASTRYSHOPSARERUNASFARASSPECIALTYCOFFEESANDTEAS…

It was a cool place but They only accepted cash, the menu was quite pricey and they didn’t have many options. I ordered a croissant and a cup of potato and leek soup… It was pretty good. It’s probably a place I’d go to once a year just for the cool atmosphere.

Still dreadful service! Slow. slow. slow. I walked out realizing the guy counted the change wrong. It took him several tries to calculate it in the first place. Other reviewers seem to echo this, question in, why don’t the owners ever take note? You can only ride on the coat tails of a french imported oven for so long!

A little piece of Paris in Hudson, NY! Stopped in for a hot drink and snack on a cold windy day. It was the perfect sanctuary from the chill! Coffee was large, fresh, delicious just like in Paris, and the biscuit was huge and perfect with the fresh jam! Atmosphere for us was just right, very authentic for us Franco-philes. Support France! Viva la Paris! Stop in and enjoy!

Had a wonderful brunch today in this lovely café. Food was very well prepared and the bread was superb. Our waiter, Chris was charming and even gave us a tour of the bakery out back. I would highly recommend.

Had a great meal in Hudson at this French bistro gem. Great food and great service from Chris. Moules frites were extraordinary as were the drinks. And don’t miss the great breads crafted on site. The fancy bakery is divine! Not to be missed.

Meh. Crappy coffee and not much better sandwiches. Free pastry samples the best thing.

Ugh I am sooo mad at myself for falling for this place again!!! It’s not that it’s bad, but… i told my friend that we need to take a vow to NOT go here on our next Hudson trip. Here’s what was wrong today – not the staff. They were very pleasant and got all the stuff that didnt come with my meal(like dressing on the salad or the bread that it said on the menu comes with it). The bread – the whole draw of this place in articles I read was that they flew the oven in from France. They should have also flown in a baker and gotten him a green card. For a place thats supposed to have great bread, it is always doughy and heavy. I asked for whole wheat, and it was really underwhelming. I could buy better bread at my supermarket. Then the place – it’s cute but it was a hot day and it was stifling in the dining room. How about a fan? Or open the windows? The bar area was super unappealing. And the nice staff said it is always the hottest room. They did have the door open and we were being attacked by aggressive flies! Dozens of them. Walking around on the set tables, dive-bombing our food… Yuck. Put a curtain in the door if you are going to have an outdoor seating area. Overall, it was really disappointing and I promise not to get fooled again. My Nicoise salad had a nice piece of salmon, there were a few home fries on the side, nice green beans, a few tomatoes diced… no dressing. I heard a guy at the next table tell the waiter his salad didnt have dressing either, so maybe something was off in the kitchen. But really. Never never again.

Had a reservation for 7:45 but they wrote it down for 7:15 under the wrong name. The service was incredibly slow from the first time they took our drink order through the end of the meal where I had to get up, find a waiter, and ask for the check. The food was subpar and definitely wasn’t worth the incredibly long, drawn out, service experience. The best part of the meal was the tapenade trio. Overall, it’s not worth the time or price.

I came here last night just as they were closing. Got coffee, but had to go elsewhere for dinner. Too bad. Came back for Sunday brunch this morning. They were really busy, so the service was a bit slow, but once the food came, I realized it was worth the wait. The Brioche French Toast was probably the best French Toast I have ever had. It was soft, and thick but not dry at all and covered in fresh fruit. The potatoes were cooked perfectly and had just the right amount of salt, and being a bakery, the baguettes don’t disappoint either! I recommend reservations for Sunday Brunch(we lucked out as there was a cancellation as we walked in). Good food, friendly employees. Highly recommended.

I would come here more often if the service weren’t so awful– every time I go I am presented with an affront by staff who make it known with their attitude that my asking for something is a total inconvenience. It’s so very… French. No thanks, I’ll take my pastries and coffee with a smile down the street instead.

The chocoate crossaint was amazing. Fresh, flakey and the right amount of chocolate. A must go to when in Hudson NY. A little disappointed in the chai tea latte. Their special drink of the day was an iced chai latte however I prefer the hot in which they just used a teabag and added steam milk on top. Stick to the crossaints!

I have enjoyed Café Le Perche on a couple different occasions over the past year. As far as dinner goes, they offer a nice selection of sandwiches, salads, and entrees. The food is inspired by the simple side of French bistro cuisine. I’ve always found their food to be good, if not very good at times, but it has never blown me away. What always receives high marks, however, is the Café Le Perche bakery. Pick an item, really any of them, and it’ll likely be the best thing you’ve eaten all day. We’ve gotten assorted cookies, croissants(chocolate and plain), beignets, and muffins on our visits(not at the same time). However, where Café Le Perche really excels is with their bread. The standard baguette, whole wheat, and sourdough are all winners. Today, we picked up a loaf of brioche. As I type these words, I am resisting the urge to make today the day that I eat an entire loaf of bread all by myself. Really cool spot. Stop in if you’re in the area.

This place seems to have taken a nose dive since I was last here about 6 months ago. The ambiance is still nice and clean, the wifi is still there. The good food is not… I recently went with my father and friend. We were really looking forward the the Mac & cheese there, this time was not as we remembered at all. The«Mac and cheese» was so over-cooked that it was more like mashed goo. We commented on it(and only ate ¼ of it and we were sharing all dishes) all that was said was that«someone new had made it.» The grilled romaine salad was brown and bad inside, when I commented on that I was told that they must not have seen the brown in the kitchen since it is served whole? We also shared an espresso brownie which was the best part of this meal gone wrong. The bill for waters and light, shared(what I would classify as bad) food was $ 45. Not at all worth it in my opinion. Hudson has plenty of really good places, in my book, Café La Perche can no longer compete.

We were extremely excited to eat at this restaurant, as it has great reviews online and a very charming article written about it by the New York Times. My husband loves croissants, so as part of his birthday I planned a trip to Hudson to enjoy food here and also explore the town. I called early in the week to ask if the restaurant was open on Sunday and I got a yes from whoever answered the phone. Fast forward to Sunday, we were turned away from the restaurant because they had a private event. I get it, this is a simple mistake and things happen. The nice man who broke the news to us said we may be able to order carry out, but just as he mentioned this a woman(we assume his boss) came out of the kitchen and«barked» at him and us. She didn’t care at all that it was my husband’s birthday and definitely could have given us this news in a more professional manner. We were stunned when we left at how mean and rude this woman was. We didn’t let it ruin our day though. We had breakfast at Bonfiglio and Bread, which is AWESOME and has very nice servers and workers. Based on how badly we were treated, I would not come back to this restaurant, even if my meal was free.

A lovely café to try when the in the area. The café is modern, yet a bit old. They definitely need to fix their door, since it causes a bit of trouble for customers. Anyway, the layout of the café is great, with a small bakery in front and a full restaurant and outdoor patio in the back. Plus, they have a small bar. We wanted to get some food for later, so we got bakery items and coffees. The service isn’t amazing, but they got us what we wanted. They have a wide selection of drinks, along with many fresh baked cookies, breads, and other sweets. Their cookies are excellent, sweet, chewy, quite large. Their croissants are yummy as well. Make sure to purchase one of their breads, since they looked awesome. Their coffees are great buys. Nothing is amazingly expensive, so this is your best bet for a bakery in the area.

The macaroni and cheese was the best I’ve ever had and I didn’t even add the bacon to it. Quiche was gigantic and delicious. The dining room is loud and eclectic. Service was great. THEMACARONIANDCHEESE

Stopped in Hudson for the afternoon on the way back to the city from the Berkshires. We had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated for brunch, but it was a holiday weekend so that should have been expected. Service was a bit slow but the servings were very generous. We ate outside in the sun and enjoyed our respective meals. An added plus, the price was right.

What a beautiful building, space and patio on Warren St. … This is where my positive feedback stops. Way over-priced. Service is looooooong. The baked goods are perfectly fancy-perfect for hypsters with no tastebuds. The pumpkin pie has more crust than filling. The bread, supposely their«pride» is the worse: dry, untasty, chewy. The coffe is not strong: it is bitter and over roasted. As we say in French«une fois, deux fois, mais pas trois!» WON’T BEBACK.

It’s breakfast at the neighbors’ place! If your neighbors ran a bakery in a rustic French villa. The goods displayed at the carry-out counter look mahvelous. And oh so tempting, even after we sat for breakfast(easily) at 10am on a Saturday. Amidst the frenetic energy of children running amok and lively conversation, she ordered the Brioche French Toast and I opted for a breakfast sandwich on their trademark croissant. An enormous, flaky testament to the art of patience baking house a surprisingly light load of a single egg, perhaps half an ounce of cheese and(thankfully) an appropriate serving of house-made sausage, which scored a solid silver next to the pastry itself. A no-nonsense plate justly priced at $ 6.50, especially when the croissant itself is $ 3.50. She found her French toast to be a bit undercooked, cool and egg-heavy, making for a sweet, barely-gelled custard just below the seared surface. Methinks the bread was too fresh for the dish? Her loss; my brekkie was a winner. If you don’t want to sit, take a bag of anythings to go — what’s baked is king here.
