Hair Design by Long

This was my first time getting a digital perm and it was completely worth every penny! You can choose from three different rod sizes for the curls and the curls come out very natural since it uses heat and the curls don’t start at the top of your head.
First, Long gave me a haircut since I wanted more volume in my hair and trimmed the dry ends. He was extra attentive while cutting. Afterwards, I got a wash and we started applying the chemicals for the digital perm. Then, he washed off the chemicals and put the rollers in my hair. Afterwards, we took out the rollers, washed my hair again, and began styling.
I can’t begin to start with how detailed Long is when it comes to making sure your hair looks even and exactly how you want it. From start to finish, he made sure to trim again and again until it looks exactly the way I wanted it.
The results: I have never been more satisfied with my hair from the look of it to the texture and bounce. My hair has always been lifeless and flat. Now, I finally feels like it has volume and personality. Overall, if you want to have a digital perm, I highly recommend Long. He has over 10 years of experience doing digital perms and does a superb job.

I had my regular perm by Long, first time, and it turned out great! My friends, coworkers all thought my perm looks great! Mr. Long knows what he is doing with hair, helpful suggestions and good hair cut as well. The price is reasonable. I definitely recommend !

This past weekend I had an appointment with Long and he made me wait at least 30 – 45 minutes. Finally when he was ready for me, he sat me down and said «I don’t like your hair. You have too much.» I laughed it off and let it go, but as he proceeded to cut my hair, he was very rough with it and yanked at it constantly, making me feel like he just absolutely hated his job. He continued to make a disgusted face and when he was halfway done, he said «Ugh, look your hair is all over me.»
To top it off, I had told him I only wanted to cut an inch off and was looking for a trim. He ended up chopping off at least 3 – 4 inches of my hair and the layers were not cut neatly. He didn’t even bother to shampoo my hair beforehand so my hair was standing up from static due to the amount of yanking he was doing to my hair with a plastic comb.
For all of this, he charged me the regular price and expects me to refer clients to him. I would have been better off without a haircut and felt awful leaving the salon.
I am very hurt by Long’s behavior and honestly don’t know what I did to deserve this treatment from him. I will not be going back to him ever again (and he probably is happy because he «hates» my hair).

Love this guy! Found him through Unilocal.Went in with my sister for a cut & digital perm. Had it done last Saturday and just washed my hair today. I love the results! It has been about three months since I’ve gotten my hair straightened and I love it! It’s still straight and absolutely easy to manage– I just shower and go! What I loved about long is his attention to detail with hair and his patience. You can tell he really loves hair!
The other places I go seem to get a little over it after a while (understandable– it’s a four hour perm), but long will go over each area over and over again until it’s perfect. Would highly recommend!

Long did a great job! I had my hair done 2 weeks ago. It took me a while to post a review because I haven’t had an opportunity to enjoy my new hair do. I had my hair cut short (a little above shoulder length… my hair was down to my bra strap) and a digital perm. Long was very honest to tell me that he was worried that my hair would not take the perm because my hair was so thin & fine. He used smaller rollers to try to make sure the curls would take. At first I was worried that my hair would turn out bad but he did the right thing. He explained exactly what would happen and it happened as he explained. The first week my curls were kinda tight and I wasn’t too happy about it but now the curls are getting loose and it’s how he explained. The digital perm does require some effort to get the curls you want. You won’t be waking up with your hair did like from the salon. I’ve had to use big roll curlers to get the curls I’m trying to achieve. Also I’m using Bumble and Bumble Crème to keep my curls nice but I think a different product might be better to keep the curls in check. Overall I’m happy with the result. The price for a cut and perm was reasonable. Long was friendly and professional. I’m definitely going back to Long when it’s time for my next hair cut and/​or perm.

I just got my digital perm and absolutely love it! My hair has a nice bouncy curl and doesn’t smell like the salon after the perm.

I’ve been to many other hair salons and so far this is the best one yet. The price was reasonable, he does great hair cuts and perms and is very professional. Here, he gives the best digital perm unlike the other salons. My hair looked flawless afterwards. This place is great, most likely coming back!

I decided to go for the digital perm because I read it wasn’t that damaging to hair. I’m a wash and go girl so I was thinking this perm would give me awesome hair without the fuss or damage of curling. Well guess what? It’s recommended you blow dry to style your curls! I don’t blow dry my hair at all so that was a major downer. You also cannot brush your hair. So what disappointed me with my visit is that I said I wanted large curls but Long insisted I do medium. He said if I do large it’ll fade sooner but I was okay with that… the second thing that bothered me is that he used the razor technique which is very damaging to hair. After the perm my hair was fried! I do have color treated hair. So for the past month I’ve been using various products and conditioners to get it soft and less tangled and nappy. The luster from my hair faded too so I have to use shine spray. I’ve heard of a newer technique called air perm but I doubt I’ll perm my hair again. It’s not worth the damage it did for me! It may not have that same effect on you. My biggest gripe here is that I didn’t get big curls and my hair got razored. But the price is good because it also includes a haircut and the perm is supposed to last about 3 months. If you do go for the perm just keep in mind there’s some maintenance and it may dry out or damage your hair.

If you have flat lifeless hair you should consider getting a digital perm with Long. He’s been doing it for over 10 years, very knowledgable and gives you clear instructions on how to style and maintain the curls. If you’re hesitant like I was don’t worry the chemicals don’t even touch your scalp. Pricing was fair and you should expect to be there for at least 3 hours. Long deserves the 5 stars because he made me feel and look like a million bucks!

I’m giving Long five stars for being so flexible when I didn’t have much time, for the great cut and perm. Great customer service and he knows what he is doing!
I flew home a few days before Christmas and contacted Long because I wanted a digital perm. He was wonderful in finding an opening for me with my restricted schedule. I loved the cut that came along with the perm. His process was exactly the same as described in the other reviews.
I had to learn how to style my perm as I have never had one and have very straight, long, thick hair… Long offered multiple times to have me come back in to go over styling again (he did show me while I was there) when I reached out to let him know I was having a difficult time but since I live in another state it was not possible. I finally figured out how to style it and love it when I have time to do so.
I do have to say, for me, the perm was not as easy as reviews on other websites made it sound to style. It takes me a looooong time to blow dry. But like I said I absolutely love it when I have time to style it!

I been wanting to have a digital perm… I went to one of the salon on Bolsa n got the worse digital perm ever… make me so mad… then I searched on Unilocal and found styles Long… best decision ever… went to Long n asked if he could fix my hair, n he did… He took his time n give me the digital perm that I want… n a nice hair cut on top of that.. will come back to Long for all my future perm n cut.

I did somee research on digital perms and after scouring Unilocal for decent places. I came across Long. My digital perm was awesome. Long took really good care of me and educated me a lot about my hair. The pricing was very fair. Overall, I am happy with the results and would come back when its time for a touch up

I went to Long today to get a digital perm. He took one look at my thick course hair and knew exactly what to do. He thinned my hair, shaped my hair, then hooked me up to a machine that made me look like a Jedi! My curls came out soft and natural looking. He made the process so easy and the results were beyond my expectations. He even showed me different ways to wear my new curls and how to style it. Go to Long if ya want a great hair style I have been coming to him for a year and half now and always leave the salon feeeling amazing. He always knows what I like he’s quick and very reasonable and a great guy.

Long has really good price on digital perm. I haven’t found anyone who has a better price. Don’t go to a Korean salon they’ll charge you an arm and a leg. I’ve done 3 digital perms with him and leave happy every time. And he gives you a free haircut for every person you refer to him.

This guy is an artist. He is really good at making hair look natural to the cut. Long uses innovative techniques that layer and style the hair that is «Oscar ready.» He doesn’t talk a whole bunch because he is fully focused on the design. I have recommended dozens to him and he has proven his unique professionalism through and through. I’ve been coming to Long for a few years and never once was my cut less than absolutely satisfying. I dont get typical haircuts. I’m usually using differnt colors and contemporary short haircuts. Long is always in the «know» for the latest style or whatever you want. I usually show him a picture and he replicates it exactly!
