Regular customer here. Before the price was okay but now it’s very expensive compared to other pizza brands. The quality of the pizza has decreased significantly.

pizza took 2 hours from when i placed the order online. although not cold, i can tell my order has been sitting under a heating lamp for some time. called in to management to complain. he only offered to cancel my order. i’m hungry… i’ve been waiting. not looking to cancel but i want something done to at least make me feel better like a discount or offer for future discount. i had to ask for it. poor customer service and i’m not happy with the product at all.

Pizza was 30 minutes late and ice cold. I was promised a discount with my next order, which I said was unlikely to happen, but was guaranteed that my receipt was in the office and I just needed to call in. That was less than a week ago. Just called and was told they couldn’t find my receipt(it was an online order) and there was nothing th they could do for me. Will never order Papa John’s again.

Good thing marketing works. Shame on Peyton Manning for associating with this place. Probably a step below little cesars pizza. Tuly crappy pizza. Probably the worst pizza in Huntington Beach.

manager here is super cool I ordered a pizza for pickup on Halloween night(Sat). put my order in at 7:05pm for 7:45pm pickup. they took my name and phone number. showed up at 7:50pm and they could not find my order. without me asking the nice cashier called over the manager. he tried to help by looking up my order again and said he was sorry. manager said they were super busy and they could put in another pizza, only 10m so I said no problem ‘I would wait.‘ manager said ‘no charge, because they screwed up.’ I smiled and thanked him. manager was great; assisted a customer, did not blame his staff, offered a reasonable explanation, and turned a mistake into a happy customer. great customer service here. I will be coming back for sure.

I ordered a Kickoff Large with pepperoni and onions with ranch on the side the other night, and unfortunately, I had a couple of BIG mishaps: 1) Who the hell put CARRY-OUT instead of DELIVERY when I asked for DELIVERY??? And whoever put«carry-out» on the pizza box had even put it UNDERTHEWRONGNAME??? Then, there’s a problem with the delivery driver — Not only he gave me the wrong change, he asked the wrong amount(I told them it was a [Large Kickoff Pizza for $ 10]), the receipt said $ 19 something — which lead me to Reason #2: 2) The delivery driver gave me the wrong amount for my change. The driver gave me $ 2.00 in change when I was supposed to get $ 6.50.(no tip for the driver) 3) And when I opened up the box, I saw red pepper packets, NORANCH! When I ESPECIALLYREQUESTED«ranch on the side.» Look, Papa J.‘s — I’ve been ordering your pizzas from you for a few years now, and after what has happened the other night, you just slid downhill in terms of service… and you slid downhill FAST. I’m not giving you my business anymore.

I don’t even know what happened, considering how just a few weeks ago, after multiple visits — I gave them five stars. Ugh. My last two stops here have been just unbelievably terrible. I’ve worked in customer-service jobs growing up, so I have empathy for places if they fall short of service, but my last two experiences here went beyond what I felt was acceptable for businesses coming up short of what I consider to be a «decent» interaction. My new one-star review actually comes as a result of two back-to-back«negative» experiences — both occurring within the last week. First bad experience happened last Friday, July 10th. I walked in to find the place buzzing with employees. I had placed my order online 20 minutes earlier. I live close enough to where I’m used to placing my order, and then hopping in my car to pick the pizza up — usually by that time, the pizza being ready. That wasn’t the case here. I got there and the employee told me that they were still prepping my pizza. So I took the opportunity to ask him to make sure there was pineapple on my pizza, since the last few times I was there, despite paying for the pineapple toppings, there wasn’t any on the cooked pizza. After waiting another 20 minutes(at this point, 40 minutes since the time my order was placed online) — the clerk hands me my pizza. By instinct — especially after my previous two times there — I ask to check the pizza before leaving with it — sure enough, the prepper forgot to put in pineapple(again, these extra toppings are printed on the receipt and the side of the box — these are also extra, so its not like I don’t pay for them). In goes another 20 minutes waiting for the pineapple to be added — the clerk tells me they can’t just give it to me raw — does not make sense, seeing how pineapple can be eaten raw. In any case, at this point, I’ve waited a total of ONEHOUR since the time I placed my order online. I was disappointed, since I typically write in a $ 3.00 tip onto the receipt even in CARRYOUT orders. It was too late at that point for me to revoke that tip since I had already paid nearly 40 minutes ago. NO apology was offered or even explanation regarding the error. Hoping July 10th was an isolated experience, I placed an order on PJ’s website on Tuesday July 14th. The major difference this time around — I was placing on what is considered an «off-peak» day and also time — I placed my order around 9:15PM. Again, from the time I placed my order to hopping in the car and commute time — a good 20 minutes or so has passed. All the other times I had placed my order here — well over 10 or so times — this was more than enough time for me to get my pizza made. I walked in — and three employees were working — not one person acknowledged me. Not a problem, I walked up to the register. And waited. And waited. And waited. I must’ve stood there for nearly 15 minutes(no exaggeration, after all, it’s not like my phone can’t tell time) before someone even walked up to the counter — and that person didn’t even acknowledge me — he was handing two pizzas to someone else who had been waiting there. No apology, no «thank you for waiting»(zero customer service at this point). I inquired about my order — guy states they were still prepping my pizza. At that point in time, considering my experience last Friday — I should’ve taken that as a sign and just told him to cancel. I foolishly said nothing — but the fact is at that point, I felt something was seriously up with this location. Last Friday wasn’t a fluke — even though they had more employees working at that time, there was less this time around, but it wasn’t even peak time. So I sat on their bench and waited. The customer right behind me apparently had also ordered her pizza online — well before my order — and they didn’t even bother making her pizza. Someone either gave her order away or didn’t bother making it — I overheard the entire exchange — no apology was offered and she literally walked out frustrated. The entire time I was waiting, the PREPPER was on his personal cellphone — yapping away to god knows who. It was a personal conversation — not work related. And obviously had some impact on pizzas not being made on time(or at all). Very disappointed in my experience here. I thought 07⁄10 was an isolated event, but apparently not the case with my experience on 07⁄14. I DONOT recommend this location anymore. Please overlook my previous two reviews where I gave them high marks. One-star if that, is what they deserve. Considering the area, there are literally 5 other pizza places within a 1-mile radius of this location. You DONOT need to put up with their pathetic customer service — rude or unaware clerks, orders being late/incorrect — or not being made at all, when there is competition literally minutes away. Until corporate or management steps up and implements changes, get your pizza fix elsewhere.

Today on June 26, 2015 at 5:30. I went in to pick up a pizza. They had at least 10 employees on shift. They have three registers in the front but only one was open. They had a line to the door. Only one guy was running around trying to do everything. The phone rang over and over and not one employee would answer it. One girl stood by the register just standing there and finally the guy who was making the doe answered it. They seriously need some management there. I get home open my pizza box and there’s dried banana peppers on the side of my pepperoni pizza not sure what that was about.

The man that works the front desk literally saved me from being stranded on the side of the road. I remember eating papa johns back home on the east coast all the time. But I have never been met with this generosity. I am often saddened by the world we live in but this man restored my faith in humanity. Not only did he watch my jeep on the side of the road. But he allowed me to drive his Mercedes to get get gas down the road so I didn’t have to run there with my car on the roadside. I am just floored by his willingness to help a complete stranger. There are good people out there.

I’ve experienced better indeed, this location is terrible with delivery. It is always an hour average compared with pizza hut bring about 25 minutes, so they often win because of that. I don’t like how they use some toppings, like Canadian Bacon gets cut into julienne strips that you pay some $ 4 for and get maybe three pieces cut up on the pizza. If I could get delivery from another store I would.

Best Papa John’s location by far. I have ordered carry out 3 times and every time my pizza was hot fresh delicious perfection(which was not the case for the beach Blvd loc). The staff is friendly and professional every time. Keep up the great work!

Papa Johns motto is Better Ingredients, Better Pizza and i do see how the people working there are trying their hardest to make the customers happy. Its a shame they dont have a tip jar. I love the chicken poppers that they offer here. Especially well done. They also have cheese sticks which are AMAZING. Cant wait to order again. Keep up the good work.

First time ordering from this place. Never had their pizza. I’ve been waiting for two hours to get my pizza as I sit here and write this review. I am 2 blocks away from their location. What a piece of shit place. I can’t believe you can stay in business with the shitty service and your incompetence of getting your orders straight. After 45 mins of waiting, I called and the manager claimed that the delivery guy came to my place but didn’t know where I was because they didn’t have my number… if only the girl taking the order on the other line was bright enough to take my number down. The manager told me he would get me another pizza and would get it delivered as a priority… Here I am, two hours later and still no pizza… Peyton Manning — I’m a huge fan… you should be embarrassed endorsing for this company. Franchise Owner of this establishment — I’m surprised you’re not doing anything about the bad reviews. Service is everything in your business however I don’t believe you give a shit.

Loved the service. I just walked in and ordered and my two large pizzas were done in 15 minutes. Pizza was delicious! I told my family, don’t bother me, I’m enjoying this tasty, tender and yummy pizza. Double thumps up

Wow. This place has really gone downhill. Papa johns used to be good. One more pizza joint down the shithole. You are now in the same class as dominoz, little cesars and pizza hut, good job papa johns. Way to run a business!

First time having pizza delivered from this location, I was told it would take 40 minutes to be delivered. After about an hour I started to get a little frustrated so I looked out the window to see the delivery man a ways down the walkway get back into his car and drive away from my house. I call papa johns and ask for them to have him call me so I can explain where I am at. After another 30 minutes I see him walking around my complex looking lost. I run after him as he goes to get back into his car. He then claims the GPS was sending him somewhere else. I ask him while he didn’t call me after the first time he got lost, he said he didn’t even think about that. Ok well I get the pizza and giant cookie I ordered and both were cold. He also says he forgot the extra garlic sauce and asked if I minded. Well yeah I paid for it so yeah I do mind. Food tasted fine except the fact that it was cold… Can’t blame the restaurant 100% for a crappy delivery man. Food tasted fine but the delivery man should probably stick to coloring.

Very small Papa John’s. It’s mostly for pick up. The service is usually great, but once in a while when they get very busy and the service will be slow. I actually like their thin crust pizza here better than the original! They make it very crispy and garnish it with the perfect amount of sauce/toppings. I tried their online ordering because of a cheap online only deal, but it got confusing cause I like to do a lot of customization to my pizzas so when I called in they said they can’t give me the online price, but can give me a deal similar which I was disappointed, but at least they try. They also don’t overdo the cheese here and the pizzas aren’t as greasy as pizza hut! I recently tried their chicken poppers and those are sooooo good! It’s a great alternative for chicken nuggets at mc donald’s because these are baked not fried! They give you choices of sauces for the chicken poppers and my fav are the pizza sauce & honey mustard. Usually when I get home though I’ll just dip them in the sweet & sour sauce from Mc Donald’s :) These are big white meat chicken poppers not like the crappy overly breaded ones at KFC
