I didn’t try the sandwiches but my greek salad was subpar. Real serveware would have gone a long way for someone eating in.

Being completely new to Hudson and it’s surroundings, Bruno’s has become something of a sanctuary for me. I held off six months on this review, and after coming in religiously multiple times a week, I can safely say that Bruno’s has definitely earned five stars. Among my favorites to eat, I highly recommend the chicken Cobb salad, the pork banh mi, their soup of the day on a chilly morning, or anything that Shannon or Wendy would recommend. Everything is homemade, using local fresh ingredients in the area. What still amazes me is the upbeat vibe that resonates from the staff, as well as the regulars. Coming to Bruno’s, sitting down, and experiencing the positivity from day-to-day locals never fails to put a smile on my face. I really feel this place captures what Hudson is all about. Whenever I’m out of town and think of Hudson, I think of the simplicity and innocence that is Bruno’s.

Loved the Bahn-mi and Cuban sandwiches. The potato salad and the red cabbage vinegar cole slaw were also tasty!

Fresh veggies and meat on the sandwiches and friendly staff, when I go back to Hudson, I would definitely come back again. Highly recommended.

I’m up in Hudson at least once a month and can’t wait to get my Bruno fix. Best sandwiches and nicest people!

Airconditioning not great in the summer. This is a tiny deli with mostly healthy type foods. Had Caesar salad. Had no dressing but good. Garlic bread that came with it, very good. Wife liked her meal.

Brunos is a tiny mainly takeout place with a limited menu focusing on fresh quality ingredients. The food is made from scratch and the quality is great. The service while friendly is somewhat spaced out and very slow. Whether deliberate or not the place will make you ask yourself whether this is business or just someone selling food in their kitchen. Picture the bookstore from Portlandia to get an exaggerated idea. If you like the 90’s alternative /aging hippie Hudson scene it is an ideal place to eat a Cuban sandwich, drink organic juice, and listen to joy division. Bottom line: Good food, great ingredients, slow service.

So I’ve been laughing at the $ 7 banh mi sandwiches I’ve been eating in Williamsburg, saying that is the wrong price. yeah, I am too lazy to go to Chinatown for better ones at half the price. I ordered a pork banh mi here at Bruno’s for $ 10. I thought this was the right price for the quality of the sandwich Bruno’s serves. The pork was really delicious and the bread was slightly toasted and was lovely. I’ve eaten here often and enjoyed the great hot dogs, cuban sandwiches, hummus with black bean wraps, and burritos. They make delicious hibiscus iced tea.

simply delicious! came across this place on Unilocal since we were going to Olana State Historic site. ordered the falafel sandwich, handcut fries, root vegetable slaw and the chicken sandwich, all very good. was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed their root vegetable slaw considering I’m a big potato person. if I lived closer I’d surely be part of the regular crowd! if you are in the area, I highly recommend grabbing something here.

If you happen to be fortunate enough to find yourself in Hudson stop here even if you are not hungry. Friendly, welcoming owners and incredibly delicious fresh food. Hummus black bean wrap is my go to however you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu or board. Don’t forget the hibiscus limeade iced tea. Best customer service and lunch in town. You will not be disappointed.

Bruno’s is usually my go-to Wednesday lunch option. I usually stick with the Black Bean Hummus Wrap, because it’s delicious. I highly recommend either the chips or the root vegetable slaw for your side. The staff is always super nice, too!

They make a delicious chicken salad sandwich, on a crusty rustic baguette. So fill of goodness I had to use a fork to scoop up the bits that slipped out. Glad I didn’t try to eat it in the car! Their root vegetable soup made with Apple cider was a perfect compliment to the sandwich.

Amazing food. All homemade. Why is it I only found out about this place? The homemade felafel was the best I have had — ever. Can’t wait to try their signature lamb sandwich! Casual, but packs the quality!

I stopped by here about 1 year after it was recommended that I do so by a friend. What a shame it took me so long. I immediately gravitated toward a lamb sandwich, but the patron in line before me ordered the last one! I will be back to try it, as the substitute I ordered was fantastic. I ordered a cuban sandwich, with ham, pickles, etc, on a nicely warmed crusty roll. It came out quickly, wrapped in it’s own paper plate, then foil, for the road. Nice chunks of ham, and quite delicious. I chose the«root vegetables» as a side, which were prepared like a slaw. Very tasty. They had some fancy brand of soda called«Blue Sky Creamy Root Beer», which is what I washed my meal down with. They had some sort of poppy seed pastry in the case, and it looks as though they have things like chicken pot pies and other pastries. In an adjoining room, they have produce, including some very ripe looking tomatoes. Prices are printed in large bold characters, which I thought was a nice touch. Now all I have to do is get that Lamb Sandwich.

They make THEBEST chicken salad sandwich I have ever had the joy of eating. Schmibis and I were wrapping up our little side trip to Hudson, and had about half an hour to spare before we both got on two trains going to two very different places. So we decided to buy sandwiches to eat, so that we didn’t have to suffer the lack options on the train. Now, Bruno’s is super small, and quite easy to walk by if you’re not looking for it. But once you find it, you will not be disappointed. All of their food is super fresh, and awesome quality, and the lady behind the counter seemed incredibly nice and patient. As I said, I got the chicken salad sandwich, and Schmibis got the falafel. I didn’t get to see him eat his meal, but he did text me to say that his sandwich was mighty tasty, and well my sandwich was gone 5 minutes after my train pulled out of Hudson.

Don’t blink or you’ll miss Bruno’s when driving or walking by. I assure you, this tiny joint is worth your while so stop in. The daily specials are creative and yummy and their regular menu is interesting too. Their Cuban sandwich is particularly good. The French fries are thick cut and have a good salty flavor. The pastries are delicious. Prices on the meals are decent for the quality. They sell some produce in case you need a quick fix for dinner. They occasionally seem to be selling frozen quarts of their AMAZING clam chowder(really the BEST chowder I’ve ever had!). Unless you are by yourself or are in a party of two or three, take-out is best here. The people who run the place are friendly, welcoming and it’s quickly becoming one of my favorite lunch spots in Hudson.

For quick, inexpensive, healthy, organic takeout — this is the place! Had one of the best lunches I’ve ever consumed here! Risotto cakes with local corn, tomatoes, cheese, basil, and olives. A ton of food for under $ 10. Great service too!

This diminutive addition to Warren Street’s culinary life packs a lot of flavor into a tiny space. The menu is creative, inexpensive, and delicious, with many ingredients sourced from local farms. The two sisters who own Bruno’s also staff it, making for friendly service and excellent attention to detail. Perhaps best of all: The nightlife-friendly 10pm-to-2am re-openings on Fridays and Saturdays.
