Came here for a late night snack. Took 50 minutes to get my food. Could of cooked it at home better. For the prices they charge it’s not worth a 50 minute wait.

I literally stopped eating any other food for a week after i ordered my first sandwich from My Hero Subs, I have made my way through there menu os sandwiches and the way they melt cheese over the bread and prepare the sandwich makes it taste sooo good, the service is super as well, they are my hero in the sandwich realm, go, do whatever you can to stop by and have a sandwich or sub when your in surf city!

Best to call ahead instead of just walking in because they take their time to make a perfect sandwich. Best meatball sub I’ve evr had

Can’t get through on the phone. I’m not sure they are still in business in this location.

Good food for the price but I’ve requested they figure out their phone service issue more than once now. I’ve tried calling numerous times to either no one answering, going to an inbox that’s full, or a busy tone when they’re open for business and not even using the phone. Super frustrating when trying to phone an order ahead because I don’t always have the time to wait for my sandwich to be made. I love the buffalo chicken and meatball pepperoni I just wish that it was easier to place an order. Not sure why I keep having phone issues with them. I call the number listed on this Unilocal page.

I do a lot of cycling and a lot of times I go through Main st. I’ve been eyeing this place for a few months and decided to try it. Ever been to Jimmy Johns? It used to be my favorite sandwich place but can only be found in Nor. Cal. and other states. MHS is my new favorite! The knuckle sandwich, 6″ WILL fill you up! The bread is perfect, the service is great.

i’ve gone there about 10 times now, their subs range from«okay» to «good», nothing great. even their knuckle sandwich wasn’t great. they’ve messed up too much, in my opinion to really be a 4 – 5 star restaurant though. I’ve seen them mess up twice now, out of my ten times going there: I call in an order, they say ten minutes, so I go there in ten, but guess what, they didn’t write my order down or even worse, they don’t have the meat to make my sandwich and they didn’t even bother to call me to let me know. I work in the area and can take as much time as i want for lunch, but wasting my ten minutes is equivalent to wasting my money! everyone has caller ID now a days, or even *69 or whatever, but they didn’t bother to call me and have ruined two lunch times, out of ten. so, i don’t think they deserve my business, and i know others who feel the same. I would suggest going to either coach’s gourmet deli(a block away, by starbucks) or starbucks, depending on quality vs cheap. hero falls somewhere in between, not great, not cheap. update: Ok, I hear about this place from my co-workers. here’s what happened today, 4 people walk in, only one guy making subs and doing the register, the others hanging out in back, probably taking their own lunches. seriously, do they not care about their customers? it took my coworkers 20 – 30 to all get their subs.

Nice. There’s a lot of places to eat in HB and I’ve eaten at all of them several times over. However, somehow I missed this little gem, mainly because I thought it was just the ice cream place it shares the store with. Well kids, you all need to get your fill for your deli belly. Simple would be an understatment. I had the knucklehead or knuckle-something sub and even saved it for breakfast(I was a bit to drunk to eat it that night, lol). Regaurdless it was fantastic. Most day-later subs get soggy an lose their fresh taste. However this one was like it was just constructed. I’m told to try the meatball sub. I will. Go on Groupon and save(a non-paid advisement, lol). Chances I’m going to do few times a week. Enjoy! Oh, BTW: Great people skills to the emps.

It’s a higher end Subway. The difference is you don’t choose what comes on it because the menu is fixed. You could probably add some stuff for extra, but you’ll probably order something that has all the stuff you want on it anyways so the point is moot. I liked this place. Especially at 2am when I was totally smashed(a lot of my recent reviews tend to be when I’m hammered… not sure if I like this trend). The people working were surprisingly nice and the girl working the register was exceptionally helpful and friendly despite having to deal with drunk person after drunk person(myself included). I probably would have gotten over it but she seemed to be friendly with everyone strolling up and asking«what should I get»? ad nauseum. If I recall correctly, I got a Super Cheese Steak something or other that came with a ton of fresh roast beef, melted cheese, avocado(what I needed), and some veggies. The french roll it comes on is delicious and buttered to perfection. Since I wanted to make mine spicier they gave me a side of Frank’s Red Hot which was a nice touch to my already yummy sando. This place is just getting started and for anyone who’s been to Huntington late night looking for some drunk grub(or regular grub for that matter), I would say come here. It was cheap(7 bucks for a footlong I destroyed in a couple of minutes) and it sure as hell beats getting one of those gyros at the liquor store under Hurricane’s. You also don’t feel as bad the next day for having eaten it.

This place is pretty good and the people working there are awesome. Ate here the entire summer for lunch. Try…try…TRY the knuckle sandwich. It’s a sandwich packed with anything and everything they have. Did i mention it’s HUGE! Another favorite of mine is the salami sandwich. Very tasty. Fast service, friendly staff, and very laid back atmosphere. Been eating here ever since they opened…

HOLYHERO’S!!! Thanks scoop on cookies for adding My Hero Subs! This new addition is so good it deserves a parade! Ok fine I will settle for a line around the block… NO? Ok how about a 5 star review that I hope creates a line around the block??? I kid you not My Hero sub’s are incredible… *looks left… right and whispers* I think they are going to give coaches a run for their money this summer! «$ 6.50» — said the awesome guy at the counter «Oh I’m sorry I wanted a 12′ Italian sub adding pepperoncini, and black olives» «yup, its $ 6.50» It could have been angel’s singing or KIISFM playing in the back round but at that moment all I could hear were the words«6.50» chanting like a choir in the back of my head… I have found hero heaven. Pepperoni, Capicola, salami, and provolone with lettuce, tomato, black olives, pepperoncini’s, and oil & vinegar… Also their bread was fresh and really soft. This is my new sub shop! Simple but flavorful and not overkill! I realized after I was eating it, this sub is not on the menu! So just act like you know what your talking about and order the Italian… You can’t go wrong! Did I mention they deliver locally??? Also they open at 1am on fri and sat night for all the hungry booze hounds!!! I know these guys are going to blow up downtown so before that line around the block happens let me go get another Italian!

OMG where do I start! So many good items on the menu, all winners! Everytime I go in I have to try a different sammich and the salads… No where else you can really get a good sammich in the area. Move aside gyros cause HEROS are where its at! The Knuckle sammich is amazing, must have. The Ultimate Cheese Steak is right up my alley. Thats right they add bacon and avocado to your cheese steak! MotherfukinHEAVEN! Antipasto salad. EPIC quality fresh greens. Best Ive had PERIOD Ive gone twice in the past 48 hours and im already drooling thinking about what sammich im going to try next. I HEARTMYHEROSUBS!

Great deals, friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere and delicious sandwiches! Its about time Main Street stepped up their game with a good sandwich shop. To think this shop just opened a couple of weeks ago, I can’t wait to see how they develop. So far i’ve tried the knuckle sandwich, turkey bacon avacado and the meatball sub. Have not been disappointed by any and a 6″ has been more than enough food. Fresh bread, crisp veggies and tasty meats sliced on location(had to ask, they were that good). I’m in LOVE! Best part about My Hero is they are open late Thursday to Saturday for the bar crowd. Go grab a sub after last call, your hangover will thank you in the morning. ANDTHEYDELIVERLOCALLY!

Cruised over during my lunch break to check out My Hero Subs. I’d usually head to Subway, but heard from a fellow intern that My Hero Subs was really good. So the atmosphere was simple and the workers were very friendly, which was a plus. I saw a sign that said, «Try the Knuckle Sandwich.» So, being that it was my first time ever going to My Hero Subs I ordered the Knuckle Sandwich 6″ for $ 5.49. Another plus, the price was well worth it. Th Knuckle Sandwich consists of: Mortadella, Salami, Ham, Turkey, Roast Beef, Mayo, Lettuce, Tomato, Italian Dressing, Swiss & Provolone Cheese, and Pickles & Pepperoncinis. I’m seriously getting hungry just writing this review because the Knuckle Sandwich was way better than any Footlong sandwich I had bought at Subway. Not only was the 6″ Knuckle Sandwich really flavorful, it also filled me up. My Hero Subs in Huntington Beach is the first place I’ve ever given 5 stars in a Unilocal Review, but I felt like they definitely deserved it. They’ve got my business.
