If you’re in Hudson and you need Chinese food, this is the place. Classic and comforting, large portions. Shrimp in the fried rice is weird, almost everything else is awesome. Great General Tso’s chicken, pork dumplings, spare ribs. Exactly what you’d expect. One of the few restaurants that delivers in Hudson, so that is a serious plus.

They should rename the seafood soup to foot slime soup. The thick goo that composed the broth was non Newtonian in it’s cornstarch contents. The shrimp was tiny, and smelled of feet. The vegetables were fresh and put up a valiant effort, but were heroically overwhelmed by the other ingredients. The only flavor that came through the placid mire was the shrimp. Very footy. You could really taste the«stupid fat American» that is clearly what they think of those who eat their food. It wasn’t served, it was perpetrated. Do you flush out down the toilet or freeze it and throw it out? How is this food? Why would anyone eat here? This dish raised many questions. The best answer is to not eat here.

Food was not ready when I got there.(I waited 25 min after placing my order after reading other reviews) 40 minutes after i placed my call(2PM) was I able to get my take-out. The food was not even that good tasting. How is my food over cooked when I had to wait for it?!? And the price. A little steep. 9.50 for General Tso Chicken Lunch Combo, and it only comes with chicken and rice. Anywhere else is $ 7 for a combo with an egg roll. I won’t ever be coming here again! I’ll take the trip across the bridge and go to Chopstix in Catskill.

Sorry to notch Down Red Chopsticks by a star, but here’s why: 1) Lately, even when I phone them 20 minutes ahead of time(for you fellow Amtrak-ers to Hudson, this means«when I leave Rhinecliff station»), I am always made to wait about 5 – 10 minutes for my pick-up order. This is too long for me, since I am often stopping off in a cab and the driver can’t wait. I would simply just phone them next time even sooner with my order, except that… 2) Red Chopsticks has taken all the guilty pleasure out of my once-a-month order of shrimp egg rolls, by purveying a product with too dense of a crust, only a baby shrimp fragment(literally!) in each roll and by over-frying them to the color and consistency of tanned shoe leather 3) The brown slop factor has increased annoyingly on the chicken with broccoli(only if you remember to FORCEFULLY request«light on the brown sauce, please» will your dish not be dripping brown grease), and finally… 4) Red Chopsticks is NOT your kinda Lo Mein Place unless you like your lo mein very thick, almost ropey and dense(they used to use a lighter lo mein noodle), and you don’t like vegetables mixed in. Just because I ordered Pork Lo Mein, doesn’t mean I wouldn’t like a carrot, scallion, or some bok choy in there just to notch down that big starch factor(after all… even most hogs dig veggies) I’m going to revert to Food Sing next time, and post a review afterward.
