I had a meeting nearby but didn’t eat anything at the restaurant we were at. I was on my way to the parking garage when a promoter Mitch stopped me and gave me a flyer. Paying no attention I kept walking and was thinking about food. I read the flyer and«Home of the finest Corned Beef and Cabbage» stopped me in my tracks. Here I am and the Corned Beef was THEBEST! Polynesians love corned beef as much as the Irish.

I love this place. Bartenders are awesome. Gave us Apple moonshine shots on the house multiple occasions, which were awesome. We are big Guinness fans and they serve it proper here. A lot of places you get it from it tastes flat, but they care for their taps so it tastes the way it should. Also, Irish nachos are delicious… My husband likes to make this one of his stops every birthday. Definitely worth checking out. I prefer going on their off days because it get pretty crowded on the weekends.

** Summary ** Heard this was the best spot in the OC to watch a comedy show. Came in last Thursday and left disappointed for multiple reasons. ** Details ** I started doing open-mic comedy as a hobby two months ago. I heard Gallagher’s was the top comedy spot in the OC, so I came in last Thursday for the first time to see what a «real show» looks like. The Facebook page for Gallagher’s said that the comedy show starts at 9PM on Thursdays. I came in at 845PM to snag a good spot. Unfortunately, the show didn’t start for another HOURANDFIFTEENMINUTES! Not sure why?! No word of warning on FB, no sign outside the bar about the delay, and no explanation by the show’s host. Whatever. Ordered some food around 915PM to busy myself. My server Alicia was phenomenal! She brought out everything quickly and stayed on top of refills for my water. Unfortunately, I was only able to get one-third of the way through my $ 11 cheeseburger before the bottom-bun dissolved into several wet, inedible chunks. Finished the fries and pushed the remaining two-thirds of the burger aside. Everything was delicious while it lasted. All told, $ 18 before tip for a Guinness and a cheeseburger that fell apart halfway through eating it. You be the judge. Finally, 10PM rolls around and the show begins. An older man came to the stage(the host), introduced himself, then spent the next ten minutes telling the halfway-filled bar to shut the fuck up. «Shut the fuck up, turn your phones off, shut the fuck up, face the stage, shut the fuck up, and DON’T HECKLE!» This man was like a living thesaurus: he told us to shut the fuck up in so many ways I could hardly believe there were that many ways to tell people to shut the fuck up! It was like Fight Club — rule number one: you shut the fuck up. Rule number two: YOUSHUTTHEFUCKUP! I seriously thought this was an act of some kind, but no, he just really wanted us all to shut the fuck up. GOTCHA! Did I mention he wanted us to shut the fuck up? It kind of put a damper on the mood of the comedy show before it even started. Glad I wasn’t the comic coming on after that ten-minute berating. Thankfully, the three comics that came on were all absolute pros: each was very accomplished in their comedy careers, two having been on TV. And it’s a good thing they were pros because this was the MOSTHECKLEDSHOW I’VEEVERFUCKINGSEEN! A *very rude* albeit somewhat pretty girl sitting at the bar did not follow the show’s only rule!(The only rule was to «Shut the fuck up», in case you couldn’t recall.) Well despite the ten-minute speech about«shutting the fuck up or we’ll throw you out on your ass», this chick went on and on and on! The host and security didn’t do a fucking thing about this annoying girl, her meek boyfriend occasionally joining in/apologizing for her drunkenness. I’m sitting in the crowd pulling my hair out wishing that the huge security guard would kick that bratty girl to the curb, but unfortunately justice was elusive. Despite this, the show went on and was pretty dang good. However, I will not be returning to Gallagher’s for comedy night. Avoid.

This is one of my favorite bars to go to have a few drinks and just unwind. Jib is awesome and is always attentive, to everyone’s needs. They have different things going on on varies nights of the week. Live bands, reggae nights, and karaōke. It’s definitely a fun place to go to when you’re in the area. Although, if you are going to see the Originalites or any other main events they do take FOREVER to go on(a few hours later than expected) so plan accordingly.

If you’re ever on a date with a girl you don’t like take her to Gallaghers on a Thursday night! It’s comedy night so no fun is allowed. Conversation is strictly forbidden and believe me security enforces it. So if you want buy drinks, not talk to who you are with and listen to a fat guy on a stool talk about masturbating for 15 minutes Gallagher’s is that special place. And no, the guys at the door do not tell you when your going in that jacking off is the hot topic and you better not even breathe. It ain’t funny until the fat guy chokes his monkey. And it still ain’t funny. Epic fail Gallaghers.

Frankly, not my favorite. We walked in and one in our party immediately went to the bathroom and during that time the bartender explained the specials they had. When the other member of our party came back and asked for the bartender to retell the specials because he had missed them, the bartender literally rolls his eyes and then says the specials. Rude. Ok. We all got the 5 dollar whiskey coke. It was way too heavy on the whiskey, didn’t taste good. I would give 5 stars to the bartender with the braces. He was incredibly nice and personable, I wish he had been our bartender that night. Next time, I’ll probably pass by this bar.

Went there last year, was great the service was awesome and food incredible. Coming back soon maybe today. LOVE those cabbage and corn beef rolls, :) As far as the negative comments I don’t pay attention. You don’t like the place, then you go somewhere else, very simple. Great job to all the staff

HORRIBLE place. This is a really bad place. If you want bad service, bad drinks, rude security you absolutely have to try this ridiculous place. Well, drinks taste like water, you lose your money. I was living close, and my husband loves comedy. So we try and try many times. But I always hate this place. The guy from the comedy is a bad guy, passing by quieting people, if you talk they shush you and also they can take you out very rude. I have seen how they do this with people that do not agree with the comedy guy. Also I don’t know but I found very like irrespective that the comedy guys talk about racism. This is not funny. Also if you go outside and want to come back they don’t allow you. They are particularly very very rude and have a huge imagination.

A Chicago Bears bar!!! How could I give it less than 5 stars??? Great atmosphere, friendly staff. Great beer selection. And– a small area devoted to the Blackhawks! I’m sold. I definitely want to try this place out when I’m in HB during a Bears game… if they ever get better.:( That’s all.

Nice place. The bar is very popular but the service was still fine for the amount of customers that were there. The drinks were fine. I had a nice experience here.

The food is excellent, this bar is hard for me to review because it was a great bar for 3 days we were there the staff loved us we spent endless money in there until the last day we were there we had walked outside to leave an was told not to come back. They treat the locals a lot better than out of towners an you would think the shitty bounces all were mma champs the way they act.

Absolutely the worst service I’ve ever had. Server was a complete idiot. When I said something about it. She told me I was rude. And proceeded to try and get Management to throw me out. It’s a shame I really like there Irish breakfast. To top it off the«Manager» didn’t even apologize for his incompetent employee!

Best staff. Best patio. Clean toilets. Always feel comfortable even if I go for a drink alone. Thursday night comedy. The door staff are lovely. Ask the English dude with the beard who works there to sing and he probably will because he’s a f*ckin lad! Because the patio has a clear plastic fence, you get front row seats to all the drunk domestic arguments and fights between drunk people. It’s fantastically entertaining. One of my favorite bars in HB.

i made a reservation here for my 21st bday last weekend(7⁄11) early that week and i really liked they were so accommodating to the number of people i reserved for(about 30) for 7pm and they also told me i can come in early to decorate and i can bring a cake too. She asked me what area i would like and i specifically said not by the stage. I was planning on bringing my nieces and nephews who are less than 5y.o. so I called again on friday and asked if kids are allowed in and right away they said«yes», great! I get there a little after 7 and the guy cards me at the door, and my first thought is «if theyre carding me how are they allowing kids in here?» I asked and you can tell he didn’t really know what to say. yeah, definitely not a place to bring kids. they really should have told me «no» when i asked. They didn’t reserve anything for my party, the girl had to ask me how many people. i was getting a little upset but luckily there were a lot of tables open. the bad part was that they were all in a section CLOSESTTOTHESTAGE. After she reserved a whole section for us(reserve as in write in pen«reserve» on small budlite paper thing) a guy sat at a table with some lady and when my boyfriend casually told him about our reservation he got so upset because he had a reservation too and kind of slammed his chair like a 5 year old throwing a temper tantrum and sat at a different section… geeze. The food and drinks were good, the waitress Wendy gave good service, i felt like she was the only one working all night but i didnt pay attention. I had the whiskey wings and they were bomb. and i mean i just turned 21, but my Jameson and gingerale was good to me lol :) I wasn’t completely disappointed, I would go back, but just wouldnt reserve a party there again.
