2nd time back was a bit different experience. The«waiter» was less than attentive — we went on a weekday and the wait service wasn’t there(it seemed). In any case, the experience was different and the food, not as good as the Chili Colorado.

Great and friendly staff, great food, a hidden gem. I probably come here once a week at least on the weekends and have never been disappointed. You get two different kinds of salsa and freshly baked chips right when you sit down. I recommend anything on the menu, especially the chicken enchiladas and the pozole.

This place is wonderful! I happened upon this little restaurant because I work at the dog grooming salon next door(bubbles) and I eat here almost every day! The Mexican pizza and the mole are to die for! The people that own and run this place are the sweetest most attentive people. Eat here, you won’t be disappointed!

Good mexican style breakfast. Chille rellano and machaca con juevos was quite good. Rice and beans beyond the ordinary. Good service. We are fortunate to have authentic restaurants like this in our community.

This is my most favorite cheap Mexican Restaurant in O.C. The prices are so cheap for lunch and dinner with good size portions that will fill your appetite up in no time. My friend discovered this hidden gem a few years ago that I come here when I feel like Mexican. I usually order the tamale sometimes a cheese enchilada together with rice and beans. The chips with salsa always taste fresh and warm when they bring it to the table. I have tried the carnitas, horchata and the different flavor flans. Food is very fresh and always delicious here never was dissatisfied. I love this place.

A family of 6 eating dinner for less than $ 40?! And without a coupon? Yes! We come here at leased one to two times a week. Kinda feels like being a Nana’s house on a Sunday. The Menudo is the best I’ve ever had and I pretty much order it every time I come here. If you know what’s up with Mexican food then this is the place for you. If you think chipotle, Freds, or Alberto’s is Mexican food then you probably won’t like this place.

Always my call when Im at home. Good portions, decent prices, and it IS authentic Mexican. The owner, his wife and family are really nice, work hard, and give great service when you dine in. Great Machaca, Asada; the pork and chicken are never dry, and the flan is pretty decent too!

Some of the best Mexican food around. Always ate at their locations in the SGV and thank god I found their OC location! Some of the best bacon wrapped shrimps and enchiladas around town.

Friendly staff and one of the best mexican joint in the area. Casual environment. Their tortas are great, the bread is really delicious. I also love their camarones al diablo, spicy and lots of aromas. Finally, I enjoy their carnitas, and their taco shell salads.

When stumbling upon this place while I was at Home Depot, I decided to give it a try since I am on a quest to find good and authentic food near me. Upon entering, it feels like you are definitely in a small pueblo(town) restaurant somewhere in rural Mexico. 4 stars for service but 3 stars for the food. The guy was so nice. I just wish the food was as good as his service. We ordered a shrimp tostada and carne asada taco. You get free chips and salsa when dining in. The shrimp tostada was more like a bunch of chopped up shrimp with pico de gallo and some lime juice. It lacked flavor and wasn’t what I’m used to. The carne asada taco had a generous amount of meat on it and was served with the cilantro and onion garnishes. Meat was moist and taco was just ok.

YUCK. Super disappointed in this place. My boyfriend and I were craving Mexican food, so we flipped thru our entertainment book and decided to give this place a try. Pros: ** HUGE burritos. My boyfriend liked it, I tried it and thought it was«meh» at best. ** Pretty good taco Cons: ** Disappointing chips and salsa. Usually we blow thru 2 – 3 baskets of chips in Mexican restaurants… not this one. The«hot» salsa was decent, mild was bad and the chips weren’t fresh, they almost tasted stale, and didn’t have any salt. ** HORRIBLE, horrible service. Had to ask(and wait forever) for refills, waited for our server to get a drink and dance with the other server before we could get a box, then had to wait almost 10 minutes for our check, because they didn’t know how to do the entertainment book coupon and had to call their manager(on the phone). ** I love chile rellenos… unfortunately, the ones here are GROSS. Like inedible bad. ** combo plate was really small. Ordered the chile relleno/taco combo. Small chile, small taco, 2 bites of rice and a small scoop of beans. Bottom line, we definitely won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend it… even with a buy one get one free coupon. :(

I’ve been going here off-and-on for the last six years, and the food has always been delicious! Service can be a little slow due to the restaurant being run by a small family, but the food is totally worth it. Also, the meals are cooked from scratch — no pre-made junk here. Complimentary salsa and DELICIOUSCHIPS are served with every meal. The only significant complaint I have is that this restaurant recently discontinued its $ 10.75 all-you-can-eat menu, which was an absolutely amazing deal. Hopefully that is brought back soon, but if not, stop by anyway and have some authentic Mexican cuisine. If you’re feeling courageous, split the«helado frito» dessert(«fried ice-cream» dessert) with a friend and/or lover: you won’t regret it!

My family and I were going to have lunch at Sushi Top but they were not open for lunch. A couple doors over, I saw a long banner advertising an array of Mexican dishes at cheap prices. So, we changed our plans and had lunch at Casa Jimenez. The restaurant is a no frills, old school Mexican joint with tables and red pleather booths. The menu is huge and offers something for everyone. My family and I ordered the following: (1) Chips & Salsas — Complimentary Greasy chips, red salsa, and pico de gallo — Delish. 3 Stars (2) Shredded Beef Taco, Chile Relleno, Rice & Beans — $ 8.95 I was telling hubby that the taco was one of the best tacos I’ve eaten. He replied, «It should be good because it was a deep fried taco.» Apparently, the entire taco… shell and filling are deep fried together. He saw the holes made by the toothpick that held the taco together. I could have eaten 5 more of them«deep fried tacos». The chile relleno was tasty but the beans and rice were nothing special. 3 Stars (3) Chile Colorado Plate — $ 8.95 Hubby’s order arrived and looked strange because the chile colorado was topped with melted queso cheese. I tasted the dish and it was just«ok». When hubby ordered his lunch, I asked the waitress if the corn tortillas were homemade and she replied, «Yes». I guess the restaurant thinks that taking the corn tortillas out of the plastic bag from the grocery store is «homemade». Not! 2.5 Stars (4) Chile Verde Lunch Special Plate — $ 5.99 Son really enjoyed his chile verde lunch. He commented that his pork was very tender and tasted good. I sampled it and agreed. 3 Stars (5) 3 Diet Sodas — $ 2.25EACH My expensive soda was served in an old school, red Coca Cola plastic cup. If I ever return, I will order water. If I’m in the area, I may return for their lunch specials that are priced at $ 5.99 and I’ll certainly order a «Deep Fried Taco». 3 Stars
