We’ve been coming here for 5 years and always had a great experience. We ate last night and they had opened even though the renovations weren’t complete. We didn’t care because the food is normally great. But WOWWASITAWFUL. We ordered the special, the Rib Eye and both ours were terrible. He ordered his medium and it tasted like it had been freezer burnt. I ordered mine Medium– well and it was CHARRED. We should have sent both back but we had guests with us and we bragged about how good the food normally is so we didn’t. Then the bill came and the crap steaks were $ 42-$ 45 bucks. Such a waste. Really disappointed in the lack of food experience. We can deal with the unfinished ambience but not bad food. Won’t be returning.

The remodel is really cool! Sorry. We are locals and want a nice place to go. But. We had the sliders(2 burgers), the wedge salad with bacon(it was less than ¼ a head of lettuce), a child’s dinner(chicken and fries). I had 2 Martinis and my friend had one draft beer and a red bull and vodka… The bill was 94.00!!! Waitress nice!!! Prices do not worth it!!! Will never go back!!! Too many other places to go and get a lot more for that amount!

Everything I have had there is amazing! I love the lemon chicken, all the steaks are amazing and the salads are to die for. Appetizers are amazing as well. My favorite are there champagne drinks. The antioxidant is the best one. They also have a pear one and s cranberry one which are also just as good. Service there is quick and always on there A game.

I was sad to arrive for dinner only to find them closed! Carpenters are working inside and out. Heartbroken.

Was here a few wks ago in search of the perfect brunch spot of my birthday… I had such high hopes. However, they were in the midst of remodeling. There were wooden planks covering where there should be glass outside the patio. Not the most attractive at the time, but I understand it was for safety sake. Also, there were open socket outlets throughout the place. The bathrooms were built awkwardly for the women. One room where you open the door and are only inches away from the toilet!!! Literally had to climb over the toilet to close the door! Food was pretty good, omelette station and waffles were good, wished there were more of a variety. The staff was great though!!! They were super friendly and helpful! Can’t wait to see how it’ll turn out after remodeling!

This place is okay. They are undergoing renovations right now so there is a lot of plastic covered exposed walls and only one of the four bathrooms were operational. So not ideal for a group or busy night until after the renovations are completed, otherwise you will just be waiting in bathroom lines the whole night. Went there for a group dinner and had a set beer tasting/eating menu. Overall the beers were good. It was a heavy meal as most of the beers were darker, but if you like beer and want to taste some different types, this is a good experience. Their well known for their coconut beer and it was very tasty. Most of the food we had paired with the meal was just so so, however the duck dish stood out as being better than the rest. Very tasty duck. I would say if you are just going for beer, this is a pretty good place to go to. Once the rennovations are complete, I am sure it will make the space look a lot better.

I really enjoyed this place! The eggs Benedict and endless mimosas for brunch were superb. The staff was friendly and helpful, when the sun started shining down about noon, the staff rearranged umbrellas even to have them cover the tables people were seated at, on the outdoor patio. The view of the beach from the balcony/patio was awesome, great atmosphere! The bar was nice inside, I’d be curious to try their happy hour!

Such a beautiful view and excellent customer service. The drinks are really good. The margarita flat bread was so good and the garlic bread was to die for! I like that they they allow dogs and have fire places outside. They are just pricey.

While the ambiance was amazing, the service and food was sub par. Not all of it mind you, but enough to warrant only three stars. Our server seemed to not be sure of what came with what. The sauce for my overcooked steak was eerily similar to A-1, and my scalloped potatoes were cooked to the point of mush. I will say, the calamari and shrimp were perfect, the rack of lamb was delicious and the cod was perfection. Overall… meh. They are also in the middle of a total remodel and staff change, so I would wait until that transition is complete before dining at Sparks

They are under new ownership as of the last week or so. I had never been there before, but they serve Kobe beef now and hands down had the best ribeye steak I have ever had. Ask for extra of the gravy type sauce they serve with it!

I would give a negative 5 star if I could. Service is slow and there is only 3 tables including us. Glass of water still had lipstick on. Took about 10 mins to get our drinks and 20 mins to get our appetizer 1 crab cake at $ 14. I ordered a medium rare steak and it came back well done. My husband’s soda took forever to be refilled his lobster and shrimp linguini tasted like tv — dinner food. I’m sorry i didn’t have time to read the other reviews before I went.

The food was special and delicious. We loved everything we ordered. Rib Eye steak, crusted Alasken Cod, seared Ahi Tuna, flat bread pizza with shrimp and pesto. We also ordered a meat and cheese tray as an appetizer, it was perfect and the sauces that came with it were delicious. We brought our 5 and 8 year old children. Our 5 year old ordered the chicken and rice from the kids menu which came with a fresh ice cream sandwich. Our 8 year old has a more sophisticated pallet so she ordered the shrimp and pesto flat bread from the regular menu. The one downside was the hostess. She seemed really unorganized and was very informal. It was strange to walk in to that and made me think we would be disappointed by unorganized staff the entire time but that was not the case. Our waitress was great and even laughed at my husband’s bad jokes.(Thank you) I was later told they are under new ownership which would explain the disorganization I suppose. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone though and will definitely go back.

Soooo sad! I absolutely love Spark for the brunch! They have an incredible buffet line set up, pancake lasagna(it’s amazing), fruit, bacon, sausage, eggs Benedict, etc… And an omelette station! And crêpe station! It’s amazing. Oh, and bottomless mimosas! Annnnd it all came crashing down. They have cancelled the buffet. Menu only brunch. Huge fail Spark. Bring back the buffet!

Laurie and I went to Spark for our 21st Anniversary. Food was outstanding… service was even better! A HUGE shout out to our server Robert who not only took great care of us, he was rip-roaring funny and aside from enjoying our meal immensely, we laughed through the whole dinner! I took note of some reviews of uninspiring service, but we experienced nothing like that while we were there. Everyone was very attentive, and that was with 3 large corporate groups in the restaurant. Laurie had the Lemon Chicken and I had the Pork Chop. The green apple/jalapeño demi glacé was nicely decadent. Warning: watch out for the garlic cheese bread appetizer… you could go nuts, order more and wind up with no room for dinner. This was our first time visiting Spark… it won’t be our last! Thanks for a nice anniversary experience!

I came here on a Saturday morning for a friend’s birthday brunch. It was raining so we sat inside with another large group, but otherwise it was pretty empty. On a nice day, I would recommend sitting outside to take in the view. Plus it can get pretty loud inside. I love me some Eggs Benedict, so I was excited that their brunch menu mainly focuses on «eggs benni» variations. I was tempted by the Fried Mac N Cheese Benni, but I decided not to mess with a good thing and go with their Traditional Benni($ 9.95). You can add bottomless mimosas to your meal for($ 10.95). I didn’t partake this time, but from what I saw, they were good about not letting glasses go empty. The food, however, left something to be desired. My benni was sloppily plated next to a cold pile of potatoes. The potatoes had huge chunks of red peppers mixed in as well which I didn’t care for. Overall, I didn’t taste anything that made me want more. If you’re mostly interested in sipping mimosas with a view of the ocean then come here. But don’t come expecting gourmet food or pancakes(who doesn’t serve pancakes at brunch?).

The food and drinks were great, but the service really was slacking. Server would bring water and disappear for quite a while. He’d come back to take our drink order and disappear. He brought the drinks and disappeared for a long time without taking our order. Other folks at tables around us(who came in after us) where already eating appetizers. To top it all off, the server ran my credit card using another table’s check! He did apologize and re-ran my card with my check and ran a credit transaction to back out the incorrect charge(and gave me the printout).

Hard to find, but worth looking. If you go up the wrong stairs or elevator, you will get lost, but this place has a great view of the ocean and a really good brunch with never ending mimosas. I met my sisters and cousin here and we had a great time talking over some good bloody marys and mimosas. the server just kept pouring more sparkling wine and we had a great view of Huntington Beach Pier. They also had a guitarist/singer playing the whole time — it made for a perfect afternoon! I would love to come back when i am in town again.

In a nutshell: Breakfast buffet spot with bottomless mimosas overlooking Huntington Beach Pier. Came here for my gf’s nephew’s bday. It was us and a bunch of his friends. Spark is on the second floor of the downtown Huntington Beach shopping area overlooking PCH. Spark is essentially a breakfast/brunch buffet with bottomless mimosas. A little pricey, but the food was decent. Parking 3⁄5 Street parking sucks but there is a parking structure a block away that’s $ 1/hr after the first half hour. Ambience 4⁄5 Mostly outdoor seating here. We came on a really nice day, and the sun didn’t hit my face until towards the end of the meal. There is a bar as you enter the restaurant in case you want to wait and drink. Buffet is located inside towards the rear of the restaurant. Not very big, but it gets the job done. There was also a one-man-band performing on guitar with iPad accompaniment. Service 4⁄5 Servers were great and filled our mimosas on a regular basis. The hostess was in love with all my gf’s nephew’s friends but didn’t have the courage to talk to any of them. Womp. Price 2⁄5 $ 30+ for this buffet? It was a bit much. I’ve had better buffets for less… in Vegas. Food 4⁄5 Here are the things I tried: Salad…Just kidding!!! Pancake Lasagna — A– We didn’t know what this was at first. Tried a small cube of it and enjoyed it so we asked what it was. It tasted like a sweet buttermilk pancake(but fluffier) with some sausage and bacon mixed in. Clever. Mac and cheese — A This was delicious because I smothered it with sausage gravy… shame on me. Breakfast sausage — A Ordinary breakfast sausage. Got an A because it tasted fresh off the pan. Chorizo Hash patties — B Looked like a crab cake, but didn’t taste like one. Not bad. Eggs Benedict — A– Quite tasty, and the hollandaise sauce wasn’t too thick. They used white bread instead of an english muffin, but I don’t usually eat that part anyway. Chicken Pesto — A Complete with pine nuts and a creamy pesto sauce Buffalo Chicken waffle — B– Ok. Waffle was overcooked and the buffalo(not sure actually) was alright. Overall 3⁄5 Not bad food-wise, but the price makes me not want to come back. Drop your price by about $ 10 and I’m in. I know they won’t because they are in posh Huntington Beach. Too much for this school teacher, though.

Found this place after looking to host a birthday party. Never heard of it so the family and I decided to try out the food. We had the shrimp and lobster pasta(good but pretty heavy), the crusted cod(good but could use a little bit more flavor), and Mac and cheese for kids meal. The kid liked the Mac and cheese very much and he especially loved that home made ice cream sandwich that came with the kids meal! The view from the terrace is so awesome. We got to see the sunset and just enjoyed a casual meal with the family. Jessica, our waitress was so awesome! Super friendly and gave us an excellent experience at the restaurant. We booked our event there because of the food and the service we got. FYI… Parking garage is located on the lower level of the plaza where the restaurant is located. Two hours free with validation.
