Deceptively simple place with deceptively simple menu. The pineapple cornbread will make you rethink any cornbread you have ever eaten before. It’s the most delicious thing i have eaten in some time. Tuna melt and onion rings were both as tasty as those things can be and the waitress was the sweetest and very efficient.

I love this place. Its so conveinant and it has a great menu selection. Its very reasonably priced especially for the portion sizes that you get. My personal favorite is the clam strip with fries plate. The staff is always very friendly, especially the young boy which isnt typical at many places you go to.

This is the perfect summer lunch place. I came to visit Boston for work and had a checklist of places I wanted to visit that I hadn’t been to when I lived in Boston. I hadn’t been to Nantasket Beach, so I took a friend and we went to visit. The beach itself was meh(I’m from California and she’s from Hawaii) but the food at Marvel’s Lunch Box was worth the trip. Food was fresh, the service was great and it was really cheap too. Loved the bottled soda and I got a fried clam roll. My friend got a Portuguese stew which was amazing. Also, they have corn bread with real pineapple inside and it is the best cornbread I’ve ever had(that’s saying something, I lived in the South for 6 months and traversed looking for the best corn bread). If you’re in the area, «treat yo self» to a delicious meal.

Super clean and huge lobster roll portion sizes with a distinct beach feel! This place was great! The food came out quickly very fresh which was awesome because I brought my young sons with me. Clean, family friendly and I high recommend!

Marvels’ Lunch Box is a gem in Hull. We knew about Kirby’s passing and wondered if Marvels still had the BEST lobster roll in Hull. Their lobster rolls are just the way Kirby liked them — large, filled with the freshest meat, and abundant. He always seemed to get a kick out of watching people’s eyes bulge when they saw the size of the brioche roll filled to the brim with lobster. He will be missed but thankfully the restaurant is brimming with good food.

My friends and I were planning a beach trip to Nantasket. First thing I did was go on Unilocal, and look for a restaurant for us to eat at. This place had great reviews, so I decided to convince my friends to try it out. We walked in on a hot beach day around 11:20(my friend was extremely hungry, and wanted to each before we beached). The woman who served us was so down to earth, and the place was so small and adorable. I loved it! She gave us free water bottles even though it said $ 1 each on the menu. The starving friend ordered the kiddie lobster roll, which she didn’t like that much. She didn’t know the lobster was going to be cold, honestly what kind of New Englander is she? It was a pretty good size for a «kiddie» roll. My other friend and I both order a basket of clam strips, and it came with fries. It was a generous portion for only $ 10/$ 11. We both didn’t finish our baskets, and decided to take it to go. I noticed they had toys lined along the wall in baskets for kids to play with too. This place is a GEM, I would return in a heart beat. It’s way better than any place along the Quincy shore aka Clambox or Tony’s.

Not impressed at all. Food was ok. Very limited menu. I had a lobster roll which was good. I tried the fish and chips and was very oily. They offered a few fried seafood dishes but no shrimp which I thought was odd. Great location across the street from beach

We are very sadden that the owner Kirby has passed away. He loved serving the people and enjoyed there company. When ever you went to his restaurant you always left there very satisfied what ever you eat. The memories we have with him and always cannot do enough for you hopefully the new owner will continue on what Kirby tried to do. God Bless you Kirby we loved you

Just went here today with the wife(3pm). Very nice little place. Has a take out window and dining room that seats about 20. The place is located right on the beach at the end of the strip. Found it to be very clean and tidy. There were about 8 other people inside dining besides us. The menu is not extensive like a legal’s seafood nor did I expect it to be but they did have just about all the popular seaside dishes you would expect. I got the Clam Chowder bowl($ 5). We both liked it as it was nice and chunky with lots of clams. My wife got the fish and chips($ 12+/-)(Haddock). Portion was a pretty good size and my wife who skipped breakfast couldnt finish it because it was a good size(and she’s pregnant). Haddock was good fries were above average(seasoned fries). I had the Haddock sandwich($ 6)(by itself).Sandwich was good and the size was that of a whopper from BK. The young waitress was very attentive and kept up with my water intake which usually consist of about 4 – 5 tall glasses. At one point even the owner came out and asked us how our meal was.

Perfect place to grab lunch or early dinner while in Nantasket. I absolutely love this place! Can’t say enough great things… The lobster roll, lobster salad, and fish and chips were so delicious! Can’t wait to go back.

We were greeted by the sweetest people ever(Kirby and Cush). The food is cheap, plentiful and absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh and tasty. Generous portions in an iconic Oceanside seafood stand. There’s also seating inside with AC. The restaurant is clean and they take credit cards. Lots of options so you can bring your carnivore lovers here. Make sure you stop on by and enjoy their food. So worth it.

Simple, home made, great food. Best beach food you’re going to get is right there in a very unassuming store front. Lobster roll: great, not too much mayo. Fish sandwich: big and perfectly cooked. Onion rings are big and fresh… clearly nothing frozen. Besides lacking a beer or glass of wine, this place is the perfect summer beach spot. PS. Don’t come looking for healthy options PPS. Bonus: place is very clean including the bathroom

The atmosphere is absolutely adorable. You know you are at Nantasket Beach just stepping inside the door. The food is very good. They give you a bottle of water not a glass of water when you sit down and a little dish of Tootsie Rolls. This is a lunch place but it is very very good. I would come back again, best little restaurant on Nantasket Ave.

Every time I come here I stop by. The foods amazing and at a really good price. I would highly recommend to stop here if you are in hull or in the area. The Service is amazing. There is Really nice people behind the counter. Great American family food or for a regular meal. Short walk from the beach and right across the street from the first main parking lot. Definitely a great stop in the area.

For my 900th review — Damien S.’ review brought this spot onto my radar several months ago, but I’m not from the neighborhood, so I bookmarked it for the future. The future came, but we were relaxing on Nantasket beach just beyond the Nantasket Beach Resort, a bit over ½ a mile away. Fortunately a friend was still on the way, and accepted our telephoned request to please pick up some food on her way over. Marvel’s Lunch Box accepts credit cards, which was great since I figured our friend would not have enough cash on hand to pay for our order. When she arrived with two bags in hand, we took account, and discovered that the fried clams were sadly MIA. She headed right back, got the clams, an apology, and a two courtesy bowls of soups for our trouble. For herself, she got the Crab Roll $ 13.95 — Sweet lump and back fin meat, lightly dressed with mayonnaise, a touch of diced celery, and a subtle spice blend, placed on a bed of romaine lettuce, and served on a toasted brioche roll /includes coleslaw. The portion of meat was okay, and the meat fresh, but she felt the bread to meat ratio was just too high and the bun quite filling. The rest of us shared two ¼ Lb Lobster Roll $ 18.95(Made to order, select claw and knuckle meat, lightly dressed with mayonnaise, a touch of diced celery, and a subtle spice blend, placed on a bed of romaine lettuce, and served on a toasted brioche roll /includes coleslaw.), the Pint Ipswich Clams $ 17.95(Sweet small-bellied clams prepared in our house batter /includes tartar sauce and lemon.) and a large order of Onion Rings $ 5.50. I liked the onion rings because the crisp batter enclosed thick rings of onions, and the whole fried clams had a satisfying crispness as well, though they were not the best of the season for me, as that accolade went to a spot up in Maine and has yet to be dethroned. The lobster roll was too light on the lobster for the price, but the beautiful brioche roll was generously buttered and toasted quite well. Too much grease for the health conscious, but go big or go home! We enjoyed the clam chowder — both the surprise and the taste of it — and were pleased to find corn kernels amidst the clams and the potato cubes. The other soup looked like minestrone till we discovered a slice of kielbasa here and an oyster there. Good, but my preference was towards the chowder. Though we ordered 4 items, they gave us 5 cole slaws so we could each have one, and we shared the 3 tartar sauces, which was plenty for the job. They were generous with wet naps and packaged salt and pepper, and we had enough utensils. 3.5 stars, rounded up for their making amends. They are open daily, and close at 8pm.

Great local place right across from the beach. 4.5 stars! The owner, Kirby, is great and very proud of his food — and he should be. A tasty lobster roll(with just the right amount of mayo in my opinion… my dining companion wanted a little more); perfectly fried clams and a cup of very nice portuguese seafood stew made up our hearty lunch. We liked the rolls our sandwiches were served on, but them seemed a little big… the brioche to lobster and roll to oyster ratio were a little heavy on the bread.

You cannot go to Hull without swinging by and saying hey to the incredible people(and the equally incredible beach food) at Marvels’ Lunch Box. Lobster rolls, crab salad and, on this special day, homemade meatballs. And I do mean homemade — owner Kirby«borrowed» a family recipe, whipped up the rounds in his home kitchen and brought them to temperature in his wee little beachside space. And for the low, low price of $ 10, I’m fairly sure you get served every meatball he has left on a massive loaf of fresh baked bread, with a bottle of soda, chips and a shovel of saltwater taffy. To say the portions are large would be irresponsible, and unfair to the competitive eater who walks in unprepared. Intense. You can have a bite of my exquisite lobster roll when you pry it from my cold, dead hands. Which will be never, Highlander. I am teh immortalz. You can, however, sneak a green and yellow taffy, but only because I don’t know what flavor it’s supposed to be. Answer my prayers, Taffy Gods! Back to Kirby, he belongs in the Business Owner Hall of Fame. One of the most genuine, caring and customer-focused folks in the game, and he snaps on helluva mug behind a biplane cutout. Confused? Grab lunch here. You’ll understand.

went here for lunch last weekend. I waited 40 minutes to get a veggie burger, fish sandwhich and clam roll with my group of friends. We had one vegan with us. After waiting 40 minutes to get our food the place gave it to us on the house. They were very kind and said that because we waited so long that they would not charge us at all. The reason I am giving them one star is that when we walked away, we found out that we got two clam rolls and a fish sandwhich. Our vegan friend who had waited 40 minutes and had nothing to eat had to go off to another place in search of another food option. After posting this message the owner messaged me to apologize and tried to explain how this usually not the case. I appreciate him taking the effort in doing this.

The service was great. The clam chowder was ok — lots of clams — but the flavor was so-so. Also, I didn’t understand the carrots! I ordered a lobster roll and it came with pickels, cole slaw and Wachusett potato chips. The sides were great. Someone else ordered a side of french fries and those were good too! The lobster roll had plenty of meat, and then the waitress comes out with a portion of extra lobster claiming they had extra. Um, ok! Completely unheard of! Thank you! I don’t go to Hull often, but I would go again.
