The food was good. Our waiter was great. He was very informative about the wine and food specials. I had the fettuccine wheat pasta with cream sauce and substituted the special of day which was spicy chorizo sausage instead of shrimp. The wheat pasta was great and they give you a healthy portion of sausage. For dessert my coworker and I split the dark chocolate ball with pistachio, strawberry and chocolate ice cream in the middle. It was huge and half the dessert was more then enough for both of us to enjoy.

Cozy atmosphere, great back patio especially on an unusually warm Christmas Eve. Delicious classic Italian fare, with a nice wine list. Highly recommend.

The food is delicious and innovative. probably for the money, the best in Hudson… service can be a bit perfunctory and hopefully they will not descend into being victims of their own success; friendly, warm and fuzzy it is not, but efficient and well presented it is and always new and exciting things to try…

I’ve had two positive experiences at Ca’mea. One time I was craving a pasta dish and had the Pappardelle Con Funghi which was excellent. Next time I went for the grilled ribeye steak which was excellent as well. Two for two. It’s a nice room(actually two rooms) and a small bar. The bar is primarily taken up by diners. There are a few little wall mounted tables in the bar area with stools for people waiting for tables but I wouldn’t expect to go there for the bar, at least not on a weekend night. Good wine selection. Cheers. I’ll be back. :)(Say it like Arnold)

My family came in as a party of five for dinner last evening to celebrate a birthday. The environment on the patio is always lovely and things seemed to be going well. I ordered the arugula salad and the grilled vegetables appetizer. The arugula salad was a wonderful vegetarian dish and the grilled vegetables would have been lovely if I didn’t find a long blonde hair tangled in them. We called over a server that was not waiting on our table and he fixed it very quickly. Meanwhile, our server did not even come over to apologize or to see how the rest of the food was. She refilled my water glass twice while I was waiting for a new dish and couldn’t bother to ask. I understand that this was not her fault and things like this happen but she should have followed up in a better way. However, the gentleman who resolved the issue made sure to stop back at my table to make sure everything was okay even though he was running around trying to help his own tables, which it looked like he had quite a few of. I am very appreciative of him! I also had the S’mores dessert(a layer caked with toasted marshmallow, milk chocolate ganache, flourless chocolate cake, and graham cracker cookie). I was looking forward to it but it was unfortunately extremely bland. My grandmother enjoyed the Limoncello dessert. While it was not the great experience I had last time I was there, I will be back because of the server who resolved my issue. I would have appreciated it more if my server had done her job and resolved the issue herself instead of simply thinking everything was okay because another server fixed the problem.

Ca’ Mea has wonderful service and great food & drinks. I highly recommend the old fashioned if you’re into cocktails. I’ve had the gnocchi and the ravioli and greatly enjoyed both. Portions are healthy yet not overwhelming. The service is the best I’ve had in Hudson. Wonderfully nice and accommodating staff. True professionals. The outside patio is great if you’re there in the summertime and the weather is good.

Came here with two girlfriends for dinner and drinks. We went on a Saturday night without a reservation. Although the restaurant was very busy they got us seated in 20 mins. We ordered martinis which were amazing. I highly recomend the citrus martini. We settled on the calamari for an appetizer and it was probably the best calamari I have ever had. It was in a red sauce with capers and olives and not fried. I chose the funghi pasta for my entrée which was very good. My friends ordered the salmon and pork which were also excellent. The service was great and I loved the ambiance. Really liked the art they had hanging on the walls. Overall we had a great time!

I’ve been in Hudson only a short while(18 months), and was always intimidated by the«fancy» of this restaurant. But when everything was closed at 9pm on a Tuesday, I decided to give it a whirl for a birthday dinner. I wish I had known all this time what laid inside. The service was impeccable(formal dining style), casual(extremely personable staff), and the wine list was concise and perfect for the menu(I’m an ex-sommelier). The food we had was classic, rustic Italian at near perfect proportions. We opted to NOT have an app as to save room for dessert, and I am so glad we did. The strawberry/rhubard sorbetti over a tart may have been the best sorbetti I’ve ever encountered. Surprisingly, it was made by their bartender, who I dare say has a very bright future as a pastry chef. The chocolate espresso cheesecake was more like a tart, but über rich, and absolutely divine. Highly recommend this place for a nice dinner out. AND we we not snuffed for arriving in shirts and t-shirts. If you like fine dining, like amazing, proper italian cuisine, I couldn’t recommend ca’mea more. It’s up there with Michelin guide restaurants.

A good Northern Italian restaurant on the main drag in Hudson. I was part of a group of 10 a couple of months ago, and we enjoyed effective service and a satisfying meal. A comfortable and inviting space, with just the right touch of lighting and tasteful local artwork, Ca’Mea is divided into two rooms, the bar and some smaller tables occupy the room in which patrons enter, while the main dining room is off to the side. Some seats near the window provided a pleasing streetscape as a colorful sunset washed over Warren Street that evening. Our group appreciated well-mixed cocktails, some good craft beers and ciders, and a wine list with smart, reasonably priced choices among the reds. I recommend close attention to the nightly specials. The winner at the table was a vegetable lasagna, with sliced root vegetables taking the place of the normal layers of pasta. The dish was so good that it was overlooked that it did not contain chicken as advertised by the server(perhaps a typo on the servers list). I chose a seafood crêpe of the specials as an appetizer, and it was wonderfully presented in the shape of a purse and came to the table piping hot. A table of 10 is a big group for the space, and can stress a kitchen, but the kitchen timed everything almost perfectly. Some minor misses on fish entrees(mild complaints of over-seasoning with salt), and a clumped papardelle con funghi(could have used another half teaspoon of oil) did not take away from the overall satisfaction of each dish. Meat dishes were also well-executed. Portions were a good size, but without over doing it. Creative desserts, especially gelato bombas, came in smaller portions, but the size was right to cap a hearty meal. Albanians, like me, have a plethora of options for Italian dining in our area. Ca’Mea may not be at the pinnacle of my list, but it is among the best and a fine option we are lucky to have.

A solid standby Italian restaurant that we always come back to on visits to Hudson. The pastas are perfect(I’m a fan of the ragu rigatoni) and their meats are equally prepared tasty. Oh and the La brea bread is addictive! You have been warned!

We have been here a few times in a row. The food has been considerably upgraded over recent months. Still a bit on the pricey but worth it. I suggest you try the Chef’s specials. They also have a great wine selection. Service is always good.

During a weekend getaway to Hudson, I enjoyed my first meal at this Italian Gem. The restaurant celebrates local art and has plenty of it on display. As an appetizer, I got the duck breast and my friend got the sweet potato soup. Both were delicious! My duck was on top of dill polenta — such a nice compliment to the protein. As an entrée, I got the pasta with smoke pancetta(Trenette al Fumo). It was so yummy! It was a heavier dish and a hefty portion. I wasn’t even able to finish it, which typically isn’t an issue when I’m faced with a pasta. My friend got the Ravioli with Basil and she really enjoyed it. My only complaint would be the pricing. It was a bit high, though it was to be expected in a touristy town. Also, I felt the overall value ratio to the price was high though. I found the wine options by the glass were a great value. I’d go back again!

The service is really good but the food is overpriced. Pastas are not proper italian pastas. Not creamy at all, full of water… Wine is good. Antipasti is good. Dessert is a little«cheap» compared to whats written on the menu.

We stayed in one of the upstairs hotel room for one night. Bed sheets, pillow cases, bathroom, towels and in fact everything in the room were very clean. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

** Note: our experience was on a Friday evening ** Con: the dining room is VERY loud — prepare to shout at your server, and have your server shout at you, and you’ll need descriptions of dishes repeated a few times to hear the ingredients. Pros: Great bread before your order is taken, good wine selections, thoughtfully crafted cocktails. Spinach salad was very fresh and had a lovely, crisp dressing. Grilled calamari: stupendous — «out of this world» good. Ravioli: pork, sweet corn, scallion and ricotta. So incredibly tasty and well put-together! Fungi pasta — various mushrooms with just enough truffle oil. Soooo good. Gnocchi Prima Vera — nice light basil sauce, but this dish didn’t shine with«pow» flavors as much as the other two at the table. Lamb loin — had to fight with it; was a bit tough. Perhaps just an off-night in the meat department. Chocolate dome mousse was great. The outdoor seating area looked nice.

Very disappointed with recent mid-week lunch. Server knew nothing of menu. Fish special was inedible, and I can eat any fish dish except I learned, one — over cooked and vile thick mushy breading. Should be much better food — and service — for a $ 40 pp lunch. No owner on premises so no one to relay complaint to. No one appeared to be in charge or cared about menu or food quality. Tried to relay via comment card but no contact from them. I’ve had OK meals there before tho not very interesting. So no more for me. Ciao Ca Mea. I will stick to Swoon Kitchenbar which is consistently delicious — and the few times I have not been happy they have *always* made it right. CaMea failed again; last time for me.

Ca’ Mea was an obvious choice for dinner, as we were staying in one of the Inns they own. Service was very good. On each of the occasions we were in during the week we were there, one of the owners was on hand. That’s always nice to see. The atmosphere is upscale yet not stuffy. Each of our party of four had a different entrée. My pasta dish was a bit on the bland side, but not bad. My partner had the lamb loin chops, which he said were cooked well. They have a decent wine list, and the bar is fun, with access to an outdoor patio out back.

I have been coming to Ca’mea with my family since it first opened which has to be over a dozen years ago now. I believe, according to my parents, the restaurant used to be a laundry mat back in the day that was rehabed and turned into this wonderful dining establishment which has now grown into a fine restaurant with a cozy backyard area along with an inn in several different old building in Hudson. The owners are almost always there to seat you and the service is wonderful 9 our of 10 times. The server we had on Saturday evening seems new and their were some awkward exchanges but that is a rare experience. The menu is wonderful and always changing. I will bounce between their featured fish or their roasted chicken. Their desserts and coffee are truly what keeps me coming back. I think their tiramisu is the best I have ever had. I would love to try other dishes but I cannot get passed this one. This place has been a staple in the Hudson renaissance that began about 20 years ago and is still going strong if not stronger than ever. A place you must experience either as a local and a weekend visitor to this historic city!

Have eaten here a number of times and enjoyed it, but this time it was a BIG disappointment. My Caesar salad was basically tiny chopped pieces of lettuce with not enough dressing, so it was not very tasty. Pasta dish really had no flavor and had the consistency of paste. My husband commented that it didn’t even look good. Staff tried to do their best(maybe they were new?), but when the entrees were brought out, they had to ask each of us who ordered which dish. We will go back, but not soon.
