i know, i know… this is a Taco Bell. but i think this one deserves a review because of its truly remarkable sloth. i’ve been through the drive-through here three or four times now, and the last two times entailed amazingly long waits. on the first of these two visits there were about four cars in front of mine and it took about 20 minutes to get from the ordering kiosk to the pick-up window, and about another five minutes to get my food once i was there, and today, with no cars ahead of me, it took ten minutes and change to get from ordering to driving away with my food. i’d placed my order through the mobile app and when i checked in at the kiosk, the girl told me to give her a minute and she’d «let me know what she found», or something else equally peculiar; it took her about two minutes to get back to me to say she’d found my order, at which point she said nothing else — no «please pull ahead to the second window» or anything like that — so after a mystifying pause, that’s what i did… whereupon i waited another seven minutes or so for my food to be handed out to me… with no receipt, which i suspect was deliberate, as Taco Bell’s website won’t let you submit a survey about your experience unless you enter numbers found on your receipt… which of course you can’t do if you don’t *have* a receipt. i have been able to observe the staff doing an awful lot of relaxed socializing with each other while i’ve been waiting for my food. i guess it’s good that they so enjoy each other’s company… i can just wish serving customers came a bit higher on their list of priorities. and they get one star for getting my custom order correct(this time).
