Dance Threadz

I have been to 3 other stores that specialize in pointe shoes and pointe shoe fittings (not including Discount Dance). I much prefer Dance Threadz over the other stores. The other places recommended different pointe shoes that my daughter couldn’t stand. Dance Threadz made a recommendation for shoes that my daughter danced very well in and she loved the fit, too. I like to have fittings with the owner, she is highly knowledgeable but her employees also seem highly competent. They have never been snotty or unfriendly, so I have no clue what that other person was complaining about. Personally, I recommend others to this place if they want a good pointe shoe fitting.

Very competitive pricing and the ladies here are all super sweet and helpful. The other day, I came in looking to get fitted for a different kind of pointe shoe because the ones I was wearing were giving my feet problems. All three ladies working in the store were incredibly patient and sweet and helped to find the new perfect shoe for my feet! They even offered to hold the shoes for me for a few days until I got my next paycheck! Their selection is pretty extensive, but if you’re looking for something they don’t have, they will offer to order it for you! I used to order almost everything I needed from Discount Dance Supply, but not anymore!

Love coming in here, great prices and great service, Meaghan took good care of us and made sure mu daughter had the right pair of ballet shoes, she took her time and wasn’t rushing us. She actually took the time to make sure my daughter had the right shoe and width size.

Absolute best small business experience I’ve had in a long time! The owner was so helpful and knowledgeable. Not only was the visit pleasant with the owner, but the two young gals working there were just as sweet and knowledgeable. Dance Threadz will definitely have what you are looking for, they have a great selection of everything, from leotards, to the best quality shoes to the finer details like… bun accessories. Thank you for your attentiveness, I will definitely be back.

Although I did not find what I was looking for I was very pleased with my brief experience here. I walked into the store about 20 minutes before closing, and was greeted by the owner who was also on the phone giving someone directions to her store. Once the phone call was done I had her complete attention and asked for a particular brand of ballet shoe. Unfortunately she did not carry it in her store. You would think that my experience would end there, but she was kind enough to call another dance store in the area to see if they carried it, but unfortunately they also did not. She then showed me some possible substitutes and I was so pleased at all the high quality dance brands that she did have in stock. I did leave empty-​handed this time, but I will absolutely return. There was a large variety of tights, tutus & skirts that I know my girls would love. The owner also specializes in pointe shoes, so when the time comes, I already know where to take my girls for some quality items and superb customer service!

I come here because it’s close and I don’t have a clue about Dance since it’s my daughter’s first year. I’m not obsessive about the shoes, tights, leotards like some of the other people in there.
I have standards, want my daughter to look good, have a nice fitting set-​up and I’m not overly concerned about price, so for that, this place serves my needs.
It seems like you need to be somewhat over the top in order to get the same level of attention and service. I’m sure they deal with newbies all the time, but my impression is that they are a bit snooty and thrive off of the moms and daughters that are a bit more «experienced» and Dance-​zillas.
My advice is that because you are a small business and are in an industry that caters to moms and GROWING kids, you have the opportunity to build loyalty over the long-​term. Take advantage of that, don’t take it for granted.

Adorable outfits that are surprisingly reasonably priced. I needed last-​minute dance attire for my two and a half-​year-​old. I was surprised they had more than one to choose from. They have lots of options and most were in the $ 30 price range. I bought ballet shoes/​slippers in toddler size for $ 14. The young lady working in the store that Monday morning was very helpful and sweet. I will be back!

My son waited until the last minute to pick up a few things for his APA audition. I had read some of the reviews and was a little hesitant to shop here.
I was greeted immediately upon entry. I let her know my situation and she was very helpful. I needed jazz shoes and pants for my son and she not only advised me on these items but showed me options and how they can be modified. She also let me know about the return policy since my son wasn’t with me.
I wish I had gotten her name but it was the blonde girl who helped me. Thanks!

We’ve been back several more times and have had nothing but a great experience. I try to go when the owner is there and then I know it will be a great experience, she is wonderful! I’ve started buying all of our tights there, not just for ballet, as they are the sturdiest, most long lasting tights I have found anywhere and a great price!

When looking for a place to purchase new tap shoes, a dance friend recommended Dance Threadz, so I called on a Sunday to find out hours. They are usually closed to the public on Sundays, but had ballet shoe fittings all day – the woman said to come by and they would take care of me. The girl I spoke with on the phone knew who I was the second I walked in, and immediately helped me find the perfect tap shoes within my budget, all while happily discussing tap classes with me. Dance Threadz is not a discount dance store (if that’s what you’re looking for), but the quality makes them well worth it.

Great shop! We discovered Dance Threadz recently when a mom at my daughter’s dance studio recommended we go there for pointe shoes. The owner spent almost an hour fitting my 13 year old daughter to make sure she had the best shoe. My daughter loves her shoes, the teacher is happy with them and I appreciated the attention and care we received. Thank you, Dance Threadz!

I’m not sure how the other reviewers had such a bad experience… I never have! The workers are friendly, many of whom are dancers and really know what they are talking about. Every time I go in I’m helped right away. The owner is fantastic with fitting pointe shoes and i know that many studios, even from as far as Newport Beach, send their new pointe students there to be fit. The store is very supportive of local dance studios and teachers. Prices are reasonable and selection is respectable. The only reason I did not give Dance Threadz five stars is that the store is a little small and doesn’t have every pointe shoe available, which is a trend with most dance stores (aside from the Discount Dance Supply warehouse… but who wants to drive that far…)
I’ve been going here since I was a dancer many moons ago and will keep going there with my little ones.

This place has the best service ever! We walked in and right away the girl behind the counter greeted us. She helped my daughter pick out her First pair of toe shoes and she spent a good solid hour with us. I love all the selection of leotards and when you get on their email list they send you out discounts on tights… Oh boy do we go through those babies!

I just signed my 17-​month-​old daughter up for a dance class. I needed dance apparel within the next couple days, so I didn’t have time to buy online. After reading the horrible reviews, I was worried going here, but didn’t really have much choice. Fortunately, I had a great experience! The employee was extremely helpful, friendly, and patient with me and my squirmy little toddler. The prices were reasonable too. Only $ 14 for little ballet slippers and $ 30 for a leotard with attached skirt. I will definitely go back when she outgrows this outfit.

I love this store! We drive in from Long Beach because the staff is so helpful and the selection is outstanding. Most recently, I took my daughter in for new pointe shoes. The service and attention we received was unmatched by any other local store. I highly recommend Dance Threadz.

The other review is completely false. Everyone that works at Dance Threadz is very courteous and polite. I’ve never seen any of them on their phones and they are very knowledgeable about the product they sell. They have always called me back right away and I have never had any problems with them. I’ve been going to Dance Threadz for at least 13 years and the current owner is their best owner yet. I suggest you shop there for all your dance supply needs.
Discount Dance Supply on the other hand is a terrible place to shop. Maybe the other reviewer mixed up the names.

I still haven’t heard back from this store even though I left several messages for the manager to contact me. I ordered my shoes elsewhere in the meantime (Discount Dance Supply store in Santa Ana) and got my shoes in only two days, from smiling people whose noses weren’t buried in their cell phones. I suggest everyone stay far away from this place… they will have no qualms about completely wasting your time without ever actually producing a product for you to buy.
