On short notice, I sent a print job(ten 24-page Christmas song books, duplexed, on 24-lb paper, collated and stapled) via email to this Staples a 3:05PM. They told me it would be ready in an hour, which met my need for a 5PM Winter Walk performance. When I picked them up at 4:30PM, they were all ready and perfect; no mistakes! Cost with tax: $ 27. I was(and am) very pleased. That is good service. Saved my bacon!

I went in here yesterday, not really looking for anything in particular. Although I went out without anything, I was able to get a short vantage point of this store. I looked through the pens and computers and even stopped to look at computer keyboards. I went quickly through the binder areas and the shelving units towards the back of the store.(With Staples you end up with two designs in the way the rows are set up, and this store ended up with an older design. On most stores, there are several rows on the right side, but these rows here are straight back from the front doors(showing the older design of the place).) But, through it all, I wasn’t able to find anything purchase-worthy in my budget. Price-wise, it’s much like any other Staples store. The employees didn’t try to stop to greet or talk with me much. The few I passed were stocking the store shelves. For the few I passed, they did say Good morning to me as I was the first customer that walked through the doors that morning; and that was one of their good traits of this visit. Having been there before(the last trip was many years before), I knew about this location, but hadn’t been into this location in a while, so I thought I’d try it again. The only drawback I found was that it’s placed in an area that is mostly the site of a «deadbeat mall» that is loosing stores left and right. The only good thing this mall has going(besides this Staples location) is the Tractor Supply and Hudson Movieplex(part of Regal Cinemas, although branding wasn’t shown on the doors). I don’t know. If I’m ever in the area and this location is open and I have a bigger budget or something I’m desperately looking for that I can’t find anywheres else, I MIGHT try here.

I want to rescue Staples from a one star rating. It’s not horrible, in my experience, and I’ve been here several times, It is an office supply store that is fully stocked with some helpful workers, tho it’s hard to know whether the person you ask for help is just going through the motions and hasn’t a clue about where/what is in the store until after you’ve spent time in the aisles with them. Some will even answer questions with total disregard apparently of whether what they say is accurate — e. g, printer ink cartridge replacements, difference in photo paper, etc. Annoying, yes. But if you’re lucky like I was one day to get the manager to help me she could not have been more obliging, even cutting heavy duty paper on the paper cutter gratis for me and with a smile. So I say: not terrible! And they carry plenty o’ pens and paper.

Very bad experience with employee and manager. She couldn’t fix a problem I had with the copier, which apparently does not default to zero in between customers, so I was charged for hundreds of extra copies,. She could not stop the machine from doing this, but she watched and then charged me anyway. This manager, Karol, was also extremely rude to me. She insisted on calling me terms of endearment such as «Honey», «Hon», etc, despite my repeated requests to be treated with respect. Staples in Hudson is not a good place.

Add Staples to the fail list. I have always considered them to be the best of the worst, but that is no longer the case. I needed a laptop as my Toshiba POS that I had for two years bit the dust. Nothing fancy, just something to do email, internet and some light processing. Staples had an Acer that was $ 299 and the warranty for 2 years was $ 60 extra, so for $ 360 i had a guaranteed computer that is workable for 3 years… if I wanted to get a new one, I could let the kids play with it. Well, whenever I have a problem with a computer, I can bring it into Staples and they either fix it on site or send it off and call me when it is ready. But, as it turns out, the warranty process is different for Acer computers than every other machine I have ever purchased… no mention of that at the time of purchase! So I bring the computer in and the guy gives me a number(the wrong number as it turns out) and tells me that Acer will send me a box(wrong) and I wait on hold for 30 minutes and get disconnected. Then I call again and get disconnected again. Then I call the Staples store and the manager gives me the right number… I tell him that I wouldn’t have bought the computer if I knew they weren’t going to handle the repair and expressed my displeasure and his response was«sorry about that». Then I call the Acer number and get disconnected. Then I create a ticket online and get an email of where to send my laptop to in Texas. No mention of how the shipping will get paid for. If Staples sells a warranty, they should be very upfront about it being different than every other warranty I have had in the past… I have purchased a lot of computers for friends, myself and organizations, but I will not be shopping there again. Total Customer Service Failure on the part of Staples.
