Awesome food and great service. I had eggs with bacon and sausage and my wife had biscuits and gravy. With drinks it was only $ 15. Service was fast and friendly. We will be coming back.

On a recent vacay to the burgeoning retirement metropolis of Hudson, Florida, I noticed something: it’s cheaper to eat out for breakfast! Sure, you can say«well let’s just stop down at the Winn-Dixie and stock up on bananas and yogurt and save ourselves some money on going out for breakfast.» But really, you can’t. It’s actually CHEAPER to go out for breakfast. Every. Single. Day.(Luckily for my waistline, we were only there for a week.) Sunnyside Up is definitely a solid choice for that most important meal of the day. They have a long list of specials, and their food is darn tasty. The service is friendly, too, and the coffee is frequently refilled. I enjoyed the half order of biscuits and gravy(yes, I have a b&g weakness!), and about 27 cups of coffee. It’s also conveniently located right next to a large W-Dixie so if you’ve got shopping to do this is a great choice for breakfast. Three cheers for Sunnyside Up! Oh, and for the bathroom snobs, due to a couple of the reviews I took a gander in there and it looked A-Ok to moi.

As I was in the area with some time to kill and an empty belly, I headed inside. Decent sized place, and the waitress approached me quickly to take my order. I decided to try the Hudson Omelette, which came with sausage, mushrooms, onions and cheese. I chose home fries with onions and rye toast as my sides. My food came out about five minutes later. The Hudson Omelette was acceptable, as was the toast. The home fries were a bit dry. Decent food, quick service, and a fair price. Nothing was extraordinarily excellent, but nothing was extraordinarily bad. A-ok.

Can not believe we were inside a restaurant and across the way, a poodle. Yes that is exactly what we encountered on our visit to this establishment today,(The Sunnyside Up Café in Hudson FL). The dog came out into the open area between our tables and shook, great dog hair and dander for my breakfast experience. Upon being too disgusted to complete the frozen waffle placed in front me, I asked the waitress if it was illegal for there to be a dog inside the restaurant and her reply was that it was a service dog… bullshit…bad food, terrible lying to accommodate a dog and the service came with a side of attitude. All in all never will I visit again.

A great place for a home style breakfast. The gravy is delicious as are the potatoes. Service was friendly but a little slow. Seemed short handed

Awful. Don’t go there. Over easy eggs were hard and way overcooked, bacon was hard and cold. When I told the waitress(who turned out to be the owner) that the grits we’re thick and undercooked when she asked, she was really offended and said that was how the customers liked them. Ridiculous. And I was not being rude. I commented that I needed more butter to thin them up, she said you use butter in grits? Like I was stupid. Of course they serve butter with the grits… Lol. And the grits were not warm enough to melt the butter anyway. It was truly awful. She should have just offered to add some hot water or remake them. Instead she just walked off shaking her head and charged us for them, though neither of us ate them and they knew we were unhappy with them. I never write reviews unless it was really bad or really good. She could have been a good business person by just being nice and appreciating the feedback SHE asked for. The food was bad. The insulting behavior was worse. Mind boggling. She made sure that I, and none of my friends, will ever go there. In this competitive market there are a number of other really good breakfast restaurants nearby where the food is good and the staff are nice and professional.

Noisy, slow service, and they no longer serve the crab soup. Food was OK and prices very low. Recently changed owners.

I like this casual breakfast and lunch spot even though it’s in a strip mall. The interior is pretty cute and they have some pretty tasty sandwich, omelette and breakfast(pancake, eggs etc) specials. My omelette with spinach, feta and tomato was excellent. My friend had the turkey with swiss on rye. It was good and they accommodated our special requests for things on the side or additions no problem. The home fries were crispy. Service was attentive and helpful. The owner was there which is always a good sign. I was happy with our meal and would go back.

Seated quickly, order placed with a friendly waitress! 4 – 6 specials for breakfast, auce fish fry Friday nights. In a strip shopping center, older place but it seems clean. Food was served quickly but the wife had to send her eggs back as they weren’t over easy. Mine was just ok, just had Chipped beef and potatoes. potato’s had dark spots on some and tasted old… won’t go back again!
