Haven’t eaten here in a few years, but most places were closed today. GROSSMISTAKE. The appetizer was fair, and that was the best part of the meal. I ordered a burger, and it was so overcooked, it was hard, dry, and crunchy. Didn’t want fries with the burger, so ordered a side salad. The salad was delivered to me after I was done eating the leather burger, and waiting to pay the bill. This place is disgusting. I will NOT go back, even if nowhere else is open.

My wife and I have eaten at Applebee’s in Hummelstown several times a month for the past year. It was part of our nightout routine. We are now looking for another place because the food portions keep shrinking. Every time I get the Asian Shrimp salad I am disappointed. Almost $ 11 for 4oz of lettuce??? I asked the waitress about the small size of the salad, she said that corporate was shrinking the food portions. «We can only use 4oz of lettuce now». I love the salad but I am not paying $ 11 for something that small. I can got to Wendy’s an get a much better value. Applebee’s needs to step up their game!

I came here with a friend after the Color Run because we wanted to grab a quick bite to eat before heading home. When we got there, we waited about 10 – 15 minutes before anyone approached our table so we were quite anxious to place an order. A manager eventually came to our table and explained that they were quite busy(it wasn’t even half full) and our server Corrie had just gotten 3 tables, so she would take our drink orders and our food order if we were ready(we were). Our food and drinks were delivered by a food runner… and we never saw another person at our table for the rest of our visit. No drink refills, no «how is everything?», no check delivered. We never even met this Corrie person who was supposed to be serving us! We sat there after finishing, waiting for someone to walk by so we could flag them down and get our check. By that time, we wanted to leave very badly. I finally had to get up and walk across the restaurant to the bar and ask the bartender for our check. We saw her speak briefly to the manager and gesture to us, but immediately after we explained that we were unhappy and needed our check, the manager interrupted us and picked up the phone to take a food order! I was appalled! It was a long, detailed order, so we had to continue to wait even longer as we stood there waiting for her to address us. We explained to her what happened and her response was to apologize for our slow service and say that she’d understand if we didn’t want to tip Corrie. I actually had to laugh at this and remind her, furious at this point, that we obviously wouldn’t be tipping for service we didn’t receive ATALL. What kind of manager brings up a tip in a situation like this?! We did not receive any type of comps and had to pay our full bill. This was perhaps the worst dining experience I’ve ever had and I will never, ever return.

Service/staff very friendly Food was horrible. Appetizers were tiny and expensive, also did not come out hot. The chicken quesadilla had a bone in it that my fiancé grinded her tooth on. The boneless wings that were supposed to be buffalo, came out very dry and plain. It was late at night, so we didn’t have many options. I also felt this establishment was not that clean. Next time will not be back.

Pro: They were open at 9:30pm. Con: I ordered shrimp and broccoli cavatappi which had a horrible bitter aftertaste, like the broccoli was rotten or the cream had turned. Pro: The staff handled the issue well – I got a new meal, both were comped, and the manager came out to apologize. Con: Early the next morning my husband was violently ill with textbook symptoms of food poisoning from his meal(short rib and wing sampler). I wrote them a long complaint about it through their website. Pro: They called me back the next day, and left a message for me to call at my convenience. Con: When I called back it said, the voicemail box is full, goodbye. Pro: They called me back two days later. Con: The Applebee’s staffer began the call with, «I hope your husband is feeling better, but many other people ordered what he did and didn’t get sick, so it probably wasn’t the food.» Oh really? He then offered me free meal vouchers and asked if there was anything else he could do. I declined the free meals, and suggested if he wanted to do something for me he could check on the hygiene standards in the kitchen, since two out of our three meals were bad, with issues crossing meat, vegetables, and milk. Bottom line. Don’t go here.

I was given a birthday gift certificate for Applebee’s and went to the Hershey location expecting average food and service realizing this was a chain. My sister and I were completely surprised and in a good way. The server, Tracy, gave us excellent service! She was very attentive, knew the menu quite well and recommended some options. An an appetizer, we got the grilled chicken won-ton tacos – they were spicy and great! I got the quesadilla burger which was delicious and cooked perfectly. My sister got the penne pasta which was also very good. I am a lover of French onion soup but it’s a rarity I will find a really good one. The server recommended theirs as very good and she wasn’t pulling our legs. It was fantastic! Not too salty, the perfect temperature and the onions were perfectly cooked. I will return here just for the damned soup! In a very nice touch, we casually mentioned to our server that it was my sister’s birthday and she brought out a slice of cheesecake to go. Nice! All in all, we were very pleased and will return to this location. In fact, we were so pleased with our meal and service, we called the manager over and gave him kudos for the food and Tracy’s service! So, comparing this to other similar chain restaurants, this place gets five stars.

After a long day of working off site, I was craving chicken, So I drove through main street and right in-front of me was Applebee’s. I went inside and ordered the Fiesta Lime Chicken to go and waited at the bar for the food. Once it arrived, i grabbed the bag and drove away, to my surprise I got to my room and found only chicken and no rice! I had to google to make sure that I wasn’t imagining that the meal came with rice. This is the final straw, and I will never walk into another Applebee’s again. The additional star i gave this place is due to the cleanliness of the establishment and the attitude of the employee’s.

A cute small location. They weren’t to busy so service was excellent. All of our food was good. They fufilled our request for a booth instead of a table. Can’t ask much more

Don’t expect very much, the service is ok, the food is nothing special, many other places around that could give you better food for the price.

I haven’t eaten at Applebees in over a year. I used to go all the time when I was in high school and college, but the food and service itself just got worse and worse to the point where I just stayed clear over the past years. However, it was 11PM on a Saturday, and Hershey PA appears to have very little food options open past 9 or 10PM, which I find hard to believe as it’s a tourist spot. So anyways, it was either Applebees or some other place that had bad Unilocal reviews. We choose Applebees. The place was not packed at all, with a few groups scattered about. Everyone was very friendly and happy to help. We had a few questions about the menu, and the waitress was honest with each one. We ended up getting chicken wings with no sauce, fish and chips, and some type of Chicken Penne Alfredo. The chicken wings were a bit tough, but everything else was really good, surprising all of us. I gave it 4 stars because of the chicken wings being quite tough, and the penne was a bit spicy when there was no spicy mark next to it on the menu. Outside of that, it was probably one of the better Applebees I’ve been to, which surprised me reading past reviews, all of which were almost over a year old.

Food wise, this is standard for all the Applebees I have been too. However this location is BUSY. Expect a long wait for a table. Once you sit down though the service was good and the food was hot. It most certainly got the job done.

I ordered a mojito and it was literally concentrated lime juice over ice with a couple mint leaves. After 20 min of our waiter ignoring us, I told him it was just undrinkable(never sent a drink back until now). He didn’t offer to have it remade, just brought me a water and took it off the bill. We were in town on business and avoided this place for the rest of the week, which is sad because we love applebees

WOW. Never ever never ever would I eat here again. Seriously, it is a chain restaurant. How can they screw everything we order up? Is it really rocket science to cook food? Let’s start with the service: Sat down and waiting 15 minutes for our drinks and our waitress had the attitude that when she brought things for us it was a favor. Horrible service. Appetizer. This was about the only thing edible however after sitting there for 40 minutes we were so hungry it could have really been bad and we still would have eaten it. Main course: Me — Santa Fe Chicken Salad: I asked for my chicken to be blackened and dressing on the side. I received a white piece of chicken with light grill marks w/some pepper sprinkled on top and about 1⁄3 of it was fat. Ew. The salad was so drenched in dressing the lettuce was stuck together. Yuk. Needless to say I sent it back and waited until I got home to eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Him — Steak — medium well with garlic mash and steamed veggies. The steak was more like rare, was almost entirely fat, and was not the steak he ordered. He ate the sides but the steak was a total flop. My kids had the hotdogs and chicken fingers. fortunately they didn’t screw those up. I am moving in 5 days and with any luck i will never be returning to PA however I do have some great friends here and have met some great people so I wanted to put the word out so they would not have to go to this sorry excuse for a restaurant and waste their time. I asked for a manager and she took my meal and his meal off of the total. gee thanx. I’d rather go to Benihana and spend $ 200(or more if I have a couple of mudslides haha) and have a delicious meal than to spend $ 40 and have crappy service paired with even crappier food.
