Holy fu54king sh48 this place was the BIZness. Space is tight, it’s a little cheek-to-jowl, but damn if this isn’t on par with Mission Chinese/PokPok/Bunker. Seriously incredible Asian food with nods to Thai, Sichuan, Vietnamese, etc. Subtle, thoughtful, spicy, exciting. Honey roasted parsnips were refreshing, pork belly bao were huge and good, spicy lump crab cakes were really lumpy and crabby in the best way, and the pork greens and rice I dream about still. Highly recommend the spicy maple old-fashioned(forget the exact name), which was so much more balanced than most old-fashioneds. Why can nobody make a decent old-fashioned? Service was really awesome and friendly and helpful. My one complaint was the hostess who had a very heavy-footed stomp and wore these high, probably thick wooden heels — the room literally shook each time she walked by, which was often. Anyway, go here. Go here when you’re in Hudson and you’re tired of eating duck breast and salmon and kale caesars.

Pork buns Pork buns Pork buns I could eat them everyday for the rest of my life. Heard the ribs are good too, haven’t gotten the chance to try them yet.

Food studio Is located on warren st. A very tiny but quant dinner option. CASHONLY Limited menu but enough to chose from. Ordered the ribs and crunchy slaw, with a side of white rice. This was extremely delicious. Packed with flavor and really enjoyed by myself and my girlfriend. Would recommend you try this dish

Probably the best restaurant in Hudson for Asian food. I was there on a Monday and recommended by my girlfriend to try their Monday special menu. For $ 20, you get a starter, bbq pork bun, a can of beer and main course, ramen noodles. The bbq pork bun hits all the right spots and the ramen broth was so tasty with noodles cooked to perfection. Definitely highly recommended for anyone visiting Hudson!

Great local Vietnamese joint, using local foods. Must try when in Hudson. Also very accommodating to walk ins.

Definitely a welcome addition to Hudson. Food studio is a reasonably priced small restaurant. It definitely is Asian-inspired and not authentic, but they come very close. The range of prices is what sets it apart in over-priced, fine-dining Hudson. It’s really the only mid-range thing on offer. The service is always good. No reservations so on a busy weekend can be a struggle but go early and it’ll be fine. Drinks are done quite well actually and beer selection is great. The appetizers range from meal-size to bite-size so inquire before you order. The buns are good. Salad great. Crab cakes yum. Brussels are awesome and big. Squid is great and again huge. Mains range from $ 15 – 25 or so. The Phở is fantastic when on offer(ask for hot sauce and use ALL the condiments. Broth is thin but works fine. Noodles are fine). The ramen, well if you’ve had good ramen this will pale in comparison. But since the closest good ramen is 2 hours away, it’s fine(again needs umami in the broth and a better bite to the noodles). Pork and rice is good but you could easily duplicate that at home. It’s huge though so easily two meals and great for a budget conscious person. Other vegetarian mains tend to be quite good. I don’t order the pricey mains as they’re similar in price and presentation to other places so not worth it. I am a regular here and love it.

I like the vibe and food at Hudson Food Studio. I’ve lived in SE Asia and northern Asia, so the food feels good and familiar in a hybrid kind of way. The atmosphere is lovely with a long shared table by the open kitchen. There are other tables along the rectangular shaped restaurant that allow you to have a good conversation and still feel like you in in the middle of things. I’ve eaten here several times. Last week we shared crab cakes, pork buns, and the Vietnamese chicken salad. The crab cakes had a nice crust and good crab filling. I felt like I was eating crab, and not a heavy cake. The pork belly baos were tasty and the sauce was a good balance to the fattiness of pork belly. The VN chicken salad was a bit watery and could have used more dressing. I’ve had here before where the salad was quite good, so will try to settle once and for all next time. The restaurant was full and the crowd was mixed with locals, business people, and city folks too. As with many restaurants in Hudson, check to see if they are open M-W, as some places close on Mondays, others on Tuesdays. I would hope the credit card machine arrives before the next trip here. The one with cash always inherits the bill.

I had the ramen which was hearty and had great, plentiful ingredients such as pork, egg, mushroom. The broth could have been more complex, but I’ve never had pork as fine as this in any ramen.

This is truly a destination restaurant if you can get in. About 23 seats, all cash and so worth a locals visit or a detour. Vietnam I NFLIEEE But WA Dish Original And Luscious. Generous portions. So called clan chowder beyond belief. Wagyu steak, champions and rice noodles, steamed bins, lump crab cakes all winners

The ramen is served with a generous piece of pork and noodles. Very filling. The phở is lighter in flavor, but equally wonderful and filling. If you enjoy a slightly vinegary broth, order this! The pork buns aren’t the best I’ve had, but they are still delicious. The ambiance is very comfortable. Great for meeting friends. Friendly staff as well. Just don’t forget to bring cash!

Quaint restaurant… Small and cozy. The food and service was great. I ordered the crab cakes as an entrée with a side of slaw. The slaw was exploding with flavor. The crab cake sauce was a little spicy but it was still good. My date ordered the pork ribs and wow… Those had some serious flavor!!! I highly recommend. The apps were a good enough size for an entrée. Stop by and check it out! Worth the time, money, and experience

Although the food is good the chill factor on a cold night can ruin ones enjoyment. Cold and miserable. Why doesn’t this restaurant take credit cards? The waitress forgot to add up a bill correctly and we had to go to the ATM twice! This adds $ 10 to the price. For goodness sake get modern… Accept credit cards. Grow Up. Back to the food. The food is great. It really is. The staff are unhelpful and dull. Perhaps they are just sad that they have to tell everybody that they don’t accept credit cards.

It is nowhere close to asian-fusion, honestly it should not be called asian anything. The portions are too small for the $. It’s pretentious and lame and the space feels claustrophobic. One of the worst plates of «pad-thai» I have ever had… makes me wish this town had a real thai or vietnamesse or malaysian restaurant instead.

What to love: locally-sourced ingredients, open kitchen, friendly waitstaff, tasty dishes, easy accommodation of special diets(veggie options, swapping rice for greens, etc) My hangups: 1) this is not«Asian fusion.» Cooking with soy sauce and ginger and serving things over jasmine rice does not make food«Asian,» especially if there isn’t a single Asian person in the kitchen. 2) The food is not nearly good enough to justify $ 20 a plate(ditto to the $ 10+ glasses of wine). 3) The farm-to-table ethos doesn’t seem to carry over to the beverages. Not one of the wines was made in the area, despite the plethora of excellent local vineyards.

I’m fairly new to Hudson and was excited to stumble upon HFS. The storefront is narrow and easy to miss but the great food is hard to pass up and I find myself craving the rich menu which combines a fresh farm-to-table integrity with clean, contemporary Asian flavors. Inventive cocktails, a great wine list, locally sourced ingredients and nice presentation. The vibe is comfortable — good energy for dining as a couple or with a large group of friends at the oversized community table. Standouts were the bao, brussel sprouts, siracha and noodles. Can’t wait to go back.

Sadly disappointed. This chef is a huge talent. I give four stars and not less because it’s a four or five star restaurant acting like a three star. Service was fine though the waitstaff could get jobs in a funeral home if this doesn’t work out.

We came here on a monday night. We were banking on the duck dish, but to our dismay, they were out of it because of a busy weekend. So, with open minds, we ordered the brussel sprouts to start, and I had the pork-greens dish(not sure of the name). cooked to perfection, greens not hard and chewy at ALL, it made me want to eat more kale for sure. The tea we ordered was from a tea shop in Chinatown known as Ten-Ren that we have been to many times, and were shocked they served it. good meal overall, will be back on a weekend.
