My wife and son went out and had lunch here. We’ve lived in HB our whole lives and this is semi new so we tried it. The food was above average but it took forever to get it. And the girl ringing us up made it seem as if we were a burden to order food. I don’t think I’ll go back.

How does this place have more than two and a half stars?! My god. This was honestly one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. A friend and I ventured to downtown HB for quaint lunch and this place looked perfect! First of all, ordering was easy, except our food took forever and when it came out it wasn’t even what we ordered. My friend got her food probably ten minutes before mine, and the next table got theirs while I was STILL waiting for mine. Also, in the midst of all this, the cashier brought my girl friend her drink that also was not what she had ordered. When my food finally arrived, it was disgusting. I ordered a basic breakfast burrito and the eggs were so soggy and watery that all I could eat was the bacon out of the middle of my burrito. I don’t know how this place has four stars. Oh, and the only reason I gave the two stars is because the pineapple soft serve was delicious.

There food is always fresh! I eat here a lot especially cause I work around the corner… I almost always get«The Buds combo» and it is perfect amount of food for me. The tomato basil soup is delicious. Order anything and you won’t be disappointed.

This place is substandard. Be prepared to wait quite a while for your food which isn’t very good or even fresh. $ 13 for a sandwich which would cost $ 6-$ 8 anywhere else. If it were good it would be a different story.

Ordered the Breaky Burrito: comes with egg, cheese, avocado, tomatoes, mushrooms, and bacon. I had mine on a spinach tortilla. It was very yummy and fresh. The bacon was crispy, which I love and the cheese was really good. They serve it with a little cup of fresh fruit and a some salsa which in pretty sure is homemade. Definitely weekend come back for this.

Came in to try it out. My bf got a sandwich and I got a salad. I did not receive my receipt so I assumed my order was correct. We got home and my salad was wrong. I called the restaurant to complain. The cook answered the phone and informed me that the person working the cash register rang my order in wrong and charged me for that salad which was more expensive than the one I ordered. I don’t blame the cook here bc she was reading the ticket. If I had received my receipt this could have been avoided. As for my bfs sandwich it was kind of small for the price. The cook I talked to offered me a free salad the next time I come in but I’m not making that mistake twice. This was my first time here and I’m not coming back

Okay so I gave this place another shot because I was in a bind and the line at Jan’s was way too long! Seems as if they made some changes to their staff, and the new staff is super friendly. They even let me order breakfast on a weekday(bc they weren’t busy). I got George’s breakfast burrito and customized it a bit since I don’t eat meat or dairy. Delicious! Also they gave me a sample of their dairy free gluten free dole whip! So excited that I found that deliciousness and that I have this place another shot!

It was my first time here. I ordered The Basilico based upon the reviews and I was not disappointed! It was so delicious! Mozzarella, tomato, field greens, avocado with Balsamic vinegar drizzle on warm, toasty ciabatta bread. Oh my!!! I can’t wait to eat here again. I would love to try other sandwiches but this was so good I may have to get someone to go with me and split sandwiches because I need to eat The Basilico again and soon!!! Bomb-diggity!!!

Wasn’t too impressed with this place. We ate here for breakfast and ordered the poached eggs and toast. We felt it was a little over priced for what we got. And it took about 15 minutes to get our food when we were the only ones in there. We most likely won’t be back.

Awesome locals place. Very healthy & fresh. The customer service is awesome here, too. I came with my Japanese friends who didn’t speak much English. When they forgot to order one of our drinks, due to miscommunication on our part, the gentleman cashier gave us a large complimentary drink. Service like this is what brings loyal customers back. This place rocks and you HAVE to try it. PS. get the dole whip!

I saw the Avocado Café golf cart cruising around the neighborhood, and thought hey this would be great for lazy Sunday morning they will come pick me and my wife up! Little did we know that the food would be bland and way over priced! it cost us 21 dollars for 2 small sandwiches! needless to say well just keep walking a few more steps down the street to any of the number other tasty local joints on main street.

A nice, fresh place to grab some healthy grub. Simple menu, but wasn’t really wow’d by anything. I think it’s a popular spot for the ladies, I usually crave a steak after eating a wrap.

Cute café up the street from the boardwalk, nicely tucked away from all the crowded shops and restaurants. The brocolli soup was delish and also had the Special house salad with Tuna! Loved the sprouts, avocado, mushrooms, carrots, and fresh greens. The best part was the homemade dressings. Try the Jalapeño ranch if you like some kick! I noticed all the locals come here too! When you see that, you know it’s a good place!

This little place is absolutely amazing! They have a variety of wraps, sandwiches and salads. I ordered the lettuce wrap with chicken, bacon, sprouts, tomato, spicy ranch and avocado. Very paleo friendly. Delicious food! Will definitely visit again!

I absolutely LOVE avocados so when I heard of Avocado Café, I knew I had to try it. After perusing the menu and browsing Unilocal reviews, I decided on the Basilico sandwich for my first visit there and I thought it was pretty tasty. On my most recent trip, I wanted to try something new and ordered the chicken salad sandwich but they were out! Fate must’ve been at work since I automatically ordered the Basilico after hearing that. Whoops! Guess my resolve to try something else kinda crumbled hah. If it was even possible, the sandwich was even MORE delicious than the first time! Balsamic vinaigrette, mixed greens, tomatoes, fresh buffalo mozzarella and avocado spread on ciabatta bread. I think they added lemon to the sandwich(or crack) because it was absolutely addicting! How can you go wrong? For your side option, I suggest trying the chips with the potato salad. Delish! PS. There’s another location in Irvine that I need to try as well…

I was in the area recently to check out the brand new Bruxie location but since that wouldn’t be opening until later in April, I was hungry and needed a spot for lunch before heading back to work. While driving in, I had spotted Avocado Café and made a mental note to try this out. A friend was also hungry so we walked over and decided to split a sandwich. Yay! After checking out the menu for a few minutes, we both decided that The Tower 9 would be perfect. It’s just a perfect blend of everything — chicken salad, avocados, pepper jack cheese, sprouts, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce and mustard on squaw bread. These sandwiches are huge and if you’re not that hungry, definitely split this with a friend or take the other half home for later. Our sandwich came with a dill pickle and macaroni salad. I didn’t really care for the salad but LOVED the sandwich. Also loved that they brewed fresh iced tea for us. I love iced tea. If you love avocados, you will love this place. If you haven’t guessed already, avocado is in EVERYTHING. This is a tiny location but they’ve also got an outdoor patio. Luckily we beat the lunch rush because we came in after lunch.

Delicious Tuna Sandwich with Avocado! The set up is like subway restaurant. I really enjoy the sprout in my sandwich. Kinda expensive for a sandwich, but I think it’s because of the avocado and bacon bits that come with the sandwich. Overall, I would definitely come back to try their smoothie and acai bowl.
