One of the better ice cream franchises. Ice cream always yummy. Not much inside seating space, but there are tables outside too. Good destination for a bike ride.

Oh, Marble Slab, I miss you. I live in a part of the country where my only option is Coldstone, and I miss Marble Slab. Some might not notice much of a difference between the two places, but I’ve always appreciated Marble Slab more. The flavor choices and now the apparently unlimited toppings have always been superior in my opinion. This particular location seems to have undergone quite the transformation since I used to occasionally go here years ago back when I was in high school. It’s a nice little place with a few tables inside and a bunch of tables outside that are shared with the Starbucks next door. You can hang out with all the local young ‘uns who are hanging out in the go to location for just sitting around and talking in Kingwood. The ice cream is delicious. Every flavor I’ve had here is good, and I’ll keep coming back for more whenever I’m around. There may be some better small ice cream spots out there, but as far as franchises go, Marble Slab is the one for me.

A pretty standard Marble Slab franchise. It’s on the narrow side with only about 4 little two-seat tables along the one blank wall. The oddest thing was even though we went at around 8 o’ clock at night, the place was really dim inside. The overhead lights seemed to be on half-power and the two door glass freezer displaying the ice cream cakes was dark inside. It just didn’t seem very cheery, like, «hello! Welcome to a wonderful delicious ice cream treat!» If I was 5, I’d probably feel funny about the lack of the bright lights and colors, but not be able to articulate it. The high school aged girl behind the counter was polite and served us well. But I guess I should have tasted my flavor choice ahead of time because my Cappucino ice cream was most definitely Cinnamon. I watched her scoop the tan colored cream from the bin marked«Cappucino», but that t’was not the taste I tasted in my mouth. I don’t know if the similarly hued ice creams got switched or what, but that was a mistake. The prices are pretty high– $ 5 for a small. I think unless I’m with a friend who just really wants Marble Slab, I’ll probably get some fro-yo instead.
