Came here with a bunch of coworkers. Such great hospitality here and mouthwatering food quality. The spicy bbq sauce is everything!!! Strawberry-kiwi lemonade is a must. Great prices and plenty of seating for large groups. Highly recommend!

The pulled pork nachos are ridiculous. If you ever come here make sure you order those. The Mac and cheese is really good too… look forward to coming back and trying more things on the menu… next time I’m getting the macburrito.

I just finished the Beef Brisquet Sandwich and it was delicious. The Brisquet was soft, moist and melted in your mouth. Had a hint of smoke flavor which perfected the meal. Beans were very good, packed with different meats. I will be back soon to try there Brisquet Nachos and Brisquet burrito. This was classic Texas Style BBQ that you don’t see much in SoCal!

I love this place. I’ve been here 4 times already and it hasn’t dissapointed. They’re meats are so tender, juicy, and flavorful with great seasoning. The portions are generous. Also the nachos there are THEBOMB!!! and they’re huge. Big enough for like 4 people. I always leave satisfied, and the owner Ray is a great guy. He always greets the customers when they walk in and bids you a farewell when you’re leaving. Overall, great experience :)

wow… just wow first lets start with walking in great decorations nothing too fancy but theres actually seating. The owner and his son are super nice. Really really welcoming attitude and over all talk to you like if you were their buddy so thats awesome. The food portion size wise wow biggo portions. i got brisket and my wife the nachos jesus we could have both ate off the nachos the foods so delicious better than any of the bbq ive ate in los angeles. the coleslaw is so good something so simple for once its delicious not too much mayo it almost seems like not mayo. maybe its something else either way its bomb. the mac n cheese is also great. the baked beans for once look like beans made from scratch and not the canned beans. the nachos are also soo good i mean the nacho chips are fresh thats the simple thing that they take pride in freshness. What blew my mind is the kiwi drink it tasted soooooo fresh and i new it was fresh from the delicious taste. i will come back here again and again and i will deffenitely bring my friends and family…

This place is located in a small shopping center. Nice ambience inside with tables and benches. Ray himself was there to welcome us, recommend options and ask what we thought after, which I thought was a nice touch. Everything was so delicious. I shared the two rib meal with mac n cheese and BBQ beans and the brisket nachos with a friend. It was around $ 35 with drinks. The drinks were homemade kiwi strawberry lemonade, really good and worth the $ 3. We weren’t able to finish everything because the nacho portion was big so probably a good size to share with three friends. Both the ribs and the nachos didn’t disappoint. Definitely will come back.

Great friggin’ BBQ!!! I found about Rays BBQ randomly on Instagram. It looked mighty tasty! Every Instagram post was about how much care is put into their BBQ. I loved that. He talked about his love and respect of Austin BBQ. Which is totally awesome! So, i had enough lurking and I wanted to try it! I tried the Brisket Burrito with an added link. Its delicious. Its filled with Brisket, Beans and Mac and Cheese. And the Link was delicious(and I usually don’t care for links) I also had the Brisket nachos. They were great as well! I pretty much devoured everything. And i didn’t get the BBQ burps I usually get with subpar bbq. As I left Ray asked how was my meal and I said it was friggin’ delicious! And he discussed with me his passion for great BBQ. As I walked out I saw Ray start wiping down the tables. That is a great owner! I literally love this place. And the music was awesome!

When I first saw this place on Unilocal I drove all the way down from SGV to pick up some ribs since my area only consists of overpriced joints that’s located in Pasadena like Robbins and Stonefire Grill. Both are good but over priced. I thought it would be cool to try out a new spot and give my business to a local mom and pops joint. I was sold on the pictures on Unilocal so I made my way down to HP. It was about a 20 – 30 min drive one way. The first time I ordered a half rack of ribs and it was spot on, cooked to perfection fall off the bone. Best of all was the price. It was $ 13-$ 15 for a half rack I believe. The second time I ordered a full rack for $ 25 and got the brisket burritos as well. I called ahead bc I knew there was going to be a wait even tho I only come on Sundays, right before Sunday Night Football and when I got there 30 min later, my food was still not ready. Had to wait another 15 – 20 min after I arrived just to see other people getting their food ahead of me as they told me the ribs were not ready. You run a BBQ joint and you don’t have ribs on deck on a slow Sunday afternoon at 3pm? I didn’t mind the wait bc Ray was friendly and chill. When I got back, the ribs were not the same as before. The meat was stiff, and none fell off the bone. The brisket burrito is good but so was damn salty. The consistency is not here… Fast forward 2 month later and I’m willing to give this place another chance so I’m looking at their website and now a half rack(6 ribs) is now close to $ 20($ 18.99) and full rack(12 ribs) is $ 35. What the heck happened Ray? At that price I might as well drive myself to Lucille’s in West Covina. FYI: Cash only !

I have bought quantities of food for work functions before and they have always taken my order we were good to go, but they now have an APP and will not take phone orders. I’m not paying on an APP so they will not get my business any longer. Their menus is blocked by my virus filter and there are no menus beside the one that is a picture of a menu board in the store. I hope this guy figures out how to treat his customers or he isn’t going to have any. As for the food, I like their brisket and pulled pork nachos. Not crazy about their sauce.

When we walked in, the smell of Good quality BBQ hit us immediately. Very clean, well lit with spacious parking. Magnificent customer service. He literally took his time to welcome us and recommended their most popular dishes as well as suggestions to what else we could add to our meal to get the full throttle rays BBQ experience. We ordered the Brisket Nachos, brisket melted in our mouths and required very minimum chewing, no fat at all. Though it’s not needed, they offer two BBQ sauces, even the spicy one has a nice sweet kick to it. Their kiwi strawberry water was very refreshing. Will definitely be coming back. Next time for the pulled pork nachos!

I’m raising my rating a star, I have not tried the ribs yet… I love Rays pulled pork mac and cheese burrito… I’d eat it everyday if I could. Today I tried brisket version, it also comes with sausage and BBQ beans… That’s a winner! The beef is so tender…

Overall the food was good! I had the brisket sandwich, meat was tender, BBQ sauce was sufficient and the bun was good. BBQ beans were different from traditional bake beans, they had pulled pork on them. But they weren’t bad. I’ll be back!

Shouts to Ray and his lovely ribs and brisket. The pulled pork was not my favorite, but you just sometimes you just need one amazing thing to make you a favorite restaurant. Ray does several. Fall off the bone St. Louis style ribs, brisket, killer Mac n cheese, potato salad, beans, and the spicy sauce. The spicy sauce. If you really want to support a mom and pop with some killer BBQ, go see Ray. Only met him once, but he was the warmest person and had an obvious passion for what he does.

I’ve decided to revisit Rays after hearing from various colleges that it has gotten better. I feel that Rays BBQ now deserves a solid 3.75 stars. Improvements: + Menu variety has increased, including various burgers and fries combinations. + Portions are generous but also comes in small size for those who want to grab lunch. + Service is attentive and professional. This that still can be improved: — The brisket has lots and lots of fat. — The ribs are still somewhat overcooked and dry. — The ratio of items in the fries/nachos can somewhat be optimized. My entire party griped about how much chips were in the nachos and the although the Brisket Fries looked very appetizing, the fat/cheese amount made it a struggle to eat at times. Side notes: = They only accept debit or cash. = It’s not overly packed(you can probably make lunch hour here). = Check in for a free 12oz Kiwi/Strawberry drink. If you don’t have BBQ often or if you’re in it for a quick fix you will probably love Ray’s and I recommend giving it a try if you’re not too far from this location. I will probably bring co-workers here for Lunch BBQ bindging but I still don’t find myself going out my way to come here otherwise(yet).
