Outback Steakhouse

Worse and worse with each visit. My hubby loves the baby back ribs, which is the only reason I’ll come here. I’ve gotten food poisoning from here so I normally try to stay away when I can. My last 2 visits, I’ve ordered a chicken entrée. Both times, the chicken has tasted like rubber. Convincing the husband to never come here again.

It was around lunch time when we came and it was not packed. The server was friendly and attentive. My mom got a steak with baked potato, broccoli, and grilled shrimp. She enjoyed it all except the shrimp. I tasted them and they were salty, greasy, and garlicky. I asked the server if I could order a loaded baked potato with some chopped meat on top. He believed so but had to check. I had to explain what I wanted to another guy. After he went in the back the waiter came back to let me know it was do-​able. I was so glad they worked with me to understand my order and allow me to place it. I really enjoyed it. The meat was flavorful, well done but not overcooked. The potato was medium sized with a small but sufficient amount of butter, cheese, chives, and sour cream. The bread was hot and slightly crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. The bathroom was clean. The waiter was nice. The food was good.

The food is generally really good, unless you order steak, then be prepared to have it cooked incorrectly. The last few times they have really messed up with the cooking temperature. But that aside, the food is pretty good and my family enjoys eating here because there is something for everyone. The reason for my rating is the horrible service. I think you can luck out and get a good server but we haven’t yet. Our server today was inattentive and pretty much ignored us the whole time. Other servers waited on us way more than our actual server did. We would come here more often if the service improved.

We came here tonight because we had a gift card. Looked up reviews and were kind of worried because it was only 2.5 stars. I don’t see why this place has this rating though. The place was clean, the drinks were good, the bathrooms were clean and smelled nice, food came out in a decent amount of time and was also very good. Waiter was knowledgable and kind. Prices were expected. Would come back.

Old location but service good. Need bigger location always crowded. But service is always consistent. Love the food.

Had a few experiences with this location. The take out employees are ok. I won’t be able to forget when I placed an order specifically for their Aussie Cheese Fries. They completely effed up the order and simply gave us fries with cheese instead of the Aussie Cheese Fries on the menu.
Unfortunately I purchased take out and didn’t realize it until we got home. Our dinner was ruined from this experience.
It’s a little frustrating, when employees don’t even know their own menu items when they deal with the food all day.

We no longer even order steaks any more. They consistently come out wrong. The owner does not even care. And the manager expects to make another one, or comp the steak. Its not possible to make another steak with three kids, that are done eating. Just make the steak right the first time. It is a steakhouse. My meal is ruined, my families meal is ruined, So I will not return to this miserable place. You don’t go either.

Here for a birthday. Party of 16 & we had no issues. Good service, effective & effecient with no confusion by our server. Food was good. I had the chopped steak, mashed potatoes & veggies and then I added the unlimited fried & garlic shrimp for $ 7.99. Thr portions from the entrée can be a little more but it is what it is. No one from the party of 16 had any complaints.

This outback is by far our favorite. We don’t even live in humble but make the drive out anyway. We have had a few great servers since finding this location, currently we have Anne. She is now the bartender but is an all around great person to have on their staff. She still waits on us when we go in and always makes sure our meals are hot, fresh and correct! If one of these things aren’t right, she fixes it immediately! Great place, great service and great food!
P. S. The owner is also very pleasant and helpful! I recommend this Outback over any other in Houston. Believe me, we’ve tried them all!

Our server was kind. I wish I could remember her name though. She was able to deal with my dads crazy ass and endure his «jokes» so I’d say she’s a trooper. As for my food… It was alright. I ordered a medium rare steak and it came out more medium than anything… Cutting it was like sawing wood — but since it was still good and still red I wasn’t going to send it back. Other than that, drinks were perfect and the sides were great!

Their protein portions keep getting smaller and smaller and prices too high for what you get. Been back a few times and sent each diner back because of overcooked chicken I could not eat. Have given up and not going back.

**WARNING! DO NOT ENTER**I wish someone warned us! We were hopeful to give it another try after our last less than pleasant experience but we left even more disappointed. Décor may look great but it stops there!
I will start with the appetizer & drink just like we did.
Big Bloke~ Didn’t they used to be served in an ice cold mug? I guess I should just be happy the beer was cold.
Bloomin’ Onion~ SMALL, the batter that was on it was burnt & although it was smaller than usual we didn’t have enough sauce to dip. It’s hard to swallow an over-​fried onion.
Bread & Butter~ hard, NOT warm & soft as usual and again, not enough butter to cover ½ the loaf.
Let’s move onto the meal. My husband ordered the Outback burger as it’s always been his favorite. Besides way SMALLER, TOTALLY different meat & it tasted steamed. What? NOT the juicy flavorful grilled burger we used to come for. He even made the comment that it tasted like a burger you’d get out of a vending machine or frozen packet then microwaved. Let’s not even waste time on the few fries on the MUCH SMALLER plate too! I ordered the wood-​Grilled California Chicken Sandwich as I was in the mood for a sandwich and it sounded fresh & good. Um, look at my picture… it was like an over-​grilled chicken nugget on a much larger bun. I had to actually take my sandwich apart to try to peel away the outer part of stringy chicken so I could get to the inside. On a good note the guacamole was good. Bacon tasted microwaved as chewy NOT crispy.
Although our waiter was friendly he wanted to socialize with other waiters at the bar instead of making sure we had water. The manager saw that I was looking around to get a refill & finally came over and asked if I needed a refill?! Um, yes please
SMALLER portions are perfectly fine IF the food tastes great and I don’t have to pay MORE for LESS! As much as we used to LVE this place I can’t say we will ever be back. Kind of Sad actually, especially since I wasted my ONE dinner night out with NO kids for this.
I gave it one star for it’s new look! Great pub style.
Sorry Outback. You used to be our favorite budget-​friendly family go-​to restaurant but YOU made us choose to find a new spot. Next stop, Texas Roadhouse!

Off to a not so good start. Although the sangria was good, their Aussie Cheese Fries were just terrible. The potatoes, bacon and even cheese had absolutely no taste, some of the worse fries I’ve had in a very long time. And the bacon was lightly cooked, no crunch at all, and rubbery. We left half the order on the table.
Just finished salad. Dinner salad with honey mustard dressing. This was ok. They have a good honey mustard here.
My prime rib just arrived; the 16 oz size. It’s dry, difficult to cut, and taste like nothing. The last prime rib I had I cut with fork, this I can’t cut with a knife. It’s very disappointing to get one of the juicer steaks and have a piece of cardboard delivered to our table.
Although most of tonight’s meal was pretty pathetic, Karen did enjoy her filet, sweet potato, and sangria. For me I would highly recommend staying away from this place.
However, to be fare the Smokehouse Mac&Cheese was great.
This had a happy ending though. The manager apologized and and took the prime rib off of our check. So a big ‘nice job’ to the manager.

The food here is like bad bar food. Our Appetizers were so salty and disgusting that we didn’t even order the entrees. I have been going to this Outback for years but recently it has went so downhill regarding the food.

This is a great place to go for happy hour or dinner. Went here on a Wednesday for happy hour. There were seats available at the bar right away. Happy hour was from 3 to 6 and had a lot of great choices. They even have happy hour on Friday and Saturdays which is great.
I ordered the Victoria Filet with broccoli. The steak was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. The broccoli was some of the best broccoli I have ever had. A+.

We’ve been coming here since our 1^st date, 25 years ago. Tonight? Irish coffee and amazing brownie dessert with hot fudge– yum! Wonderful, attentive service. AND, I noticed bright, lovely décor on the back wall. Pretty! Have always like the ambiance here.
Anne was our server tonight. So helpful, attentive and friendly. After a long, mean day we appreciated Anne’s bright disposition!

Used the click ahead seating and was happy to be seated as soon as we got there. I have been to this location many times and have never had a problem… except today…
The hostess that showed us to our table wasn’t friendly and she left before we all got seated. Then it took our server a long time to acknowledge us and get our drink order. We requested bread but didn’t receive it until right before our food came out. The waiter was friendly, but took forever.
I ordered the outback special medium well with a loaded baked potato. The steak was good, but I found a long hair in my potato. The waitstaff apologized profusely and they re cooked the meal and comped it on our ticket. I gave 2 stars because they were so nice about it and comped it.

Headed here for New Years Eve dinner! Sat at the bar, so we didnt have to wait long! Tried out their special drink, supposed to be a moonshine punch. It was okay, but im a wine/​beer girl at heart. Steak was cooked great and those garlic mashed potatoes were soo good. Our waitress did a great job on this busy night!

Service and everything else was good but I made the mistake of ordering their chicken fried steak which was cooked with TOO MUCH BATTER. The side of rice tasted out of something from a microwave ready box. Garlic mashed potatoes were okay but they did not have brown gravy which is really dumb.
