This is an awesome, non chain, local restaurant. Design and layout is perfect for giving the laid back, «on beach time» vibe. They’ve got a stage for live music and everything we’ve ordered here has been enjoyable. We always start our meal with a couple dozen oysters. Can’t go wrong with any of their toppings. My favorite entrée is the Shrimp Alfredo while my husband always orders the Lobster Roll.

Pretty cool place. The clam strip basket is awesome and you get a lot. Décor is ok. Parking adequate. We will go back.

Being in the restaurant business I’m a very critical person. I first arrived and went to the bathroom and noticed how clean it actually was. The service was great, the food was excellent, portion size was wonderful, and the atmosphere was fun and Tranquil. I would definitely recommend this to anybody traveling through Hudson we’re looking for a great place to spend some time.

Huge disappointment. Wont be back. We were seated outside since it was way too hot to sit inside, we figured we would at least get a breeze outside. All we could smell was garbage the entire time. We had fried grouper sandwiches that were so bland that even lemon, salt, and tartar sauce didn’t help it. For a $ 14 sandwich, it should have been better. We weren’t even convinced it was really grouper. Total bummer.

Wow… Look at me! One of the first to observe that the wait time here is ridiculous. Said back in February that they MUST get their act together. By reading recent reviews, apparently they are surviving just fine with inexcusable wait times and a hostess who would be better off changing her career to working for the Dept of Motor Vehicles; at least there you expect to be treated like crap. So, it’s been 3 months since I’ve been here and nothing has changed. Must be nice to run a place like crap and still be rolling in money!!! Must be other fish addicts like me who put up with this for the FRESH fish!!! Arrrgh! The two stars are for the inept customer service. If the fish here were rated on it’s own, no question it’s a FIVE star!!!

Was out selecting new items for pool renovation and decided to grab a bite to eat. As we were driving we saw a sign for Mike’s dockside bar and grill and followed the signs. When I tried to check in on Unilocal it told me the business was closed. Apparently they never changed any signs but now is called Get Hooked. Fairly large restaurant but not very busy for a Friday lunchtime. Had inside and outside seating as well as booths, high top tables and bar seating. Menu has quite a few entries from seafood to salads and landlubber meals. We decided to split a crab stuffed mushroom appetizer which was good but not great. 4 mushrooms medium in size. Fried oyster baskets contained a large amount of fries with 9 – 10 small to medium oysters on top. Flavor was good but oysters smaller than I have ever seen and price was $ 15.00. Not a great meal for almost $ 50.00 for 2 people. Food mediocre and way over priced. Service was good though.

I’ve been to the old location and was very happy with my experiences there. We were originally going to go to Sams, but there was an hour and a half wait. We went over to Get Hooked. The waitress must have been new because she was reading the beers on draft off a list. I ordered the Grouper Basket with fries. The food came out about 45 minutes later and my dinner magically turned into the Grouper Sandwich with coleslaw. I have a funny feeling someone else ended up with my order. I was very hungry so I told the waitress not to worry about it. She did bring me a basket of fries. The only part I wasn’t happy with was that the sandwich costs more than the basket and that’s what they charged me for even though that wasn’t what I had ordered. Now, my father in law. Very similar thing. He ordered the dinner, however his also came out on a sandwich too. He ordered a salad as well which came out at the same time as the sandwich, but with no dressing. He asked twice and on the third time I said something they finally brought out his dressing, this is after his meal was almost finished. With all that being said, the food was not that bad, but I remember it being better in the other location. The beer was inexpensive compared to other places in the area. The place was very clean and there was live music playing. We will probably be here again, however only if there is a really long wait at Sams or one of the other places we would usually go to.

This review is for Get Hooked’s new location on the marina. We had been to the old location many times without an issue. This was our fist time at the new location. Friday night of a holiday weekend and it was the most disappointing night EVER. We arrived at 6:30 was told ½ hour to 40 min wait which was tolerable…40 min go by check with hostess and she says another ½ hour. At 8:00 we are still not even seated with lots of empty tables… all because the kitchen was backed up and they are not currently seating anyone… and even if we got seated it would be at least another hour before we got our food. Which was was not what we were told when we first got there or the second time we checked. Now not very happy and very hungry and getting nowhere with the hostess we asked to speak to the manager/owner. He came with a bit of an attitude… hostess lied to him right in front of us and said she told us at least an hour and a half. Manager took the hostesses side, basically called us liars and told us to leave and don’t ever come back. Great customer service… NOT! Word of advice to the owner. Go take some customer service and hospitality classes because if you don’t, and continue to treat good & honest customers that help pay your bills, that nice new location you moved to is gonna fail miserably. You’ve already lost 4 and word of mouth travels very quickly!

I stopped at «get hooked» on Old Dixie one time, it was a hot day so we thought we eat inside. The temperature was not much different. There was noblode there to great us, so we waited for a few minutes, finaloly someone came out of another room(kitchen maybe) — he to9ld us to sit wherever we wanted. While waiting I had my hand on a table and when I lifted it up it was stuck in filth. We left! Tonight I thought, well, give it one more chance” hoping since you moved it would be cleaner and overall better service. N O T! The table was sticky, the back of the booth is filthy, I took pictures! So I ordered the Captains Platter, It had a huge mound of skinny french fries, 4 shrimp, a few pieces of fish and a huge portion of overcooked calamari — nothing had any flavour, so I had to ask for additional lemons and some hot-sauce. I asked one of the girls coming to the table if she had anything spicy — she said well I can bring yo some additional Horseradish so I said– please bring me some. She dropped this little container in front of me with some gray substance inside — well aged Horseradish — the only thing missing was mold. The waitress asked me how things were, I told her the calamari are overcooked, she said — oh I’m sorry — and would you like me to have them cook you another batch — my answer«no thank you» I had lost my appetite. Not only had they been overcooked, but also it looked like I got the bottom of the fryer which also included a fishbone. I told the waitress that fishbones are not acceptable and to tell the schef. She took the bone and then came back with the excuse that they are catching their own fish and that’s the reason for the bone. — Really? And by the way, it did not even contain the seafood listed and all that for $ 25.00 While I was sitting there I overheard the waiter on the next booth tell your cusolmters that the lobster roll was terrible and that it was artificial lobster meat. How can you deceive people like that? I am now home with a horrible taste in my mouth — never again I think that place should be closed down.

This review is for Get Hooked at its new location on Crabtrap Ave at the Marina. We have eaten at their old location and been happy, but our first lunch outing at the new site was horrible. First, we were given dirty silverware to use. When we turned that set back and asked for new, the second set also arrived at the table dirty! We then asked the waitress for the next set to be hand-washed, and they arrived clean. We had three entrees/sandwiches: Shrimp Scampi — The shrimp and linguine were swimming in butter, with no discernible garlic or spices. A Tasteless bowl of pasta with 4 shrimp for $ 10. Mahi Quesidillas — The filling was tasty, but the folded flour tortillas had been fried in oil, leaving a greasy exterior that could not be eaten with your hands. Lobster Roll — This sandwich contained no Lobster — it seemed to be the Surimi imitation crab that’s served in cheap sushi places. he Lobster rolls at the old location were certainly lobster. Disappointing for $ 10. We’ll not be going back.

Went to celebrate a birthday on 3÷5÷15 at the new location, 10 people in our party. Our waitress was Ashley. She was beyond horrible, very scatterbrained! I had to go over to another table to get the salt, pepper and condiments(she had no clue) I realize this is a fish place but I hate fish, so I ordered the Filet Mignon and emphasized RARE, Very RARE, and it came out medium. She had the nerve to tell me «well that is rare». Hello, no it isn’t, and then she gave me a lame story about not being able to cook it rare due to health reasons which is not true. Someone even younger than her with the same bad attitude said the same thing, I explained that a customer can have a steak as rare as they request it. Then she said well we are out of filet so you can’t have another one. So basically they were lying. So, I didn’t bother eating. We were sitting outside and were being bitten by bugs and asked our waitress for a citronella candle several times finally after the 3rd time or so, she said«they are all being used». My friend and I went inside and asked and a nice gentleman brought 2 citronella candles, lit them for us and gave us his own personal bug repellant for our body. Amazing, he found candles right after Ashley said they were being used. She just didn’t care. Until tip time then she made her presence known. I myself usually leave a 20% tip but not this time just left 10%, and regret even leaving that. I have gotten filet there before RARE and a burger RARE as well. Would I go back? Probably not! The Owner or in charge person didn’t even come over to speak with me. I was at an appt. and was talking to someone that owned a restaurant in Hudson and she told me I should bring it to Michelle’s attention. So I will. Oh, one more thing, the waitress didn’t even tell us the specials. If I could rate this experience, I would give it ½ star. EXTREMELYDISSAPOINTED!

Had dinner there and the food was pretty good. The service? Awful! Seated immediately, ordered a couple of beers. Waited @ 15 minutes for the beers. Decided to order dinner right away, based on the time it took to get our drinks. Waited for 48 minutes before our soup and salad arrived. Waitress kept apologizing, but she was clearly over-worked. I think the place was severely under-staffed. Too bad. the delays ruined what should have been a good meal.

Get Hooked is no longer an Almost Waterfront Restaurant. They recently made it with their move to Port Hudson, further down Hudson Av at the water. Bigger room, bigger bar, tiki bar and the same great menu. We keep going back and they keep getting better. Stevesumner66

They have just moved to their new location at the Hudson Harbor. That may have been a contributing factor in the impression the food made. We have eaten there twice since the move. They were out of several fish items and oysters on both occasions. They substituted other seafood for what was supposed to be in my meal. My food was OK but nothing special. The other couple who were with us did not finish their meals as they said they were«awful». We will try them again but will wait awhile to see if they get it together. We had heard good recommendations from friends who had eaten there in the past.

I have been dining here for a long time. They have slowly gotten worse. Our food the last couple times has been terrible. Inconsistent on the cooking. I think they better up the game because down the road they serve fresh fish too!

They have some good seafood dishes but the lunch specials were disappointing. The crab cake sandwich was BAD. No crab, well maybe a shred here or there somewhere in there. It was a doughy undercooked mess. The philly cheese steak was also bad. Salty steak em and very little cheese. You’re better off going up the street to the philly cheese steak place on 19. Why offer these as specials? And our waiter recommended the gross crab cake sandwich. Very disappointing. Would so love to have a good locals place in Hudson. El Chicanito is good for Mexican and the ice cream shop is good. Otherwise there just isn’t much around unfortunately. I would come back for the shrimp and grits or fish dinners but I hope they get this place together better. The fries were good and crispy. The lobster roll was pretty good with melted butter, seemed to me to be a mix of decent lobster meat(certainly not the freshest I’ve had) and faux lobster. Feeling let down and it’s not a cheap place.

This spot reminds me of a mixture between an authentic Hawaiian locals-mostly bar, a Kitschy Joes Crabshack and a set from a movie about working in a restaurant. Oh, and they serve some pretty delicious, very fresh, well priced fish. Initially, we sat at the bar and were neglected for a solid five minutes. But, finally a waitress/bartender asked us for our drink and food order. I had a grilled grouper dinner which was expertly cooked, large and delicious. It came with veggies and a baked sweet potato. The sides were not soaked in butter or oil which I appreciate. My special lady had a salad with a grilled piece of Mahi(we know Mahi as Dorado too). She was very happy with her fresh fish. The coup de grace, for us, were the enormous stone crab claws served cold with drawn butter. They were only $ 12.95! This is a huge steal. In Chicago or LA, a serving like this would cost $ 35. We are here visiting family and plan on returning to this joint at least one more time. They were quite busy when we arrived and pretty swamped when we left on a Tuesday night. So, plan accordingly. Maybe they could hire a full time bartender? Oh, beer and wine only here folks. I want to spare you this, but, I can’t resist… GETHOOKED!
