Ron Catt Auto Care

Car was driven over something in parking lot and afterwards made rattling noise because of loose guards on the undercarriage of the car. I thought they might need to be replaced, possibly even the bumper area. Looked on Unilocal for place nand saw good reviews of Ron Catt Auto Care. Drove it in and Ron took care of me himself. Popped guards back into place, tightened things up and said I could replace but we could just drive it as well. Didn’t charge me anything and I was out of there in half an hour. We will likely have them replace the guard anyway. And this shop is now our go to place for maintaining our cars.

Ron is great! I just needed my brake lights looked at/​repaired because they weren’t working. He took a quick look at it and was able to see what had gone wrong. They replaced a burnt out light and helped move around a socket that might be wearing down. He ended up doing it free of charge! Huge and pleasant surprise! I will definitely be back if I ever have any car troubles. Thank you Ron! 5 stars all the way!

I came to Ron Catt through a referral of a friend, but not before doing my research. I stand with others giving Ron Catt 5 stars. The shop deserves every 5 star review they have. I went to the shop with one engine problem and received maintenance on five or six different parts. Its important to state that Ron personally explained the why and how of each part in great detail. He made every decision I faced easy and I left every conversation knowing that I had place my car in good hands. When I picked up my car and drove it for the first time I immediately noticed change. It drives like new, better throttle response, smoother ride and handling. Do yourself a favor and bring your car/​truck to Ron and his staff.

I hate car problems! Found Unilocal reviews for Ron Catt and let me tell you, 5 star reviews were right on! Super friendly and accommodating. Just talking to him, you know he will do the job right and on time. I went in with an emissions warnings and an air conditioner that refused to blow cold air. Ron explained the entire process and gave me an estimate. When I went to pick up my totally repaired car, I was in for a SHOCK as the bill was LESS than the estimate. Holy cow! Talk about honest and a pleasant surprise! Ron also gave us a AAA discount. It doesn’t get any better than this. I’ll be taking my car to Ron Catt for all my mechanical problems and maintenance from now on.

After discovering Ron Catt Auto Care, I knew my search for a decent, trustworthy, honest garage was over. This place is real. They are upfront with me and when needed explain repairs so it is understandable to a lay person. I can’t tell you how excellent it feels to not worry about a mechanic trying to pull one over on me. I bought a new car about 7months ago and I am sooo beyond grateful for finding ron’s shop I had friends giving me numbers to shops that they use whenever i would ask them for suggestions on where to take my car for servicing but then AAA recommended Ron Catt’s shop and he is close to my work and also offered shuttle service so i could drop my car off on lunch and get a ride back and forth Ron was very honest and didnt tell me i needed any unneccesary or costly work done on my car, I now tell all of my friends about Ron Catt Auto Care. I was recommended by Prukop’s Auto Body which I’ve used in the past, to refer me to anyone who was trustworthy with transmissions. My 2005 Accord transmission went out at 72k miles and I was looking for a second opinion. Ron was amazing, kind, and helpful while asking nothing in return. My experience with Ron Catt was needlessly costly and horrible. I brought my suburban in for a check engine light and he diagnosed it as a bad fuel regulator. He asked me if I wanted him to look over the vehicle and provide an inspection. I was probably a bit too trusting because of the recommendations on Unilocal.The inspection was basically a cookie cutter list of items that any Chilton Auto Manual would provide you for your vehicle (he charged me $ 145). He asked me if I wanted the rear end serviced and informed me it would cost $ 60. He then showed me a video of the pinion gear and told me the rear end would need to be rebuilt for ~$ 1700. When I showed the video to another mechanic, the mechanic told me it was normal wear and tear for a vehicle of that age. I asked Ron to put the rear end back together and he said it would cost $ 150 (he neglected to inform me the fluid would cost $ 83). He replaced the fuel regulator and the entire experience cost me $ 500+.
Two days later the same engine code returned. I cut my losses and never returned to Ron Catt Auto Care, I suggest you do the same.

I took my Porsche in for and oil change and inspection. Ron kept me informed and up to date every step of the way with no pressure. He even spent time locating the best price on parts. Also got an Auto Club discount.

I’ve taken my car to Ron twice now for general maintenance and this place is awesome. They are right down the street from csulb, which helps me get to school right after I get my car fixed up. Ron and Elsa are super friendly and they answered every question I had, and emailed me pics of every repair they did. Ron also emailed me pics of repairs that should eventually be done to keep my car running. I saw Elsa give their customers a ride to work after they dropped their car off, and she offered to pick them up after work too, which was really awesome! The waiting room is super clean and they have water and coffee available for their customers, as well as a tv and comfy chairs.
Just a heads up, they do take some time to fix up your vehicle so they can inspect it and show you anything that might cause problems in the future. Definitely call to schedule an appointment, even if you just need an oil change, because these guys are crazy busy. Even with an appointment you could be waiting for a while, so either ask them for a ride when you schedule the repairs or be prepared to hang out in the comfy waiting room. The wait gives me time to drink all their coffee and wake up before school, so it doesn’t bother me. This place is awesome! Thank you Ron and Elsa!

I just moved to the neighborhood a few months ago. Last week I had major services done with both of my cars (1999 Camry and 2005 MDX).
Overall, it’s a great experience. The bottom line is that in addition to being super professional at what he’s doing, Ron is a very likable guy you feel you would like to have a beer with. He emailed me all the details with quotes before performing the tasks. The shop and waiting area were super clean and neat, reminding me of THE Volvo specialist in Torrance run by Scandinavians. The job was done perfectly and the charge was very reasonable. The invoice contains all the details.
Thanks for making my life a lot easier. Highly recommended.

I am writing this review for my father for service done on his Toyota Yaris a few times. The owner Ron greets him each time and is very understanding and caring. The technicians are very thorough and experienced. I even checked his receipts after just to see the work done and it was accurate and reasonable.
I greatly appreciate Ron and his team for taking care of our family cars. I will be taking my car there next for service.
Their waiting room and restrooms are always clean and comfortable. And Free Coffee too.
The amount of time it took for the service was very quick compared to other independent shops and especially a dealer.
