Hin’s is now one of our go-to take out restaurants. A few months ago, I was looking for something lighter than General Tsao’s but along the same lines of flavor. Hin’s recommended that I try General Tsao’s «not fried»(i.e., sautéed), and I loved it so much, I have ordered it at least weekly since. So glad to have been offered this suggestion. Highly recommend!

I LOVE their food! It is always my first choice for Chinese food. I wish I could eat it everyday.

Awful! Don’t waste your money or time. I ordered 3 items at 4:30 for delivery from the menu, cost was over $ 25. Only one of the three items were edible. My first time ordering from restaurant. The food was delivered in 40 minutes. I ordered the 1. Large wonton soup, not cooked completely very doughy and thick– unable to eat! 2. Vietnamese egg rolls– bite into tasteless, undercooked, soggy and soaked in grease lump– unable to eat! 3. Vietnamese fajitas– the beef was tasty, the raw cucumbers and carrots on the side were wilted. I contacted the restaurant and they said my descriptions were impossible. I explained it was inedible as clearly as I could. He asked me to bring the food back– kinda dumbfounded by this one. I reminded him I had it delivered. He said he would send his driver and«his» food should not be half way eaten and expect something. It was all so strange. I don’t think he was listening. Driver did not show. Hin’s took my $ for uncooked and inedible food. Wow!

well i went to Hins today for to go dinner orange chicken and fried rice. Granted today is the miserable Superbowl, the place was empty and my order was filled in about 3 minutes. after unpacking, I found the portions to be good enough for two meals. The flavor, well I must of left it at the restaurant, Fried rice, yes it was brown, yes it was rice, but that was the extent of it, bland boring and dry. The chicken was drowned in sauce and soggy, with something that was supposed to be orange skin. Not very appealing. 16 dollars gone. That’s what I get for going for convenience.

We placed an order for take out and even though we didn’t start eating for almost 30 minutes after getting the food, everything was still really hot. The lunch specials are a pretty good deal, averaging $ 7 to $ 8 and including brown rice, a soup and a spring roll. The spring roll only had cabbage in it, which was disappointing, but everything else was spot on. The gauge of a good Chinese restaurant is their kung pao and this was exactly as it should be. Not too sweet, and had the right amount of peppers, onions and peanuts in the dish. The chicken is all white meat and extremely juicy. The Szechuan shrimp could have been a tad spicier but I just bit into the pepper whole in order to jumpstart the spice! It came with a good amount of veggies too. The favorite was the General Tso’s chicken which I haven’t had in years. For the chicken to still be hot and crispy even after waiting awhile to dig in, speaks volumes. If I lived here I would be doing take out at least once a week!

We order from this restaurant frequently for home and work and the food is always great! However tonight I ordered dinner for my kiddos as I was running late at work. I ordered the usual and my order was about 53.00. 30 min later my daughter calls and says they won’t leave the food because the credit card I paid with was not present. They have never asked for this before, nor was it mentioned upon my order tonight. I spoke to the man in the phone, he said the same thing and said he was taking the food back. So I called the restaurant to see what the problem is, and they tell me this has always been their policy. When I said I had never been asked before I was called a lier. I spoke to 2 different people on the phone and got the run arround. Not even a sorry we did not tell you during your order. Now 30 min has past, dinner is still not there. So I leave work, I go up there and when I walk in the lady who normally delivers to my place of business greets me with a smile. I explain what happend to her and she tells me «no, I don’t ask to see your credit card, you paid over the phone. You order all the time, very good customer!» Then I’m told by the first person I spoke to on the phone that«it’s Americans like me always causing trouble.» I took my food and left them arguing there, they didn’t even ask to see my card when I came in. But let me be clear, I do not have a issue with their policy. Just that it was stated to me and was never implemented in my prior orders. The food is good, I do recommend still trying them out but perhaps dinning in or be sure to have your card handy when doing a delivery even if they haven’t asked you to do so.

The food is always great and service is very personable and welcoming. Husband loves the general tso chicken. I usually get the orange chicken or chicken with veges. Lunch is the best time to eat here because the lunch combos are very good and affordable.

Negative star that is !!! Worst food I’ve had in I can’t remember how long ! We ordered three items — the chicken let ace wraps had strong taste if soap! yep –SOAP dishwashing soap taste so strong couldn’t eat ! The oily brown sauce in the Kung pap chicken was«burnt» ! Yes burnt oil taste for that dish. The other dish the got wrong & argued about it. Crazily enough, they seemed as if none of that was odd. Good luck !

My wife and I have been here several times now. The services is great and the food has always been really good. We keep coming back. Love the little orange wedge at the end of the meal to refresh my mouth.

Had the General Tso chicken. It was excellent. Wish they would use smaller pieces of chicken. There is jalapeños in it.

It’s OK, but not good. Kung Pao anything was great, however, most else was bland. I recommend Oriental Gardens, Mencius, or Hunan Gardens over this average Chinese Restaurant in Kingwood.

We ordered take out from Hin’s tonight for the first time. We frequent another Chinese restaurant in Kingwood but lately, the quality has declined so we ended up here. I’m giving it a solid three — some items would rate higher, some lower. This is the average of it all. Crab Rangoons — Eh. Best I can say. There was a lot of wonton and little filling, which can be okay, except the wonton was not cooked well. Some parts seemed to be doughy. Dumplings — my daughter said they were good. Fried rice — both plain and pork: I was surprised to see that the plain fried rice was just that — fried rice. No eggs, no vegetables… Rice. Blah. The pork rice had some eggs at least and some green onions, but that’s it. But, the flavor was definitely good. General Tsos chicken — Pro: the flavor is really good and they are good chunks of white meat without a ton of fat. Con: I asked for medium spicy. It was very underwhelming. The description said it was sautéed with red peppers and jalapeños so I was expecting some with the meat. Nope. I will order from them again, but now I know I have to ask for veggie fried rice and Veges in the meat if I want it.

Had the sesame chicken and fried rice along with chicken corn soup. The sesame chicken was lightly battered compared to others in the area. Good option if you don’t want to drive up to Mencius in the Kingwood area.

I got a carry out sweet & sour chicken, egg roll, wonton soup & combination fried rice. It was horrible!!! The combo rice had imitation crab, over cooked shrimp. Yuck! I must say the only thing I enjoy was beef in the rice. Part of rice was still white. The sweet & sour chicken was typical American it was ok. The egg roll was all cabbage! The soup had 1 wonton which tasted like pure dough. Not happy with this place at all! I’ll never return. Wasted my $$$$$$$,

This restaurant is close to my house and serves Chinese and Vietnamese food. I usually get the Vietnamese Soft Spring Rolls. They are pretty good. And I get the Bun Shrimp which is a little weird. The«vermicelli» is spaghetti, I do believe. And they serve it warm with a sauce over it. In real Vietnamese restaurants it comes with real vermicelli which is cold, and I pour the cold fish sauce over it. The only warm thing is the shrimp. So I figure, this is Kingwood and I won’t criticize. However, tonight I got the Stuffed Pork Steamed Dumplings(8 for $ 5.95). They were inedible! The dough was thick and not cooked properly. They were gummy. The pork stuffing was pink making me think it wasn’t cooked. I threw threw them out. I think I am done with Hin’s Garden.

Very poor service. Waitress did not speak English well. Gal pouring water did not speak English at all. Ordered fried rice and got regular rice mixed with soy sauce. They were dumbfounded. No chop sticks when asked and food was cold but Broccoli was very hot. Too many good places to waste $ 50 for two and no drinks. Silverware looked like school cafeteria junk. This is what gives Chinese food a bad rap. Why does food here come out in 3 minutes but is still cold? After this mess we went to Pei Wei and had a better meal

Seems everyone in this neighborhood has a favorite, this is ours. Always busy(they seem to do a much bigger carry out and delivery business than dining in. We probably order delivery once a week). Try the specialties. Salmon with Hot Oil is a wonderful blend of ginger, garlic brown sauce and scallions, Basil Delight is amazing– Shrimp, Chicken Breast, Beef with a white sauce with Fresh Basil and onions, and jalapeños. We like spicy food, and don’t think it’s too spicy. Chicken Lettuce Wraps rock, Vietnamese Egg Rolls are truly craveworthy. Hot and Sour Soup a standout. My daughters cannot get enough of their House Special Fried rice.(On Saturday mornings, TEENAGERS try to see which one can get out of bed earliest to get to the leftovers from the night before)… Their lunch specials are a bargain, and a HUGE amount of food, so if you need lunch brought in for a meeting, it’s a good bet. Excellent service.

Hub and I tooled in today to try something new. We were intrigued by the idea of this place serving Vietnamese food as well as Chinese. Unfortunately, our experience was not quite up to expectations. We had the Vietnamese egg rolls which somehow managed to have no flavor. They were more of a texture. The lettuce they were served with was completely limp, like it had been sitting near the stove. The main dishes were pretty good. The Basil Special(beef, chicken, shrimp) was pretty good. It had nice heat from the jalapenos. The best thing we had was the«Vietnamese Fajitas» which was nicely done and served with crispier lettuce, sprouts, carrots, and radish. They also give you the rice paper and a bowl of water so you can make your own wrappers as you go. That was actually the high point of the meal. Sadly enough, it could have really been delicious if I could have had a squeeze of lime, but they didn’t have any. Sigh. The people working here were very nice and seemed to know many of the people eating there. The service was never lacking. The interior of the restaurant was a little old and tired looking. The place could use a spruce up. Overall, I will not be dreaming of the food here, but if someone suggested we come here, I would not resist.
