IHOP

Customer service is absolutely HORRIBLE. They are so rude! Won’t give you the time of day either. Upright disrespectful. Will never be back and hope you won’t either.

I like to come here literally because of the outside patio haha. I don’t even like pancakes, or breakfast food for that matter, but the little outside patio is what sells me. And really– there’s nothing special about it, I just like that I can sit and people watch I think. Hahahah.
The patio server is soooo sweet, she always remembers me and I don’t even come here very often. The food is inexpensive & you get what you expect from ihop :)
Street parking is available right outside the door, but there’s also a parking structure a few steps down.

Super quick! I had a 30m break before work and got a coffee fries and chicken and waffles. The host/​server was really good about being time efficient and thorough. She offered me a coffee to go, and everything I needed before I even asked for it. It wasn’t crowded and had good environment ^_^

Why dont I ever learn. This place sucks. Never been to ihop and left happy. But I’m the idiot who keeps going back right.

The location is great of course, food is pretty typical for IHOP. The staff is usually friendly, evening not as much, the drink refills are painstakingly slow for water or paid beverages. They did away with the carafe of orange juice, I loved that deal! Now it is the same as every other place, $ 4 for a glass of $ 0.75 orange juice they got from a carton or bag, ugh, another change made for the bottom line, so American. That’s about it, decent food, decent staff, and less orange juice (I’m not that torn up over it but it’s funny) pretty much cover it.

Came in at 1 in the morning to get a late bite. We were seated right away and the server gave us our menus and walked away. Was surprised when 5 mins went by before our drink order was taken… By the busser. To top it off, his exact words were «do you want a drink?» It was off to see only 1 server working at 1 in the morning when there is a block full of bars along the same street as their location. It wasn’t very busy but it seemed like the server Marco wasn’t in rush to check on everyone. We took our food to go since it just seemed like it would take awhile to get anything. Food was good though. At check out the server charged me for the wrong order, did not even have a chance to look at the check and tell him he was charging the wrong check. He had to refund that charge and then charge me for the right order. Will update once I check my account to make sirens wasn’t double charged

Had a great breakfast outside, and our server Rosa was extremely pleasant and very attentive!

You gotta love Ihop’s fancy pancakes and french toast! Just ordered the Bacon Omelette with a side of Cinnamon pancakes with a white chocolate coffee. Nice servers and managers too!

Everything we come here we have great service. It is always packed because of the downtown location but you won’t notice by have fast you get seated. If you are downtown you need to grab some grub here at IHOP.

The gf and i only came here for some hot chocolate the other day. I noticed that the size of the cup was smaller than the ihop close by where we live but the same price? There was ALOT of whipped cream, if youre into that lol but the hot cocoa tasted alright

I hop, after decades of pancake goodness you are starting to be phased out. I used to think IHOP was on top of the pancake game, but lately the mom and pop pancake shops are starting to dismantle the House of Pancakes. Anywho enough nonsense and on to the goods. This spot is good for when you are walking down main and have a hankering in for some olé I HOP. The staff is a little light, our waitress was serving pretty much the whole place. They should hire more staff when things get crazy. We chose to eat outside, Cause hello it’s the beach. The staff was good and accommodating. They had a burger lunch special which was a really great deal. It might not be the most original grub on main street but it’s semi budget friendly and good for a person and their fam.

The chocolate chip pancakes are/​were the bomb! The pancakes themselves were soft to the core (but not mushy soft), and the chocolate chips? Well, let’s just say they were sweet. :) The chorizo and eggs? Man, I haven’t had chorizo & eggs since 6^th-​8^th grade when I was in military school. The place was empty like a ghost town, I’ll give you that, but at least there was someone to help me, and the service was great. I’ll definitely come back, but this time… for the stuffed crepes. :D

I’m one who believes that when you are part of a National chain, your food should be pretty similar to another store in the chain. And when taking people to eat there and you speak highly of a restaurant you would hope it fits the national chain mold.
I took two very good friend who had traveled from across the pond to visit California and me, to iHop. Luckily it wasn’t to visit the iHop in Huntington Beach. I should have taken the hint when all the other restaurants where full and the iHop was empty. My friends like bland food, and some of the places on Main love to season their foods extra spicy or not the norm.
My one friend ordered toast and coffee for lunch, and my other friend ordered a crunchy, chicken salad. Not too much to mess up unless you skimp on the chicken and overload on the lettuce. Okay we can handle that, but I ordered the Spinach and Mushroom Omelette with Hollandaise Sauce. I hope I can post the pictures of my omelette. Someone in the kitchen doesn’t know how to make Hollandaise Sauce. I didn’t know until I got home that Hollandaise Sauce curdles. I wondered why it tasted so bad and why I got so sick when I got home. It will be the last time I will each at that specific iHop. To the manager, «GET A NEW COOK.» Check out the pictures. The dish is so wrong.

Amazing crepes!!! Okay, well maybe not amazing, but for $ 10 bucks heck yeah! The service is friendly, the food is as good as expected for ihop, and the outside patio is great for people watching in downtown HB.

I was extremely disappointed in this location I had high hopes an was expecting great vibes sense I an at the beach instead I was greeted by a rude manager who didn’t care about his position at all an then as we sat ab waited to be served the employees were walking around dressed sloppy an rudely cursing in Spanish as if the customers couldn’t hear … if I was black the probably would have sat me in the back an made me cook for myself

Food was good (breakfast) it was a full house and service was excellent to my surprised. Because you don’t expect attentive service at a place like ihop. Very impressed with the servers especially with our waiter Jose. He kicked a$$ed and was awesome.

First Trip
It took a while to be seated. The other patrons, namely everyone under 30, were loud & somewhat annoying (drunk high school/​college kids).
The coffee wasn’t hot at all! We waited about forty-​five minutes before we decided to walk out. Never coming back at 8:30 on a Saturday night.
Second Trip
After calling & complaining to the manager, Sergio, he invited me back for a free meal, apologizing for what happened the previous Saturday. We were seated immediately, didn’t have to wait long for our drinks or for our order to be taken. Our server, Nancy, was very nice. It’s a much calmer atmosphere than the last time.
The food was excellent! Will come back!

I take my breakfasts seriously, so reviewing the ihop in downtown Huntington Beach is, well, hard. Very hard. Most of the restaurants DT have a ‘specialty’ they pull out for breakfasts, and hey, they are competing with the infamous Sugar Shack!
My dining friend LOVED the Swedish crepes at ihop, and that was why we were there (plus, I let him pick, dang it!) Since mistletoe was in the air, I tried the Egg Nog Pancakes Combo. I was pleasantly surprised to get two plates served that LOOKED JUST LIKE THE PICTURES ON THE MENU! Most chain restaurants spend a pretty penny primping those pics. I must say, the pancakes were delicious! SuperDuper Sweet, but that’s what they were supposed to be! I had asked for it!
I would strongly recommend you hit an ihop asap before these lil darlings are off the menu.

International House of Mumbo Jumbo
My now 13 year old (Teenager!) daughter wanted to eat at IHOP for her birthday breakfast. Okey dokey I told my princess, but lets go to one somewhere fun. So she and her younger sister load up in the family truckster.
Off we go to Surf City USA for some IHOP grub and a morning walk down the pier.
Parking sucks on Main street! But I found some metered stuff a couple of blocks away for $ 1.50 hr.
The hostess with the mostess (3XDD) seated us right away, as the IHOP is not very croweded for a Sunday morning but shortly the battle started.

Ding Ding Round One
MHAW. «Can mumble jou mumble drinks»
SHID. «Yeaa can we get 1 coffee and 2 hot chocolates?»
MHAW. «Mumble mumble… colate mumble café?»
SHID. «Yup 1 coffee and 2 hot chocolates please»
MHAW. «Mumble» and walks away
Surprisingly MHAW comes back with the right stuff to drink.
Ding Ding Round Two
MHAW. «Mumble jou ready oder?»
SHID. «Uhh sure the she’ll (point to little one) have the Kids French Toast an»…
MHAW. throws me an uppercut «Fresh toes?»
SHID. «Yes she’ll have he kids French toast and she (pointing to the birthday girl) will have the Cinnastack pancakes and I’ll have an omelet, the Bacon Temptation omelet» …
MHAW. (hits me with a right cross) «Mumble jou wan mumble toes or panke wit u egg mumble ess jou choise?»
SHID … «I’ll take the panke err the pancakes» she was gettin inside my head now.
I went to the restroom between rounds and caught MHAW in her corner and told her it was my older daughters birthday and asked if they could put a candle in her pancakes or something special like that.
MHAW. «Sur mumble I do it»
A tittle while later I spot MHAW and a busboy bringing out food and one of the pancake stacks has a candle in it. Cool I thought. A couple of other waitresses and even 3XDD join them as they deliver the goods to another table with a large group of teenage boys sat and begin singing happy birthday to the the kid at the head of the table. He looks confused but the whole group joins in the IHOP birthday fiesta and sings along! I overhear one of the kids excitedly saying «hey dude its not your birthday! (Ten succesive kidney shots weaken me)
Ding Ding Round Three
Finally our food comes out no candle, no fanfare. (low blow by MHAW unnoticed by refs)
MHAW. «jou got de cinistack» as she hands me the birthday girl’s food
SHID. «No that’s hers» as I hand it over to my daughter
MHAW. «Den jou got the fresh toes?» as she gets daughter #2’s right
MHAW. «Jou got de mumble and oast»
SHID. «NO I ordered the pancakes with my omelet» (3 jabs to nose)
MHAW. «skuse me, I bring panke bac»
SHID. «Can I get some more coffee and a couple of waters too?»
MHAW. «Shu» walks away
Ding Ding Round Four
MHAW. 5 min later she comes to table with pancakes «How jour food mumble jou like?»
SHID. «Its OK, how about that COFFEE & Water?
MHAW. «Soree I forget» walks away mumbling (another low blow)
MHAW. Brings coffee and water sets it down and leaves, saying nothing.
Ding Ding Round Five
SHID. «Can I get a check please, I’m in a rush?»
MHAW. «Shu, Mumble» Walks away
After 10 Min (hard right to the chin almost knocks me out) I go to 3XDD and ask if she can help get my check.
She comes back and I pay and leave a 3 cent tip for MHAW. (knock out blow by me!)
Walk back to my Truck and just miss getting a ticket as the Meter Maid Officer is checking meters 4 cars away and mine had expired a couple of min. earlier. I luckilly made it by the skin of my teeth.
FOOD:
All three meals were OK standard IHOP fare. 3***Stars
SERVICE:
Some of the worst service I’ve ever had. I’d give negative if I could, so. 1*Star
RESTAURANT: Clean and nice, nothing special 3***Stars
I’ll NEVER RETURN!
