Cost Cutters

The ladies here were nice but their skill set for cutting little boys’ hair has much to be desired. Both of my boys had their hair cut by two different people. Both of the boys got their WORST haircut they have ever received. The hair on the tip of their heads was longer than their bangs. The sides were asymmetrical. It’s as if these women are earning their very first hours of experience in cutting boys’ hair. I would have done better to just cut the hair myself. Cost Cutters should probably sell kids’ hats there to hide the major fail of their work.

If ever there was a business establishment in the Humble, TX where race was least likely to matter, you’d think it would be a hair salon. Among die-​hard fans, the color you place on their head tends to trump the color of your skin. Not the case with this salon. I have always taking these things with a grain of salt. But i’m not happy to work with out pay or be passed over for race. After posting this I will find a lawyer who can help with both but I will not have others go through what I have. If you are African-​American you should boycott and if you believe in equal rights you should boycott as well. Not going to lie. Work here for less then a day, never got paid. I was told by the owner how bad they needed people and how she was happy she found me, was told by the manger over the phone how she was happy to get someone older who knew how to do hair. Met her in person and got the big «OH NO» face. Told two days later by the manger that she went with some one younger who she could teach. I should sue this place if not for race then age discrimination but I’m not 40. It’s sad and could just be a coincidence but I think not. Don’t go here if your black let them have it.
Update: Only after making this post did I get a call from the manger telling me she had a check, for the day I worked and how they do employ African-​Americans my guess is they will be hiring one before this goes too far, good luck with that, but I’m feed up with this mess in 2016 and the fact that it still happens is crazy. I want it to stop. I love people and I love what I do I’m very quite and say little but I’m just had it.

I just went there today and the stylist I used was very courteous and professional. The salon was very clean and inviting. I will be back.

Sheena did an amazing job with my pixie! I teach her son and came in because my hair was over grown and she did exactly what I wanted! It’s beautiful! Then my boyfriend who is extremely self conscious about his hair (no haircuts for 2 years, been cutting it himself) went in to see her and he LOVES his cut! So impressed and amazing prices!

Denise always cuts my hair and does a wonderful job. I get my salon cut without the 130 I used to drop at J. Thompson. I love the family friendly atmosphere and wonderful employees.

I went to this salon after being referred by a regular. I had a very disappointing first visit as I showed the stylist what I wanted with my color and left the salon with very different results. I figured oh well, I would just deal with it. A couple days later I got a phone call from a different stylist who had seen my results and knew I didn’t get what I wanted. She talked me into coming back, free of charge to get it fixed. I was even able to bring my 2 small children with me as it was last minute and I didn’t have a sitter available. The ladies that worked that day were incredibly friendly and helpful! My boys absolutely fell in love with them and keep asking to go back again! I met the owner of the shop and she is very sweet and friendly and is always teaching the ladies there how to use new techniques. They have very reasonable prices and run specials on different days of the week. I will not be going anywhere else!

Love love love everything about this salon! Friendly and fun stylists and positive energy! Always learning and listen to the needs of the clients!
