Love the fries and the clam chowder is the best. We have been here a number of times and always had excellent food. Just tried the fried mozzarella app… yumm The service was great although we were in at slower times. a great add to Hudson!

I’m sorry… I tried to like this place, but the third time should have been a charm. Seated promptly on a Thursday evening. Not terribly busy, yet it took the server 12 minutes to greet us. Drinks took about the same. Ordered the pork chops and the seafood or fishermen plate. The seafood was like eating a frozen dinner… under done scallops. .over done hard freezer burn salmon. good white fish. but bland shrimp. The pork chops were hard and over cooked. The salad was ok. The house made bread and olive oil was the only good part of my meal. Servers giving checks to tables covered with stacked up dirty dishes. no offer of a second beverage no coffee or desert offer…58. Bucks of crap. I’m so disappointed. So sick. of paying for frozen, under seasoned, over or under done food. Sorry never going back… I like desert coffee after dinner drinks… it it’s hard to get here.

Was in Hudson with the owner of the company I work for. Our customer recommend The Postmark so we gave it a try and had a mixed experience. For starters, the building is an old post office. They’ve done a great job of using the space. It is decorated with older/antique post office items and looks pretty neat. Our service was a bit on the slow side. Took forever to get a beer and a wine. The server appeared to be really busy and she was covering a really big chunk of the dining room. She was friendly, just a tad slow in getting back to us. We both ordered New York strip steaks. They came with soup or salad. My boss had salad and I asked for chicken noodle soup. It was a tad too salty but good. I never received the bread that the menu promised. Our steaks came grilled perfectly medium and looked great. We both chose the asparagus side. The stalks were grilled beautifully. Both the steak and asparagus tasted great. If the service was a bit faster and I had received my bread I would rate higher. As it is I would probably give a 3.75.

I realized I only tend to write Unilocal reviews when I’m annoyed so let me say something nice. This is my favorite place to eat when I’m in town visiting family. Live the blackened mahi mahi! They can get crowded but they will do take-out.

I’ve been here twice in the last 6 months and both times the service and the food were excellent. Their menu selection is huge and their Friday fish special is very good. I’ve had their barbecued ribs(they were tender and covered with tons of sauce) and a grilled chicken breast with baked potatoes and salad. The booths are cozy and provide intimate conversation. The décor is cool considering it once was Hudson’s post office. You can’t find better wait staff than here either! Give it a try. You will be glad you did.

Helllloooooo, Wisconsin! I decided to spend my birthday dinking around Hudson, because why not? My girlfriend and I ended up at Postmark Grille for lunch and it’s a pretty cool space! It used to be an old Post Office so it’s really neat inside; I like what they’ve done with the place! Our server was super nice and down to earth upon greeting us and all the way through our meal. I started with their San«Pellegria» which is basically Grand Marnier, brandy, limoncello, and red wine; their take on a Sangria. It was really tasty but I could barely taste any booze at all so that was a bit of a bummer, oh well. The menu was MASSIVE which was actually really intimidating; we didn’t like that seeing as how we’re both super indecisive people. We ended up ordering a Bloomin’ Onion and split their Reuben with fries. The bloomin’ onion was so good! I mean, it’s everything you think it’s going to be… there are no surprises. Delicious deep fried onion petals and bloomin’ sauce that I wanted to dip anything and everything in. Probably a million calories but guess what, I don’t bloomin’ care!(Okay, that was horrible) On to the Reuben: Pretty good! Nothing amazingly different than any other Reuben but solid nevertheless. The fries: well, well, well. I am conflicted about these. I can tell they were supposed to be good! and they were! But… they tasted like fish. We deduced that they desperately needed to change their deep fryer oil. It seriously tasted like we were eating fish sticks. It was a bit disturbing especially for someone like me who doesn’t like or eat fish terribly often but it actually kind of made me want fish sticks, hahah. Anyway, they were nicely battered and had a good crisp bite I but would have liked to experience them how they were meant to taste: like potatoes. Not… fish. All in all it was pretty good; the two of us were utterly and completely full to the gills(no pun intended?) after splitting a bloomin’ onion and a reuben. I’d say go check ‘er out but don’t expect TOP quality food. Oh, on an accessibility note: the place is pretty wheelchair friendly especially seeing as how it used to be an old post office but the accessible parking is absolutely horrid. To be fair, when I called to confirm the person I spoke with warned me about it. He said the spots are on the opposite side of the building to where the accessible entrance is which is dumb and that he’s trying to get the city to get them some better spaces. What was not mentioned though was how the back parking lot was in atrocious shape… pot hole city! It was insane trying to roll her through that lot. It’s one thing to have the parking in the back totally away from the entrance… we can handle that. Just a little more exercise, no biggie. But that lot? If you’re going to make us «roll» that far to the entrance it had better be smooth(or as smooth as possible) asphalt. I feel like we needed a GPS to navigate through those chunks! Was like a meteor hit the ground! Whew. That was rough. They should really look at repaving in the summer.

Great food and service. Highly recommend the clam chowder! Right off the main drag so more of a local restaurant than a touristy one. The pork chops and Caesar salad are amazing too.

I have dined at the Postmark several times and the service has always been very good, so no complaints with the service at all. The food is generally very good, but this last visit I had the meatball sub and was disappointed. The meatballs were ok, but the sauce and sub roll were disappointing. When it comes to Italian food, I’m pretty picky since I’m a born and raised Italian from New Jersey and New York and used to homemade Italian food. So I’m not saying the food was sub-par, it just wasn’t to my liking. On the bottom of the check it asks you to rate the service by circling one of three choices. I did that, rating the service at the top choice. I also included a comment about the meatball sub being disappointing and I included my name and phone number. I have not received a call from anyone asking me why I was disappointed, which is disappointing in itself.

We had a wonderful experience. Server was personable and handled all of our questions. She even offered additional information about the town. We had appetizers, pizza, and walleye dinner. All of it was prepared well and we were thrilled overall.

My girlfriend and I were in town for a pre-honeymoon of sorts and were looking for a romantic restaurant when we stumbled on this beautiful spot. We both loved the look of the restaurant and the availability of outdoor seating. We started off with some really good bread and a nice salad. We both wished that they had provided a lot more butter but the bread itself was so tasty and there was more than enough salad. I asked for italian salad dressing and, to my surprise, it was creamy but I really liked it. My girlfriend had the cannelloni and I had the tortelloni. Both were so rich and good and we had enough to take some back to our hotel to enjoy later. Would definitely come back to this Hudson gem, perhaps after the actual wedding!

This place was so cute! We made reservations here because we had 9 people in our group. They put us in this little room off the the side so we were all by ourselves. There were some good drinks available, my favorite one had the glass rimmed in pop rocks! I got the sirloin steak, medium well and the garlic mashed potatoes. The only reason this place did not get 5 stars is because The steak came out well done and the mashed potatoes had hardly any garlic flavor in them. I’m not a steak snob, so I was fine with it, but I know others are very peticular about how their steaks are prepared. Several other people in my group got the spitini and they LOVED it. It looked very good, even though I didn’t try it. But overall, this place had good food at good prices, and I would go again if in the area.

Service was poor. Food was cooked well, but with sub-par ingredients. Salad mixed greens were iceberg lettuce with carrots and cabbage. May try again for wine and appatizers with girlfriends, but definitely not dinner again.

Ended up here after a bad experience at another Hudson eatery. Great service and food. I had the chicken wrap which was great. Wife had the salmon sandwich and she loved it. The homemade chips are phenomenal! We will be back. It was great.

We just had dinner last Friday and I found this place pretty interesting. I probably wouldn’t have guessed it was previously a post office. However, the entrance reminds me of North St. Paul post office. They probably removed a lot of the furniture and would have liked if they kept the letter holes for nostalgia. Oh well, we got the chicken quesadilla and it was loaded with green onions, black olives, etc. The best ever and it was $ 1 off appetizers until 6. For dinner, I had the fisherman’s platter and endless salad. My fiancée had the halibut on rizzoto which was a little cheesy but still good. Within walking distance to downtown, this grill is the perfect place to hang out with friends.

Service was great. Very cool building but the high ceilings amplified all of the noise. It was pretty loud and it was only about 1⁄3 full when we visited. Decent beer selection. I enjoyed the basil limeade specialty drink and it was delicious. Food was pretty average. I had the parmesan crusted mahi mahi that came with a side of lemon butter. Decent but nothing special. The sweet potato fries were better than most places. Highly recommended. Another in our group had a pasta dish that she said was good, but again, average tasting. The portion size was generous. I think that this place has a lot of potential with the atmosphere of the cool building and location but could use a monthly special menu with some more upscale menu options to set it apart from the other choices in the area.

This place was a great find! They did a fine job of preserving the old post office, creating a neat atmosphere. The menu has a wide variety of options so there is something for everyone. The food was delicious. They make all of their own salad dressings. I recommend the warm bacon vinaigrette. So yummy! The icing on the cake was the fast, friendly, attentive service.

Gave a glowing review a while back, unfortunately, I must modify. Service is AWFUL! I should not be seated and wait 10 minutes before I am even greeted. Same goes for the tables around me. But there was no shortage of high school hostesses working… SOMEONETAKEMYDAMNORDER! …or at least say hi. We were 15 seconds from walking out before a nice guy came up and offered to track down our server. It shouldn’t be that hard. No restaurant can succeed with decent service. Please step it up

Mailing this one in Not much in the way of praise Hmm…je né sais meh. The ambience saves this place from a one. They converted the old post office building in downtown Hudson into a bar and grill. Retained much of the character of the old post office. Nice patio out front. Unfortunately, it was not patio weather today. It is been open since December 2012. A block off of the main drag in Hudson. Given the slightly off the beaten location, the service and the food, I would be surprised to see this place make it very long. Service was not nearly as bad as my most recent visit to Key’s in Hudson, but it was lacking. Waitress could not multi-task. It was one table only at a time. Take their order and bring them what they want, then get around to the next table. And it was much less than crowded. Got the Brooklyn Sub, which is basically a pastrami sub. As most who read my reviews on Unilocal would know, I am more of a gourmand than a gourmet. I think the Brooklyn would disappoint both. Light on the meat and the meat that was there was pretty fatty. Dining companion also said the fish sandwich was pretty light on the fish. I would give it another shot, but I am in no rush to go back. I think it could improve if they just focused on a few things with the menu. Be a pizza place or be a sandwich place, but don’t try and be everything to everyone.
