Was there with family and friends today and had fun. The refs did an awesome job of keeping everyone safe and made the games enjoyable for all ages. My only complaint is the attitude of the«boss» there today. Didn’t get his name but was the only one wearing the company yellow jersey standing behind the counter. Could use a course on customer service and satisfaction. Maybe it was that time of the month for him. He’s in the wrong business if he doesn’t understand this because there are other options. Try to avoid him or hope he’s in a better mood.

This was our first experience with paintball and it was for our 12 year olds birthday party. We chose the private party vs. walk –on since most of the boys had never played before. Upon check-in, the guy who rang us up actually pointed out that we could use a less expensive option per a deal on their website. That was HUGE for us since we had 10 boys and at 30 dollars per child,(which includes an hour of play, safety equipment and paintballs) it was adding up quickly. Once we were checked in, we were assigned a referee who issued guns and helmets to the boys, then sat them down and trained them how to use the machinery, went over the rules and then safety concerns. With that done, we headed off to the first of 3 fields. The ref was engaged with the kids and clearly enjoyed his job. We ended up purchasing two extra boxes of paintballs at 22.00 per box, but I think the boys were so trigger happy on the first field that they went through more ammo than they should have. We thoroughly enjoyed this experience and as a result there are now 10 new little customers who are already begging their parents to take them again.

Went here with my brothers and had a blast! The price was very reasonable for entry and equipment rental. We also found that splitting one case of paintballs between the three of us lasted for 9 games(basically the whole 5 hours we were there). Not bad at all for the amount of fun we had. The equipment we rented was solid and worked pretty well. I had a few jammed balls but nothing I couldn’t clear. Appreciate that they had a $ 10 discount for checking in on Unilocal too! We played the walk-on open games. This usually consisted of playing a field twice, getting to try it from each side, before moving on to a different course. Some courses we didn’t get to try because bachelor parties were tying them up, so we did some courses multiple times over and over. It was no problem though to just jump in or sit a round out. They were grilling food and selling it and the burgers were pretty good. Some of the people take the game pretty seriously. There were a couple d-bag teen and early 20’s types who thought they could tell everyone what to do because they had their own gun and a paintball jersey. They were getting mad when people wouldn’t listen to them or give them cover so they could hog the glory. Dude, this isn’t Call of Duty. Simmer down there Spartacus. This is open play with noobs. What do you expect? Also, some people would keep shooting you after you were hit and walking off the course — even if your gun was covered and held over your head. Just noobs shooting at anything that moved. I found if you called«I’m out» loudly and repeatedly 6 to 8 times, then held just your gun out(to test the waters), then stood up, at least the person that knocked you out would stop firing. You’d still catch the random shot on your walk out though. The refs I could take or leave. All they did was text and play games on their cell phones at the back of the course. I didn’t see any ref’ing going on during any of my 5 hours there(like refs examining hits or looking for dirty play). It was basically the honor system. If you felt a hit you called yourself out and walked out. And everyone with an auto gun used full auto. They said there was no difference between the 3-ball burst the rules called for and full auto, since if you just pulsed your finger on the trigger repeatedly it ended up being the same thing. Had fun though. I’ll definitely go back this fall for more.

Absolutely outstanding is the best way I can explain splat tag. Knowledgable staff, friendly referees, and awesomely unique fields. It’s not too far away from the metro area of MSP(about 30 minutes), and the prices make it definitely worth the drive. Best bang for your buck in the Midwest, by a long shot.
