We arrived and sat down quickly ordered the lunch special for 6.95 one Peking chicken and one sesame chicken. They were just okay and a little chewy lucky in flavor. The fried rice however was great cooked to perfection and made the alright chicken taste a little better.

The food here is decent. It isn’t anything amazing, but if you need Chinese this is one of the best in the area. The service here isn’t great. The lady that took my order acted like I should’ve known where everything was on the menu and how much it was. But it was my first experience there. I would ask if they had sesame chicken or orange chicken, what size and how much and she just kept pointing to the menu and would say«it’s in there.» Well, yeah. But why should I have to read through the entire menu to find that info when I’m ordering carry-out and you know the answers anyway. Not very friendly.

Visiting from a major city with many competing restaurants, I really didn’t expect much considering the limited options for dining in Hugo. Amian surprised me though. The tea came loose leaf in a pot, my first pleasant surprise… Than wonton soup which was standard and tasty… The vegetable lo mein was the clincher. Lots of vegetables, nice big portion and noodles had a good texture. Slightly too greasy for my taste but I would definitely recommend this place.

I love the drunken noodles here, they are always great. I always mean to try something else, but you can get Chinese at a lot of places around Hugo but you won’t find noodles quite like Amian. Very friendly staff. I would suggest doing takeout if you have small children, it’s a very small dining area and I brought my 1 year old son and it was a little difficult :) It’s more of a night out without the kids restaurant, but it’s not like you can’t bring the kids with.

I debated between 3 to 4 stars. The food is delicious, the wait time is ridiculous! If you go, just make sure you have the time. I wouldn’t even say calling in works — I called for the fried rice and said I’d be there in ½ hour and I still ended up waiting(and there were only 2 other customers in the restaurant). That being said, I love their fried rice — I’d recommend the house fried rice — shrimp, pork and chicken! Everyone in our group that went at a previous visit loved the food they ordered. The woman who waits on the tables is a hoot!

I live in Hugo and don’t have many Chinese food restaurants in the area. Amian seems to be a clean restaurant with OK ambiance. However the food we ordered must not be the reason others have such a high opinion of the place. The Egg Foo Yung sauce was good, but the 3 patties were too eggy and ‘Where’s the shrimp?’ — about 10 teeny shrimp — this cost $ 8.95. Not good. The Beef Lo Mein was equally disappointing — sparse on the beef, Lo Mein noodles were tasteless and no rice. Needless to say, I won’t return — it would be worth a 10-mile trip for good Chinese food, rather than go back here again.

I eat Chinese food all the time in the City, but I think if I really get a craving, I will be heading out to the sticks. This stuff is the real deal. Not dripping in sauce, not swimming in grease, and you can identify what animal the meat has come from. Now, the service isn’t great, but they are more than nice and if you’re not here for a fast meal, it’s not going to detract from your meal in any way. I also appreciated that they had decent American food as well; sometimes, Boyfriend wants Chinese and I just don’t — and their American food is pretty decent for being at a Chinese joint. We shared appetizers of calamari(not bad at all) and egg rolls(pretty good!) I had beef with peppers & black bean sauce(YUM!), Boyfriend had Kung Pao chicken(lots of peanuts!), vegetable egg foo young(the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve been around), and hot tea. Our friends had pork & peapods(glorious sauce) and General Tso’s chicken(again, great sauce and not too much). It was a pretty epic meal and I really loved every bit of it. I can’t wait to come here again.

The food is AWESOME! Especially the fried rice(any flavor), cream cheese wontons and the chow fun(wide noodle dishes). You can tell from the first bite that the meats and vegetables are super fresh, and you can hear that your meal is being made to order from the wok in the kitchen. Seriously, some of the best Chinese/Asian food I’ve ever had. I think that the portions are a rather large size so come with an appetite. I usually get two meals out of what I order. For a small, family owned business, they are doing just great. Wish I still lived in the area so I could enjoy it more often!

Ordered takeout. Inside of restaurant is an open floor plan just like eating at a fast food place. Tables only no booths. Food was not the best I have ever had. Ordered Kung Pao chicken($ 9.95) and Szechuan Beef($ 11.95)-both had more vegetables than meat:(Chicken fried rice was ok. Would not go back again. Prices were a little high in my opinion.
