What a absolute joke the trash system has become! There is a trash truck that comes thru our alley everyday of the week Mon-​Fri! Tues its ALLDAY LONG! I watched a truck just come barreling thru the alley way too fast and NOT SAFE! And he got 4 out of 16 trash cans, 5 min later another emptys the recyclyes, then one for the green cans, then one for the big trash bin. HOW RIDICULOUS! I know lets get a different trash truck for every trashcan in Huntington Beach, then you can hire another 5,000 minority!!! So disgusted with Rainbow if I could leave no stars I would, its VERY DISRUPTIVE!!! AND SHOULD BE A CITY ISSUE… ITS DISTURBING THE PEACE!

A joke! No street address, no sign specifically for cans and bottles and all the workers just stare at you as you drive around aimlessly to figure your way around the facility not to mention huge lines and after waiting in said line turns out your in the wrong one! Pissed…

It is difficult to actually give a review of this company. I live in a condominium and do not know when they pick up the refuse. I do have a problem when they send a mailer to me in Spanish. I find it wasteful and presumptuous that I am Hispanic and read Spanish. They could save some money and possibly save me some money by not wasting it on unnecessary and unreadable newsletters or whatever it is they have sent me.

If I could give no stars I would, I called and set for a pick up and payed the $ 25.00 they charge and they never came to pick up my item. It’s horrible for them to take your money and not pick up the item like they said they would also they even give you a day and times they would be here and they still can’t do their job. Really pisses me off!

I’ve used the household hazardous waste disposal service (Gate 6) many times and your employees are usually rude and nasty. They bark out orders and talk to you like you are a piece of garbage. You need to teach your employees some manners and customer service skills.

There is a really amazing route supervisor at rainbow, I believe his name is Cesar. He is so awesome and always goes above and beyond for his customers. If there is ever a problem with our service or we need a special bin or pick up, I ask for Cesar. He always has great suggestions and provides the best service. (Not bad looking either)!!

You have to pay to throw away your fucking trash ?! WTF this is America and this is why we have dumping problems lol. Who the hell would want to pay. 25 $ minimum to throw away 1 little vacuum.

I would like to give this company a review of 1 star and if I could I would not give them anything due to their dishonesty and malpractice with their employees.
Rainbow Disposal, as many of us know it, has been highly admired for it’s employee ownership and green practices. But what many of us don’t know is that in the past 6 years Rainbow’s Board of Directors have let their greed influence them and taken their dishonesty to another level. Many of us don’t realize that it is the labor force that makes companies like these succeed better yet make them reach their financial goals.
My father has been an employee for over 20 years at Rainbow Disposal, more than 20 years of dedication and hopes of one day accomplishing his American Dream. An America Dream that all of us have different definitional values. A hard working individual who gives it his 110% percent to all his assignments, influential to his family and honest man to his superiors. All these years my dad had dedicated his life to this job, missing family events to meet labor quotas set for him while also making us aware than sooner than later his retirement would pay off more than what we expected.
Many of us might careless what employees at Rainbow Disposal have or what type of lives they live, but we have to be conscious that even this disposal service is a service provided by a labor force consisting of employees who have families just like you and I. After years of hopes and dreams they all have been crushed by lies within individuals who have no relation in regards to what hard work consists of. A Board of Directors who decided to steal their employees retirement plans, plans that they have worked hard for over periods of time, not just brief moments of their lives. My father now is walking on eggshells unsure of what will take place in the next 3 years as he reaches his retirement age. Granted he is not solely depending on his job, just like any other patriotic American, he has invested in what this country can provide, real estate and education for his daughter and in some of the financial institutions, that even now, we don’t know to trust.
I just want to expose Rainbow’s real organizational practices to all those who are not aware and for those who believe in honest businesses, to think twice when making their donations or buying services from this place. To many of those who read past my review thank you, I, along with all of the Rainbow Employees who await patiently for an undetermined outcome for giving us some time to really understand the business.

Compared to CR&R these guys have higher rates, have missed trash pickup on 3 weeks out of the last 2 months, and employ customer service reps that can hardly speak english. This company is laughable at best.

This place sucks they claim that they are a have hazardous waste disposal on their site but when I go up to the gate it is owned by another company that only takes 15 gallons or 125 lbs per trip

I like rainbow because it’s right there in HB do close and convenient
But I don’t like rainbow because it’s do expensive comparing to other facilities about 50% more

Ok, I think it’s kind of weird that I am giving a trash/​hazardous waste/​recycling place 5 stars, but this place absolutely fascinates me! I don’t spend too much time thinking about household hazardous waste, but a recent slab leak leading to a remodel and repainting left me with stuff to dispose of properly. God knows I have been remiss in the past and tossed hazardous stuff into the trash can, but no more! This a huge facility and they do so much more than pickup your curbside trash. I went to Gate 6: Household hazardous material disposal. I only had 2 cans of paint to drop off, but they take so much more here: batteries, electronics – everything you shouldn’t throw in the trash at home. Do something good for the environment and find something to drop off here just so you can see the place! Lots of huge bins full of old TVs, pallets of old paint cans, guys in hazmat suits! Best of all, you don’t even get out of your car. Actually, because of all the hazardous waste you aren’t allowed out of your car, but I’m going to consider it first class curbside service! Friendly, efficient staff – and they’ll even give you a recycle bucket for your old batteries, just bring it back when it’s full. Check out their website to see everything else they do: stuff you don’t even think about but is necessary to keep our planet safe and livable for all of us.

Super great customer service! We needed a rent-​a-​bin and underestimated how much trash we had. I called back and spoke to Erin and she was so helpful and getting me what I needed — 2 more bins that day. The guy that delivered the bins was really nice too. Their trash service is great, customer service is great, and the price is pretty good too. It’s not often you can get all 3.

Car Guys: great Place to dump oil, radiator fluid. It’s all free, & help the environment! Beware: closed on Mondays

Love it is so easy to drop off batteries, lightbulbs, electronics and paint etc.

My son is obsessed with garbage trucks. After taking 3 individual tours, he wanted his preschool classmates to go as well. Teresa was so accommodating and I was able to schedule 4 different tours for his class (since they can only accommodate a total of 10 people on each tour). Everyone absolutely loved it and had a great time! Thanks Rainbow Disposal! :)

After numerous complaints via phone and the web they replaced our broken bins. I was going to give them 3 stars but I’ll give them 4 because I’m a regular at their CNG station.

Talk about a great member of the community! The folks at Rainbow were super helpful in setting up a tour for our family– my boys are super into those big garbage trucks and it was so fun to see them up close! Teresa was our go-​to girl and was super helpful all during our tour. It was a fun free outing for our family! Thanks Rainbow for all you do for our community, our earth and for taking the time to share with our family:)

I can not say enough great things about the employees of Rainbow Disposal. My son has severe autism and his obsession of going on 3 years is all things Rainbow Disposal. Everything around our house revolves around all things trash and trash truck related. All of the trash men are amazing to Lucky and never bitch even though we are constantly video taping them (he loves to watch the videos). They always have a smile and a wave for him and us. Recently the people of Rainbow Disposal were kind enough to take Lucky on a private tour of the dump and let him check out a few trash trucks up close and personal. Our wonderful tour guide Rochelle Groh couldn’t have been more helpful and nice. Lucky has not stopped talking about his visit ever since. Thank you Rainbow!

I used to know rainbow as the company that picks up my trash every Wednesday. Now, I know them as the company that is majorly involved in their community and continuously gives back. I’ve been involved in local charities for about five years now, and Rainbow has always been involved on just about every project or event. Props to them.
But besides giving back to their community, they also provide «environmental services» that I was totally unaware of. For instance, did you know you can bring things like your used motor oil, paint, or tv sets here for FREE hazardous waste recycling? Looking for compost? They have it! They also offer a program where you can go in and and get up to five used household, yard, or car care products — for FREE!
Their website has tons of information — check it out! It’s actually quite interesting and amazing that they are able to provide so many green friendly services.
