Came with several co-workers who raved about this place. I got the General Tsos Chicken lunch social for $ 7. It came with fried rice, wonton soup, and an egg roll. It was huge portions and was very good. The service was fast, the restaurant was dated, but very clean. Although it did not gross me out, I think a remodel would make the atmosphere better. Minor panting and new carpet would make the environment feel better. All in all the food was good enough that I would come back and recommend trying it.

I was a little hesitant about coming here after seeing its Unilocal rating, but it was written up in the Chronicle years ago for being one of the best chinese restaurants in Houston. The atmosphere when walking in is very cold, as well as the air temperature. The dining room almost echoes and has very worn carpet. The lunch menu consists of 15 dishes, 13 are chinese and 2 are american, chicken fried steak and fried shrimp platter. I ordered the Mongolia beef(spicy) and an iced tea. This came out to around $ 9. Mongolia beef — they spell it like the region in China here, without the«n». It was actually pretty good with large chunks of onions and bell peppers. It was smothered in a dark sauce which was salty. Not spicy though. The beef was delicious and very tender. The fried rice was very dark, like dirty rice, and obviously contained a lot of soy sauce. It was pretty salty as well. I’d order it again, but with steamed rice. Corn soup — I’m not a fan of corn, so I only took a couple of spoonfuls. Egg roll — this was very good, even though a bit over fried. The 2 guys at the table next to me ordered 4 of their large eggrolls, I guess they are really popular here.

This is just a great, old school Chinese restaurant. Family style service, great egg rolls, and the Sweet and Sour Chicken is almost as good as the General Tso’s. The Wonton Soup is also outstanding. The only thing I have had here that was not amazing was the pineapple chicken. Not bad just not great. Remember that the soft drinks comes in cans so if you drink a lot order the iced tea.

Horrible service, food was poor quality. The waitress didn’t even wait for us to leave until she counted her tip.

Great wonton soup and good eggrolls. Just wish they would cut back on the cabbage a bit. Good prices and good service.

Place is definitely stuck in time and the ambiance is wood paneling but the food is awesome!

Food was ok… service was ok… there was nothing spectacular about., however I can say we will not be going back again. The waitresses throwing the dirty dishes in the buckets… ridiculous!!! So much noise & distraction & when you have a 2 month trying to sleep & the crashing of dishes wakes him up out of a sound sleep & scares him to the point of crying… Nope, I’m out!!!

We have been here several times and different times of the day and the food is inconsistent. Sometimes it’s really good and others it’s just ok. Their cream cheese rangoons are my favorite. The sweet and sour chicken and red ribs are also up there. The portions are very good size. Restaurant needs a facelift with the paint peeling off of the walls and very little decoration.

Been coming here for years. Love the food. I usually get either the chicken chow mein or chicken lo mein. Lunch time is best! Meal comes worth soup and egg roll. I always order the big eh rolls though. They are really good.

This place is horrible! The menus were sticky and I watched the waitress bus a table using the water from a cup the previous patron was drinking from! The service was horrible, the waitress was rushing and speaking very quickly. I ordered the Shrimp Kew and the best thing about the dish were the water chestnuts. The brown sauce was too salty and the fried shrimp were drowned in it. After taking bits from my meal I now feel sick to the stomach. My companion ordered the chicken fried rice and the chicken was entirely too dark and gummy to be actual chicken. We will never be back here and you should save your money and never go here.

We have been coming here since they opened in the late 70s. The wonton soup is good. The egg rolls you order are very good with pork and pieces of shrimp. I have never had the small egg rolls that come with the lunch special. The BBQ pork slices are amazing! They are NOTHANDICAPACCESSIBLE! It makes me mad that when my dad, who loves this place, is with us we can’t come here since his stroke. They have not remodeled since they opened and I think that’s so they don’t have to make everything accessible.

Went there a few days ago with my family to dine in. Ive been coming here for over 10 years and ive never seen it decline this bad. The wait staff was just awful. This older sour lady was our waitress and she was so rude to us. Slamming our plates hard enough on the table that the over sauced lo mein went everywhere and she could care less. The décor is completely falling appart, paint peeling off the walls, filthy looking kitchen, filthy dinning area. I would say the eggs rolls are amazing but due to the lack of caring from the staff im afraid to eat anything there. The health inspection needs to make a suprise stop. Dont waist your money its not as good as it use to be. Never returning again. Shame too.

Our favorite Chinese restaurant. We have been eating there over 25 years. Love the huge egg rolls. Every thing is great on the menu. The meals are big enough for two. Friendly staff.

Worst Chinese Food Ever!!! I had the wonton soup and the crab puffs which were actually very good but other than that, I had the House Lo-Mein, the Mongolian Beef, and the Chicken Fried Rice which all let me down beyond belief. the Lo-Mein was incredibly bland and drowned in some type of gravy sauce. the Mongolian Beef and the Chicken Fried Rice were also bland. The Mongolian Beef was also drowned in sauce. I almost lost my appetite when I saw my food. I had to doctor it all up with salt and pepper just to make some type of flavor.

Awful place! I went there when I was a kid and it was great, but now it’s not. The décor hasn’t changed in 20+ years and it just looks bad. We decided to try the food and that was a bad decision. I started puking while still there then more at home. My Mom had to stop on the side of the road to puke. Also, the food wasn’t great so we didn’t even eat a lot. I really worry about the cleanliness of that place. Save yourself by not eating there!

Not sure how this place stays open. We were severed some of the worst Chinese food that we ever had but to make things worse the prices on their food is set to meet the average price for good Chinese food. On top of that I could tell the waitress really didn’t want to be there so the service and overall experience was a reflection of that. Never will return.

I really only come here for the Egg Rolls. They’re easily my favorite in the Humble/Kingwood/Atascocita area. To be honest I haven’t been impressed with much else. The BBQ Pork appetizer was pretty tasty though. The décor hasn’t changed since I was a kid!

I’ve had Chinese food all over the world. I’ve eaten Chinese food in Israel, Chile, Guatemala and Congo. I have never had worse Chinese than I had here. My first clue should have been when I ordered a Diet Coke and they brought me a can. Most places let you choose hot n sour soup or egg drop soup… not here. You get egg drop. The egg roll was decent, the Beef and brocolli was awful. The brocolli was way over cooked and instead of a brown sauce, everything was covered with a thick gravy like sauce that had no flavor. Even the fortune cookie sucked. Will never go back there ever.

Haven’t been here in a long time. Now I remember why. We ordered Mongolian Beef and General Tso’s Chicken both were suppose to come spicy. It was not spicy at all. The beef has a good smokey flavor but was over powered by the saltiness. The chicken didn’t have the normal heavy breaking which was ok but it was swimming is sauce. It was like drinking the sauce with a little bit of chicken. The place is very old and could use an update. While waiting on our food I notice the host knew almost everyone that walked in except me. A lot of older locals come here maybe that’s why it wasn’t spicy. Don’t think I’ll return unless What-a-burger is closed. The soup was the only thing I liked.
