Very disappointed. Came here today on my own and was told by one waitress I could sit anywhere. I chose a table and was kept waiting with no menu. Another waitress finally came by and asked me to «move to a 1 top» because«we’re gonna get busy soon». It was 4:30 pm on a Thursday… seriously? Very rude, there were hardly any patrons, and I saw three of the hostess/waitstaff making catty conversation. The attitude of the staff was completely immature and rude. I left.

No LOBSTER on a Monday at 530pm? And it wasn’t busy?!? Service was incredibly s… l…o…w! The staff was too interested in checking their text messages. Not worth it folks.

Took about an hour to get food, and the first beer they brought me was only half filled I ordered the lobster panini, they obviously don’t own a panini press it was just on toasted bread didn’t get a reason or an apology for our food taking so long. I also could have done with out the guy ad-libbing jimmy buffet songs, should have checked Unilocal before coming here we wouldn’t have even bothered who ever runs this establishment really needs to reassess his business model cause it is horrid. pull it together red parrot.

My husband and I used to come to The Red Parrot often after a day at the beach. We just went back twice this year and had ABSOLUTELYTERRIBLE experiences. They have some sort of issue with their kitchen staff because the kitchen gets crazy backed up even when the restaurant isn’t busy. It was 7PM on a Friday night and the place was clearing out because of the long wait. I felt bad for the wait staff, it wasn’t their fault. Oh and they were only serving from this new random Middle Eastern menu. I wish I could since it’s a great location, but I would NOT recommend The Red Parrot, unfortunately.

Fathers Day lunch with my wife and boys. Arrived and seated on top deck. Nice view but that’s really the only thing that went right. Kitchen was extremely backed up, waitress apologized up and down but this wasn’t her fault. Think they would be better readied for a gorgeous Sunday on the beach, not to mention Father’s Day. We ordered an order of nachos for the table that came out with almost no cheese on them. More or less chips drizzled with sour cream and jalapenos. Didn’t bother complaining. Then we ordered our lunches. We waited over an hour for the food to come despite frequent apologies from our waitress who I feel generally felt bad. I ordered a chicken Caesar wrap and I took one bite then opened it up to find the one piece of chicken in the front was all their was in the half of sandwich, just lettuce and dressing. I returned it and they took it off the bill but refused to order something else due to the unreasonable wait. I ended up sharing my son’s and wife’s meal instead. Waitress was polite and felt bad and I still tipped her well as it wasn’t her fault although if I do ever return it will be for a drink on the roof top. Location is the only thing they got going.

Went yesterday been there several times never been sooo disappointed. We waited over 90 minutes for a cup of chowder and a lobster casserole overdone lobster meat $ 70 meal waste of my time and money. Still gave the waitress 20% not her fault. «The kitchen is backed up. Really it’s a Saturday night there is a carnival, fireworks, beautiful night and understaffed cut the crap will yah. Calling on Monday I’m that pissed. I should of paid truly it was gross

good place for drinks and music, me and my husband sat at «the naked oystah bar» Saturday night, our food took over an hour i understand they were busy but when it did arrive my sandwich had little to no chicken was hardly toasted and my fries were cold and mushy, not what you would expect after waiting an hour, if it weren’t for the music, the frozen drinks(Nantasket lemonade — delicious!)and the bartender i would have left after 20 min, the young girl seemed to be taking care of every single guest yet never seemed overwhelmed or too busy for us, she was great.

Can’t say anything good about the food. They were out of lobster by 5:45 p.m., so no twin lobster special, despite the sign outside advertising that. The lobster roll I ordered instead was horrible – bits of shredded lobster meat, not chunks, and bland, bland, bland. Despite the great location across the street from Nantasket Beach, I’d never come back.

Despite a chalk sign advertising a lobster specials, they were out of lobsters.(Even after the meal, the sign hadn’t been taken down.) The clams were tiny, the fish n’chips were a bland lump of cod, and the lobster roll was similarly bland.

Service was terrible. The bar wasn’t very busy but we waited over 10 minutes for the bar tender to take our order and over 10 minutes with empty glasses for our second round. In addition to the poor service, there was a bottle of DayQuil sitting out in the open behind the bar which made us real excited about the potential of catching a cold from the bar tender. When we asked for a menu(before we noticed the DayQuil) we were informed that it was too busy to order food at the lower level. Not a single positive thing to say about the experience.

Went there last night ordered 3 simple meals and it took over an hour and 20 minutes they didn’t have enough staff at all and apparently there’s only one kitchen for that whole place unless you just want to get drinks and look at the water stay away from this place

Had the worst service experience there. Sat at the bar. There was one woman tending bar. She was seated at the bar, not behind it. Rudely asked me what I wanted but didn’t actually get up to serve me. She sat there for another 5 minutes or so and then got me a beer and menu. I ordered some food. After about 20 minutes my beer was finished. She was too busy to notice. Although there were about 3 people in the bar. Waited another 20 minutes and no food. I had ordered a chicken BLT, and there were only a few people in the restaurant. I eventually just left, I assume she never put in the order. I see a few other similar reviews of poor service. I can add my observations to the others.

Horrible service and food. It’s like not one even cares that you’re there. I’ve been countless times only for its location to Nantasket Beach and each time it’s the same horrific service. This place could be a gold mine if the owners cared more about how it’s being run!

I really want to love this place, but Red Parrot makes it so hard to. The first time we came here was in the late fall. We ordered lobster bisque, a lobster roll, calamari, and stuffed shrimp. The food was EXCELLENT. The lobster bisque was the best we’ve ever had. It was thick and creamy and had huge chunks of lobster. We had pretty low expectations of the place, but food blew us away. HOWEVER, it took the kitchen 45 minutes to bring us anything. Our waitress was very nice and kept checking on us and apologizing. The restaurant wasn’t even particulary busy and our food took forever. We eventually came for a second visit given that our food the first time around was good when we got it. Unfortunately, our 2nd visit turned out to be horrible. We got there around 12:30pm, and were told after we sat down and ordered that the kitchen would be closing at 1pm, but since we put in our order already, it shouldn’t be a problem. Turns out that the restaurant was holding a huge event — a motorcycle rally in honor of the police officer who was shot in the face in the line of duty. I would estimate close to 75 people came to Red Parrot that day for the event. And understandably you can only accomodate so many people without allowing quality to suffer. However, they knew this in advance and really shouldn’t have been open for the public if they were doing such a huge event. I’d call that a really really poor management call. Once again, our food took about an hour to come out to us, which my boyfriend and i really couldn’t understand why. We ordered our beloved lobster bisque and a lobster roll. These dishes aren’t usually made on demand, but rather made in bulk. The 2nd experience really just x’ed Red Parrot off of our list. If you’re at the beach and wanting something to eat, just make sure you have a lot of time to spare and aren’t terribly hungry.

Tonight was my first and LAST experience at the Red Parrot. I have always driven by the Red Parrot and thought the rooftop seating over Nantasket Beach looked like a great spot to eat on a summer night. Boy, was I wrong. Our waitress was very sweet. However, service was soooo slow. Parts of the rooftop deck were coming up, not very safe. The plastic chairs you sit in were filthy. The table was not very sturdy. The rooftop was overcrowded with tables and chairs people could barely squeeze through to get to their seats and you could see the waitresses struggling to serve meals. A bucket filled with napkins, plastic silverware, ketchup, etc stood in the middle of each table… these were filthy looking too. The waitresses shorts barely covering their asses!!! I had a classic cheeseburger… Wendy’s serves a better burger than the Red Parrot. My daughter’s clam chowder I thought tasted cold. I watched the table next to us send back cold chicken nachos. Do not waste your time or money on this place. It is absolutely disgusting.

I live in Alaska, and come to Massachusetts about once a year to visit my family. One of my top priorities(besides visiting my mom, brothers, sister’s-in-law and nieces and nephews) when I’m in Mass. is to get LOBSTAH! For the past 20+ years, the Red Parrot has been our ‘go to’ for Sunday brunch and LOBSTAH, because of the service, the beautiful view of Nantasket and, yes, LOBSTAH! But it was not the case today. Since we have been able to check menus online, Red Parrot did not have lobster on their menu, but when you called, they ALWAYS had a single or twin steamed or baked lobster as a special. However, my brothers had heard that the food had gone downhill since we were last there in 2013. Today, on day 11 of my 13 day visit, my mom and I finally got to have our lobster date. We were furniture shopping for her down in Stoughton and Avon, and considered some other places between Avon and Weymouth who did not have lobster on their online menus. After calling a few that Mom felt sure had lobster(to no avail), I went to the Red Parrot website, and lo and behold, Single or Twin lobster dinners are now on their regular menu. Despite my brothers’ warnings, I figured, «How can you screw up lobster(unless you boil it to death rather than steam it), and Red Parrot has always had a great lobster dinner. The prices listed on their online menu were more than reasonable. So, Mom and I headed to the Red Parrot, me drooling for my annual LOBSTAH! By the way, a Hull native recommended Jake’s,(did not even mention Red Parrot) but noted that Jake’s can be expensive. I had checked their online menu, and they didn’t have lobster on their menu either. We arrived at Red Parrot around 7pm, and got a very close parking spot, despite the crowded roof top bar and lower bar area. However, anticipation took a nose dive from here on out: —(minus) 2 Two guys were smoking, leaning on the base of the only stairs to the entrance, and could not be bothered to move out of the way so that my 87 year old mother could use the handrail(they were too close to the building to be smoking according to the laws, and employees were allowing them to stay where they were). + 1 We were pleasantly greeted by a young lady, professionally dressed for the hot weather in colorful bubble shorts and a sleeveless blouse. — 2 The hostess was the ONLY staff person we saw walking around with shorts that were longer than the tiny ones that barely cover the tush. All the other waitresses were sporting super mini shorts. NOTE: I am not a prude. I dressed like that when I was their age and had the body to pull it off, but NOT to WORK!!!(If I was a lifeguard, yes, but not as a server in a restaurant that is not called Hooters or Tilted Kilt). — 3(although we didn’t realize it yet) Our waitress gave us a mediocre greeting, sporting super short, barely cover the tush running shorts, and a T-shirt that said, «Got Lobster?» + 2 Mom and I each ordered a Pinot Grigio, which came out promptly, and the waitress asked if we were ready to order. — 6(yes, I skipped a bunch of minuses) We both ordered the twin lobster dinner. «Oh, let me check, I’m not sure we have lobster today.» What!!! «Got Lobster?» Yeah, I guess her T-shirt should have been a warning. Mom: «If they don’t have lobster, we’re leaving!» Sure enough, no lobster… BYE! Called Jake’s from the parking lot: «Of course we have lobster! Steamed, stuffed, rolls, however you want it! We went to Jake’s… Read my 5 star review on Jake’s Unilocal page.

We came to Hull for our 1 year anniversary and stopped here for an app. We sat upstairs because the view is so beautiful. We had the stuffed mushrooms with lobster sauce and it was to die for, it was like having lobster bisque with crab stuffed mushrooms. We had the best waitress her name is Casey she is so nice and personable. I would totally recommend the Red Parrot.

We had a sub-par experience here. Food was not as good as I would have liked it to be. Placed an order for a chicken Cesar wrap and it tasted like the chicken was days old and dry. Upon further inspection of the inside of the wrap the chicken was indeed old. As for the atmosphere it is a cool little beach style restaurant with a couple of floors. There are bars on each floor but the bottom floor has live music which is cool. Service was a little slow and it wasn’t a busy time of the day when we went. Overall this was a one and done experience for us.
