Spouse and I had nice service here. Our server was very sweet and attentive. We started with fried cheese curds as a starter, those were two thumbs up. Our sandwich and burger came out in a timely fashion. The food was just fine, but nothing tasted particularly special. I was visiting from out of town, so I won’t be able to revisit this place to give it a second chance.

We stopped in on a quiet holiday weekend for a late lunch after finding this spot on Unilocal. Our cheery server pointed out that burgers are their specialty so we tried«the burger»(2 handmade pattys with cheese-BIG!) and the Brew burger(topped with an onion ring and an ale cheese sauce-yum!). Since we are in Wisconsin, of course we had to also have the fried cheese curds as an appetizer. They were perfectly prepared and were served with a side of BBQ sauce. The order is a bit on the small side but their burgers are huge so it was probably just as well. We also split a large Cesar salad which was also pretty big. Food was very good and service very friendly. Recommended

Super cute place in a super cute place! I sat at table in bat but hadn’t gotten service so I moved to the bar. Tried the cheese curds but but a fan. Had the chicken sandwich and LOVED it! I would go back! Lived talking with the locals at the bar.

Best adult bar in Hudson. The selection of draft beers is probably the best on the east side of the metro area and one of the anywhere in the twin cities area. But what really sets this place apart is the«bar» food. It’s way more than that. For example, the pork and chicken sliders on the appetizer menu are just incredible. I recommend a double order so you won’t have to wait when you want more and you will want more. On the«adult Bar» comment, what I mean is this, you can have a good time at the Stone Tap but it’s a chill non raucus environment.

Just moved to Hudson this week and immediately fell in love with Stone tap. Great food, awesome line up of beers on tap. With a beautiful cozy interior and welcoming staff I’ll be a regular for sure. The manager Carly is so friendly telling us about the history of the building and area. Sweet being in a place with so much of a past.

Fantastic selection of local beer. Came in for lunch … Went out dancing after having a rich chocolate bourbon stout! Cheese curds was meh and so was Amish chicken and dumplings. I’ll stick with the burger next time. Friendly service, nice ambience.

I came here from the east coast on a very specific mission: experience the glory of fried cheese curds. After disembarking at MSP I drove straight here and sat at the bar with a Local beer and ate an entire appetizer myself without shame or fear. Bite after bite my eyes welled up with delight as I would wash the stringy concoction down with draft beer. Nothing short of a religious experience. Thank you. Signed, A girl who won’t find this level of cheese-curd-satisfaction in New England.

I was visiting the«Up North» homeland over the weekend and stopped by Stone Tap for dinner with my mother and my brother. It’s a cute little bar and restaurant with exposed brick/stone and fun lighting. I liked the atmosphere a lot. Our initial experience was not so great — there was a small line of people and a hostess who seemed a little too busy or confused or something to help us. She walked up to my brother at least three times and looked at him and then walked away without even acknowledging him. A simple, «I’ll be right with you» would have sufficed. Thank goodness this was the only poor service we received. We sat on the restaurant side with a full view of the kitchen, which was fun for my brother, who has been in the restaurant industry for a decade. He spent most of the meal completely ignoring the women at the table and instead stared at the kitchen. He seemed impressed with both the quantity and the quality of the meals that came out of, in his words, «that small kitchen.» Our server was a younger girl, who was excellent. She was everything a good server should be — attentive, timely, friendly and fun. We ordered the cheese curds with blueberry barbecue sauce as our appetizer. I have eaten more cheese curds in my lifetime that I really should admit, thus making me a bit of a self proclaimed cheese curd connoisseur. These were great, and the sauce was even better than the curds. Blueberry barbecue. I can only imagine who thought that up — but it works! For dinner I chose the margarita flatbread. I am a non-meat eater which narrows my selections a lot. The gnocchi sounded great, however I had already eaten gnocchi once that week and wanted something a little lighter. The flatbread was a nice size(just right for a meal — not too big, not too small) and the actual flatbread was amazing. Seriously, amazing. I don’t know what kind of magical things they put in that crust, but it made me quite happy. The toppings were good, too, however my one small complaint is that I felt like the toppings were pretty sparce. The edge pieces of the flatbread only had the tiniest amount of cheese and tomatoes, and while I did truly love that crust, there was a lot without any kind of topping at all. I didn’t have any beer, but both my mom and my brother were impressed with the selection of beers on tap. There were a lot of things I hadn’t heard of before, and they really enjoyed the beers they chose. For dessert, the three of us shared a piece of the peanut butter chocolate pie. It was huge. And delicious. I’m glad we shared, because there is no way that I could have eaten the whole things… and I’m definitely a sweets lover! The pie was rich and creamy and hit the spot. When I was growing up(in a nearby town), Hudson was never a «destination.» I love seeing all the fun new shops and restaurants that have popped up in town and how nice the downtown area has become. Stone Tap is a great part of this whole scene, and I will be sure to recommend it to my friends and family who live in the area.

Went here on a Sunday for a baby shower. I ordered the vegetarian gnocchi and some tea(because it was super cold outside and I was sick! Don’t judge). A few in our group got the fungus burger and I heard no complaints. The cheese curds with blueberry barbecue were great(mostly due to the sauce). One of us got the bruschetta and it looked super fresh and tasty. My friend had the freekeh burger and I tried a bite. It’s more crunchy than soft and really doesn’t make you think of what a burger should be(albeit, a meat-free one). Great option for some people but not for me. One of us also ordered a bowl of the beer cheese soup. Bowls here are huge! Like Perkins man-hole cover pancakes huge. The server that brought it out was very nice and said he highly recommended it but when we tried it it was way too oniony. I can’t express how overpowering it was. Big disappointment. My vegetarian gnocchi was tasty but I feel like it could have been cooked better. Some of the gnocchi were pretty dark and crispy on the bottom and others were not. Seemed a little overdone and dried out. The rest of the dish was very oily. My tea consisted of two cheap tea bags and some hot water for 2.50. I can buy an entire box of tea for less than that. Some of the fries seemed a little dark and one of our meals was burnt and had to be redone. They are very gluten free friendly though because they have a separate fryer. Mostly why they’re getting three stars and not two. At the end of our meal one of us had to get up and ask the waitress for our bill. There was no one else in her section. Not a place I would desire to go to again unless they step up their game.

When I first moved into town is when this place was just opening and going thru some growing pains. I always ask around town and look at reviews before checking a place out and did not hear a ton of positive feedback so I decided to not waste my time and have been just passing this business by for over two years. I am so glad I let my husband just pick a place for us last night and ended up here. Dave our bartender was the star of the show for me. A hospitable and friendly staff makes all the difference in my experience which is why I had been changing were my local hot spots are as of this past year. The place has a very wonderful atmosphere with stone walls and a comfortable bar. Fabulous drink and food options. They are even willing to work with you on some special request. I got the vegetarian gnocchi and was able to get them to but a cream sauce with it — exactly what i wanted! I thought the bar area looked clean and well maintained — after watching Bar rescue trust me I look at that and sometimes your just better off opting for a can or bottle of something if it looks sketchy and move along. They have pub burger nights and brat burger nights. Prices are reasonable and they have a very nice selection of craft beers on tap. I cannot wait to go back and try the peanut butter pie — I just did not have room for it last night!

MN family had an awesome WI Wednesday dinner here. Phenomenal beer selection, great happy hour, and the Brussels sprouts are on par with our favorite Chicago restaurant. The staff were so friendly from our welcome at the door to our service throughout the meal with Katie the cool server. Five stars!!! Can’t wait to come back! #wisconsinwednesday

Service was amazing! Our server answered our questions about the menu and was prompt with bringing our food. One of the other servers even grabbed us a beer while she was busy. The fries were amazing. Our burgers were cooked perfectly. The best part? My boyfriend told the server«we are food critics» after we gave her our 10% check in deal. She later walked us out and told us to come back and see her and referenced our food critic joke. Hilarious and honestly made my night. So awesome.

This place sucks! I’ve tried to patronize this place since it opened but the service is always lackluster! So much potential but in my opinion mismanagement! Train your employees!

What a wonderful adventure here! Stone Tap was selected via Unilocal review, after searching for a local place(I can go to plenty of franchise joints at home.) After parking on the street, right in front of it, there was no doubt this was the place to be. A 10% discount coupon for checking in on Unilocal didn’t hurt any, either! We had our choice of seating(it was well after the normal dinner hour) and it took us awhile to choose a beverage. Stone Tap has a beer list better than most restaurants’ wine lists. We ordered an Octoberfest brew and something called«American Sky Snap Your Cap» which is a bourbon barrel Scotch ale. It’s dark, full bodied and has an interesting aftertaste that might be described as reminiscent of licorice. It was excellent. The brewery was recently purchased by a brewing company in Minneapolis, which means, once the current supply is gone, it’s gone, since it cannot be delivered across the St. Croix. For entrees, we ordered their Fungus Burger(burger sauteed with wild mushrooms and Swiss chees) and since I don’t eat much, I opted for Crab Cakes off their unique«Small Plates» menu. The burger was excellent and quickly consumed. My crab cakes were interesting in that they were smaller and shaped differently from any crab cake I’ve had before. The coating was a bit too spicy for my taste, but when it comes to spices, I’m a wuss. I would recommend you try them! I don’t get to Hudson very often, but next time I do, Stone Tap is on my «must visit» list!

Solid, but not spectacular. The space they have is interesting, and the food was good. Service was decent. All in all it was perfectly okay. But that’s sort of it — okay. The beer selection was large, and I was impressed by some of what they had — I didn’t have the opportunity to try more than one as it was lunch time. Kids seemed fine with the place too — they had a coloring menu which they always get a few minutes of joy from. I’d not be sad about returning here, but I might check out some other places in the area first.

A very good meal with a place with a smooth feel to it. Great service with a smile all the time. Great menu when it comes to drinks. Definitely helps open your horizons on specialty drink and new micro brews. I had the Amish Chicken and Dumplings. Definitely not what I was expecting for a presentation however, simple minded as I am, it worked out well. Very tasting. Not a huge fan of brussels sprouts but I decided to break my norm of burgers etc. Delicious, tender chicken, nice cheese curd size spatzel style dumplings. I would come back to try more of the menu.

The Stone Tap is a downtown Hudson gem. My dad and I were starving after 18 holes in the heat over at Troy Burne, so I took it upon myself to find us a suitable eating establishment(i.e., one with a top notch burger and good tap beer selection). I knew the latter would be easy to find(it’s Wisconsin, after all), but the former can be elusive. If you’re looking for a divey old local bar, this is not your spot. It’s very much modern, from the décor to the menus. Basically the only knock I found is that it calls itself a «Gastropub,» which screams pretentious(and Stone Tap is not). I ordered«The Burger,» which consists of a mixture of sirloin, short rib, and brisket with cheese melted in between two stacks of burger. Whoa. This one is up there with the legendary burger at The Nook, only it is much higher end beef with perfectly gooey cheesy texture that didn’t sit harshly in my stomach like the Nook’s burger did. My dad ordered the Pig & Cow burger and had nothing but good things to say about it — it’s pork shoulder, and my dad is trying to stay away from red meat these days(his loss :)). I dug the fries as well, and you have a number of choices, including several options for«loaded» fries. My dad had buffalo cheese fries or something like that and said they were delicious. I went with the standard fries and found them to be tasty and cooked just right, though I think they could have put any fries next to that burger and I would have found them amazing simply by association. Well done, Stone Tap!

Be movin’ on up They deserve another star Four it is for now As I said in my last review, I was torn between a three and a four. After a couple more visits since then, I have to bump this place up to four stars. I wasn’t a big fan of the burger or steak that I had there, but the menu constantly rotates as I said before. So if you weren’t crazy about one dish you had the last time, come back and give them another go as you will always find something different. The nachos are off the chain crazy good. I recommend getting them with the pork. Close call in my book between Agave and Stone Tap as to who has the better nachos. Tonight, I had the shrimp with polenta. The shrimp are not the biggest, but it was a great dish. I left very satisfied. The happy hour and beer selection here are both great, and the staff is super friendly. Stone Tap is now part of my regular rotation. Maybe talkin’ a five on my next review update…

This place is delicious! I was visiting from California and we were looking for a good place to grab some lunch after our flight. We found this gem(unlike the fast food places that surround our hotel) and took a seat. We were greeted right away by the bartender– she was extremely helpful in suggesting beer and food. We had the cheese curds, BLT and Short Rib sandwich — all delicious! My brother had some of the local beer and said it was great. This place is cute, wood floors with fun lighting. Although I went with my family during lunch– it would probably be a great place for dinner or drinks with friends too! Great food. Great service. Wish I lived closer.

A very solid experience in all possible ways. My husband has been here 4 or 5 times with out-of-town family and friends, yet coming here had alluded me until yesterday. We wanted to pick up some beer at Casanova down the road(because, you know, Minnesota still likes living in the dark ages where you can’t sell liquor on Sunday) and my husband said he saw that they had lots of good beer currently on tap. Boy, did they ever! Besides the numerous New Glarus beers that just don’t get shipped to Minnesota, they had Dogfish Head 120(that bad boy is 18% so he opted for the 5 oz. pour), Victory Hop Ranch, and two Tyranena beers. He wound up doing a flight of those latter three along with a New Glarus and he was really happy to get to try all of those beers for very reasonable prices. We came right at the beginning of Happy Hour on a Sunday(2:00) and since I’m not much of a beer drinker, I enjoyed $ 3 whiskey ginger’s. We both really liked our food. The fries in particular are out of this world! Seriously some of the best I can remember having — super crispy and crunchy and you don’t end up with any of the gross, soft ones left at the end because they are all fried the same way. I had the basic pub burger with American cheese and it was cooked so there was still a little pink in it, the way I like it. My husband got the BLT which he also enjoyed. I can’t quite tell what the place would be like when it’s busy or at a peek time, but for the experience we had at the time we went, this was a 5 star experience.
