I’m an actress and have worked with Lori on over a dozen shoots. She is an awesome makeup artists. I can always trust that she will help me look my very best. She’s especially good at smokey eye, not to mention, she’s super upbeat and fun to work with. Lori does makeup for Housewives of Orange County, anyone who deals with those divas has got to be a pro!

I first met Lori at Crush Studios where she did my make-​up for a photo session. She did a great job and I was pleased with her work. My boyfriend’s little sister, Kelly, saw me later that day and loved my make-​up as well. At the time Kelly was about to graduate from beauty school, working her way to becoming a make-​up artist. Since we were both impressed by Lori’s work and her background, I thought a make-​up lesson with Lori would be a great way for Kelly to interface with a successful, real working make-​up artist and finally get a real make-​up lesson (something she wasn’t getting in beauty school).
I had a hard time getting in touch with Lori, but when I was able to we began discussing this proposal. When price came up, I was bothered when she mentioned that Crush Studios paid her $ 500 a day on the weekends, whereas we had agreed on $ 300 based on the price she had outlined on her site for a lesson ($ 250) and considering travel expense (additional $ 50) for her to drive from Long Beach to Oceanside to make a house call.
She penciled me in for a Saturday and I went to confirm the date with Kelly and her stepmom. Later that day I confirmed that everyone would make it for Saturday but received a follow-​up email from Lori saying that she had booked a tv show that same Saturday and needed to reschedule. I scrambled to re-​contact Kelly and her stepmom to figure out an alternative date. I got in touch with Lori again and she didn’t respond to me for over a week (which coincidentally happened to be the same day I created a Unilocal profile for her).
Overall, I felt really slighted. I ended up making arrangements with a different make-​up artist who also had to reschedule with me because she booked a music video, but she made a point to get in touch with me to make the lesson happen, and she went above and beyond during the lesson she gave.
